All those that study fascism say "beware the little changes" well we better heed that; and quick

This banana republic administration has become so normalized that a lot of us have become lulled into reacting the way they want us to react. I've noticed less than a few people have pointed out the real meat of this Susan Rice stuff. No, it's not that it's a nothingburger story. I'll lay it out real simple:

1:WH in hot water.
2:WH dredges up a nothing story that sounds suspect (mainly because the intricacies of our intelligence agencies are too complicated for the layman), but is a nothing story nonetheless.
3:WH releases this story.
4.Contacts in conservative media are primed to pump hot air into the imaginary balloon that is this story (we all know from that Paul Ryan thing that the WH has a direct line to Fox).
5.Smaller distributors of conservative media hear the dog whistle and drum up outrage to fill their coffers, dwindling from a pathetic inexcusable republican administration.

a). The president loves rightwing propaganda, and a media drought accompanied by the his abandonment from more centrist organizations, creates an incentive for him to increase their content deliberately.

b). I'm sure his staff has financial holdings in at least a couple of them.

c). MOST IMPORTANTLY the WH created a story and fed it into state-aligned private companies for it's own political benefits. Essentially a dry run for an under-the-skin webbing of propaganda networks. The administration legitimizes a story, the rw media financially benefits, and the administration gets attention diverted to its enemies.

This is the state-run media of 21st century. It's a system not easily comparable to those of the past, such is the case with the advances in the way people consume information. But our failure to identify the risks and bring those risks to the attention of the general public is risky and borderline negligent. We saw this with how Russian trolls and fake news hit the mainstream AFTER identifying those problems truly mattered the most.

Spreading that thing about the ISIS leader is gonna feed RW propaganda cannons

The ones really really deep down the rabbit hole already think liberal = sharia law. Us smugly agreeing with ISIS is not gonna help us. People are gonna twist that shit real hard. Just as warning. Sorry not sorry.

Where does that "gets a phone call and takes an Uber" thing fit into the Nunes story?

I've heard that point largely ignored after it was revealed that the source was the WH.

So GSA said Trump's lease was valid on March 23rd: Faulty info or lying to curry favor?

But GSA contracting officer Kevin Terry wrote that reaching "simplistic 'black and white' conclusions regarding the meaning" of the contract's ban on elected officials was not appropriate. He determined the lease is valid because Trump moved his interests in the building to a revocable trust, which is being managed by Trump's oldest sons and other associates. Trump is the sole beneficiary of that trust.

Yet this happened on February 10th

ProPublica said that previously unreported changes to a trust document, signed on February 10, stipulated that it “shall distribute net income or principal to Donald J Trump at his request” or whenever his son and longtime attorney “deem appropriate”.

The news site said there is nothing requiring Mr Trump to disclose when he takes profits from the trust, which could go directly into his bank or brokerage account. That’s because both the trust and Trump Organisation are privately held.

So what's the verdict? Why aren't people reporting on this? Is it too much to ask for journalists to be able to link stories that broke only days apart (when that link requires a basic level of cognition at best)?

In Oklahoma the number of magnitude 3.0 quakes a year rose from 2 to 889; why do they vote red?

I'm seriously asking here. And not for anecdotal evidence about republicans. I'd really like to know how a state where the chilling effects of deregulation can LITERALLY BE PHYSICALLY FELT and yet they vote for the "regulation is the problem" party. Even hard-red immigrant-hating republicans shouldn't be that stupid.

And for that matter why don't progressive PACs just hammer in "republicans are literally raping your state" to the people of Oklahoma?

Why are people just now acting surprised about Russia trolls when Sam B ran this 5 months ago?

It's like when Hillary literally called Trump a puppet and we knew that Russia hacked the DNC and the news only "broke" when the FBI released that docket on Obama's behest back in January.

Roger Stone rehearsing for his court date on Maher

Pulling up exact dates and articles to deflect. His interview is rehearsed to hell. Sounds like he's reading off a script.

I'm dreading tomorrow

Mark my words, there will be a massive amount of fake news posted by somewhat reputable sites who simply can't read the mood of the room. And those news stories will still be shared around all the way into December.
