This about sums it up - from The Washington Post

"Mr. Trump has reversed a generation-old trend toward openness, becoming the first president in modern times to conceal his tax returns and scrapping an Obama-era policy of publishing a list of White House visitors. He and his spokesmen frequently ignore facts and embrace misinformation. If he gets his way on policy, the nation will plunge more deeply into debt, global warming will accelerate and millions of vulnerable Americans will lose access to health care while the wealthy are further enriched."

100 days that will live in infamy!

What George knew...

I was familiar with Eisenhower's famous warning against the INDUSTRIAL MILITARY COMPLEX...

and FDR's great proposal for a SECOND BILL OF RIGHTS...

BOTH of which show far how down the ladder our Political Leadership has slid...

but this one was new to me that I found today:

from George Washington's Farewell Address:

The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries, which result, gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual [TRUMP]; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors [OR THE BIGGEST LIAR], turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of Public Liberty [NO SH*T!]

Without looking forward to an extremity of this kind, (which nevertheless ought not to be entirely out of sight,) the common and continual mischiefs of the spirit of party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to discourage and restrain it.

It serves always to distract the Public Councils, and enfeeble the Public Administration. It agitates the Community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms; kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption [Can you say RUSSIA?], which find a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions [THE DIRTY DOZEN OR SO OF THE TRUMP TEAM]. Thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another. [HELLO VLADIMIR it's DONALD CALLING]

I'd like to see Gorsuch tagged with the nickname "Merrick"...

to remind everyone all the time how he snaked his way onto the court via Republican bs.

GOP pulling the "nuke" option could be their undoing...

It strikes me that when 2020 rolls around: a.) even Trump supporters will be pretty sick of Trump; b.) The new revitalized Trumpcare 2.0 will p*ss off lots of Trump voters (those still alive); c.) McConnell pulling the "nuke" option will make it clear to even the stupid THERE IS NO CHECK ON TRUMP and the GOP - EXCEPT TO GET A RATIONAL DEMOCRAT in the White House to VETO their madness!!!

There will be no more pretense - THEY WILL OWN ALL THE CRAP THAT HAPPENS BETWEEN NOW AND THEN. And it will be more obvious any day the ONLY OPTION is to make Trump a one-term president.

And then...

IF we get more votes in the house and senate - NO FILIBUSTER ANYMORE! (I just hope we don't weasel out and appoint "moderates" to the courts to appease the imaginary moderate Republicans (the ones wearing their swastikas only at home).

Republicans looking at 33% hit for backing TRUMPCARE!

Found at Breitbart (believe it or not):

“Voters [in GOP districts] move from approving of their congressperson by 12 points(46% approve, 34% disapprove) to disapproving by 21 points (35% approve,56% disapprove) — a net shift of 33 percentage points,” says Priorities USA, which commissioned the poll of 1,001 likely voters into the popularity of Ryancare, or the American Health Care Act.
