reACTIONary's JournalB-TFG I never read anything by ....
Before TFG I would never read anything by Jenifer Rubin. I studiously avoided her column, as I did George F Will. (What does that F stand for? I have an idea, maybe you can provide your own speculation below .)
However, when she went NEVER TFGer, I started reading what she had to say. (Not so with George F? Will, even if he was a N-TFGer.)
Rubin has a book out about how TFG "woke" women, including herself, in opposition. ("Woke" is my term, she didn't use it.)
Here is an excerpt from WaPo. This is a bit of an experiment. The link is a "gift" that avoids the paywall. Let me know if it works or not.

FBI releases new footage of possible RNC, DNC pipe-bomb suspect
Source: Washington Post
The FBI on Wednesday released new video of a person believed to have placed pipe bombs near the Republican and Democratic National Committee headquarters in D.C. the night before the U.S. Capitol riot and revealed that investigators think the suspect is not from the area, as officials made another call for the publics help to solve the case.

He was one of the first Jan. 6 defendants to plead guilty to a felony. Now he wants to take it back.
The first person to be sentenced for a felony in the Jan. 6 Capitol attack now says he was bullied by his attorney into pleading guilty and would like to take it back.....
Paul Hodgkins, 38, was sentenced in July to eight months in prison after pleading guilty to one felony count of obstructing a joint session of Congress meeting to confirm the results of the 2020 president election. While he did not engage in violence, he carried a Trump flag onto the Senate floor after lawmakers had been forced to flee. A federal prosecutor had asked for an 18-month sentence, calling the riot an act of terrorism....
The Justice Department has insisted that anyone who entered the Senate chamber on Jan. 6 plead guilty to a felony. Some defense attorneys had urged the others to hold out and see whether the government relented at the prospect of going to trial in hundreds of cases. But (the defendant's former attorney told his current attorney) that the United States makes offers with a take it or leave it attitude.

A judge asked a mother if she got the covid vaccine. She said no, and he revoked custody of her son.
Source: Washington Post
When Rebecca Firlit joined a virtual court hearing with her ex-husband earlier this month...One of the first things (the judge) asked me
was whether or not I was vaccinated,
She was not, she said, explaining that she has had adverse reactions to vaccines in the past... Cook County Judge James Shapiro then made what the parents attorneys called an unprecedented decision he said the mother could not see her 11-year-old son until she got the vaccine.....
Judges in other states have granted lesser sentences to defendants who opt to get the vaccine, or mandated the vaccine as a condition of release from prison for some inmates. A judge in the 19th Judicial District Court in East Baton Rouge offered some defendants the option of getting the vaccine instead of completing community service hours.
Two judges in Ohio have also ordered that some people receive the vaccine as a condition of their probation. Similarly, two Georgia judges are reducing sentences for some offenders who get the vaccine. In New York, judges in the Bronx and Manhattan have ordered defendants to get the vaccine as part of their rehabilitation and as a condition for seeking bail, respectively.

It Was a Terrifying Census for White Nationalists
By Charles M. Blow, New York Times
For some of us, the census data released on Thursday was fascinating. For others, it was, I would presume, downright frightening.
Much of what we have seen in recent years the rise of Donald Trump, xenophobia and racist efforts to enshrine or at least extend white power by packing the courts and suppressing minority votes has been rooted in a fear of political, cultural and economic displacement.
The white power acolytes saw this train approaching from a distance the browning of America, the shrinking of the white population and the explosion of the nonwhite and they did everything they could to head it off.

Insurrectionist movement in U.S. is larger and more dangerous than expected, research finds
New analysis from Prof. Robert Pape and the Chicago Project on Security and Threats suggests that many Americans continue to hold the insurrectionist sentiments that led to the storming of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. In NORC surveys, millions of Americans indicate that they hold insurrectionist sentiments

Colorado Republican official accused after voting system passwords are leaked to right-wing site
A bizarre security breach of a rural Colorado countys voting system has in a matter of days escalated into a criminal probe of the clerks office, a ban on the countys existing election equipment, and heightened partisan divides over election-fraud claims.
Footage that showed passwords related to the countys voting systems was surreptitiously recorded during a May security update and published last week on a far-right blog, Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold (D) said Thursday. Griswold determined Mesa County cannot use its existing equipment for its November election.
Griswold alleged Mesa County Clerk Tina M. Peters (R) allowed the breach. A spokesperson for Mesa County confirmed a criminal probe headed by the 21st Judicial District Attorneys Office was underway but said it was still in the early stages.

In Plain Sight: Uncovering Border Patrol's Relationship with Far-Right Militias
In Plain Sight: Uncovering Border Patrol's Relationship with Far-Right Militias at the Southern BorderSothern Poverty Law Center's Hatewatch: Antigovernment militia groups in Arizona appear to be working in tandem with some Border Patrol agents in Pima County, based on a Hatewatch review of social media.
As militias on the border have become more brazen in recent months, it appears some Border Patrol agents have turned a blind eye to their activities. Hatewatch has reviewed several videos of Border Patrol agents interacting with these border militia members, in some cases even appearing to have established friendly relationships.....
These groups have a history of engaging in conspiracy-fueled missions that aim to portray migrants as cartel members and child predators. Although VOP appears to have been around since at least 2015, theyve veered from their initial mission of providing services to homeless veterans and have shifted their focus to intercepting migrants from Central and South America. In 2021, the current Veterans on Patrol organization appears to have very little do with veteran affairs, and according to the groups website, their new priority is to protect Americas children by disrupting Child traffickers along the southern Arizonan Border!
