Val Demings....

She's been one of my top choices ever since her name has been brought up as a possible running mate with Vice President Biden. I just saw her on The View and she's now my #1.

There's no link that I can post (probably too soon) of this specific appearance. Having said that, I encourage you guys to check her out if you haven't.

I'm trying to find out if President Obama, Michelle, and others are

giving a commencement ceremony online today? I may have gotten my dates wrong. Does anyone know if this is happening and if so, where I can find a thread? Thank you.....

Twitter suspends White Nationalist group posing as Antifa.. ..

https://www.cnet.com/news/twitter-suspends-account-white-nationalist-group-posing-as-antifa/

My roommate, who's a progressive but doesn't go further and misses words...I know that doesn't make sense.
Here's what happened. I walked into the kitchen and she's at her computer in the dining area where she spends a lot of time. She tells me, "Antifa is calling for violence." So immediately I ask to see what site she's on and it's AOL. We kind of read the headline together and she goes, "Oh, group posing as Antifa......Jesus, f'ing Christ! She kind of left out an important part of the headline.....

Anyway, I posted the story above.

Steve Schmidt will be on Stephanie Milller's Happy Hour

today. I don't know if you guys are able to access Stephanie's show but I don't have a problem at all.

You should just be able to go to her website:

stephaniemiller.com

Scroll down to the Happy Hour section and it should just come up.

I don't know exactly when the Happy Hours are recorded or posted but it'll be sometime this afternoon.

Right now Val Demings is on - she may be my top choice for the V.P. choice.

Below is an excellent interview and discussion with Lawrence Wright

He's a wonderful writer and journalist. Last year he wrote a book called The End of October. I haven't read it yet but I'm going to. It's prophetic. This is a great interview/conversation:

How can I find a thread by the user's name here on DU?

Someone made a post about V.P. possibilities and I want to get back to it. I have their DU user name. How can I find this post?

I need some input from you guys....

I live in an apt. in North Redondo Beach, CA. We don't have air conditioning. You used to not need it but man have things changed. I'm going to HAVE to get some kind of an air-conditioner. I can't get a window unit (it's kind of a complicated situation). Fans don't work-I've tried every kind of fan you can think of. This is going to get urgent since I'm not working and it's already starting to get hot in L.A. The past few years (when we've had heat waves) I've stayed at a friend's who has a/c. I can't do that now because she's a cancer survivor with a compromised immune system. HELP!!!!! (I'm post-menopausal and I get so hot that it borders on dangerous)..

Do they sell some kind of stand-alone air-conditioners?

.Thank you

DU'ers, I need your input....

I'm going to be sending an email to some of my friends regarding suggestions about support in the upcoming elections.

Here's a list I've come up with so far:

Senate:

Amy McGrath - Mitch McConnell/Kentucky
Sara Gideon - Susan Collins/Maine
Michael Franken - Joni Ernst/Iowa
Jaime Harrison - Lindsey Graham/South Carolina
John Hickenlooper - Corey Gardner/Colorado
Steven Bullock - Steve Daines/Montana
Mark Kelly- Arizona

House of Representatives:

Valerie Plame - New Mexico

I realize there may also be seats we currently hold that may in danger. I'd very much appreciate any feedback. (I had composed a lengthy post explaining why I'm doing this and all of dynamics but realized it wasn't necessary. Suffice it to say that I have good friends who are politically informed -but not as into it as I am - who have come to me in the past for suggestions and opinions regarding where their monetary contributions may best be used.

Thanks for any input...

About Upthevibe

I've been a member of DU since the very beginning....after that horrible fiasco - the sElection of 2000. My first user name was Lindsey, then I changed it to Nirvana555, and now it's Upthevibe. I had devices crash and I ended up having to change my user name. I've never been one to make a whole lot of original posts, but I consider myself a very active member in that I come to DU almost every day and read the wonderfully informative threads. I can't imagine what life would have been like over the past two decades without DU!
