Al Qaeda plot to blow up 5 passenger planes in Christmas 'spectacular'

The threat has been taken so seriously it came close to leading to an outright ban on all hand luggage, a senior insider has revealed.

Mobile phones and electronic devices could still be banned from plane cabins, with the threat of a 9/11-style coordinated attack on London and other major cities feared imminent.

The warning comes as Whitehall officials admit that a terror strike on the UK is now "almost inevitable" particularly with British jihadis returning from fighting alongside the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

An airport security source told the Sunday Express: "We've been told that five planes are being targeted in a high profile hit before Christmas. They've been waiting for the big one.

"We have many scares but this one nearly got hand baggage pulled from all airlines. The threat is still alive and real."

Egypt militant group says it killed US oil worker

An Egyptian militant organization that pledged allegiance to ISIS has claimed responsibility for the killing of an American oil worker.

Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, which now refers to itself as the Sinai Province, said on its official Twitter account late Sunday that it killed William Henderson. It published pictures of his passport and two identification cards. It did not say when or how it killed him.

The passport said he was a 58-year-old from Texas and his identification cards said he worked for Texas-based energy company Apache Corp. and Qarun Petroleum Co.

Apache said in August that one of its supervisors had been killed in an apparent carjacking in Egypt's Western Desert. The company did not identify the man. It could not immediately be reached for comment.

WTF ? WTF ?....Support for Isis stronger in Arabic social media in Europe than in Syria

Support for Islamic State (Isis) among Arabic-speaking social media users in Belgium, Britain, France and the US is greater than in the militant group’s heartlands of Syria and Iraq, a global analysis of over 2m Arabic-language online posts has found.

In what is understood to be the first rigorous mass analysis of those for and against the world’s largest jihadist organisation, Italian academics found that in a three-and-a-half month period starting in July, content posted by Arabic-speaking Europeans on Twitter and Facebook was more favourable to Isis than content posted in those countries on the frontline of the conflict.

In Syria, Isis appears to be dramatically losing the battle for hearts and minds with more than 92% of tweets, blogs and forum comments hostile to the militants who have rampaged through the east of the country and western Iraq, seizing large tracts of territory and declaring the establishment of a religious state.

The jihadist militants are known for operating a slick propaganda machine – managing online distribution in order to successfully evade content controls, piggybacking popular online conversations and galvanising thousands of global supporters into spreading their message.

Pope calls for interreligious dialogue to stop terrorism

Pope Francis, currently visiting Turkey, has called for interreligious dialogue "so that there will be an end of all forms of fundamentalism and terrorism."

The Pope said fighting hunger and poverty, rather than military intervention alone, were key to stopping Islamist militants carrying out "grave persecutions" in Syria and Iraq, referring to the Islamic State.

Speaking at the start of a three-day trip to Turkey, Francis said "terrorist violence" showed no sign of abating in Turkey's southern neighbours, where Islamist insurgents had declared a caliphate and persecuted Shi'ite Muslims, Christians and others who do not share their ultra-radical brand of Sunni Islam.

"It is essential that all citizens - Muslim, Jewish, and Christian - both in the provision and practice of the law, enjoy the same rights and respect the same duties," the Pope stated.

Francis faces a delicate mission in Turkey, a majority Muslim but constitutionally secular state, in strengthening ties with religious leaders while condemning violence against Christians and other minorities in the Middle East.

WTF ?? WTF ??...ISIS Pledges to Send Fighters to Ferguson

ISIS supports Ferguson protesters: Islamic militants pledge to send over 'soldiers that don't sleep, whose drink is blood, and their play is carnage'

ISIS fighters in Syria post tweets declaring support for Ferguson rioters
•Urge protesters to embrace Islam and carry out acts of extreme violence
•Uploaded hand-written note vowing to send militants to the Missouri city
•But said rioters must first declare their allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi

The note Hussain posted on Twitter today is titled 'From #IS 2 Ferguson' and contains a promise to send militants to the Missouri city if protesters pledge allegiance to ISIS.

It reads: 'We hear you and we will help you if you accept Islam and reject corrupt man-made laws like democracy and pledge your allegiance to Caliph Abu Bakr and then we will shed our blood for you and send our soldiers that don't sleep, whose drink is blood, and their play is carnage.'

Why can't they convene a 2nd grand jury ?

I believe the governor could apply a special prosecutor... If he wanted to.

McCullough obviously wanted these results so he put on his own mini trial.

ISIS Executes Prominent Syrian Female Politician, Brands her 'Traitor' for Opposing Militant Group

Reports out of Syria claim that a prominent 'outspoken' female politician was executed by the ISIS after the Sharia court found her guilty of 'espionage.'

Saada Al Ahmad was one of the leaders of "Al-Harakat Al-Sha'abiyya Al Qawimiyyeh Al-Massaanda", a political group that was actively working in Raqqa to unify the Syrian citizens and to bring the violence in the country to an end, reported Al-Masdar Al-'Arabi.

It is reported that Al Ahmad was increasingly motivating people to come together to form a democratic government. She also had spoken out against the 'Islamist' movement in the country, which was causing much blood-shed.

She was reportedly arrested by ISIS several months ago, but the details of her being 'alive or dead' was mostly undisclosed until recently, when the Islamic State militants started posting pictures of her body claiming that she had been executed for 'espionage.'
