Here's the problem I have with my friends who are Sanders supporters

I do have lots of friends who supported Bernie in 2016 and are supporting him again.

I've let them know that it bothers me a lot when they (or Bernie) attack Democrats because I think that hurts the party and helps Trump and the GOP.

But here's the thing they keep doing, which to me is problematic: They compare Biden (for example) to Bernie on every single issue. AND if Biden (for example) doesn't agree with Bernie on every single issue then they start in on their harsh criticisms.

In other words, what I'm saying, is that Bernie people seem to think that anyone who doesn't agree with Bernie on every single issue is not worthy of becoming president.

Example: "If Biden doesn't support the Green New Deal then he shouldn't be president." Or, "If Biden doesn't support Bernie's Medicare for All bill then he shouldn't be president."

So there is this idea that Bernie's positions represent "Truth" and "Purity" and other positions on the issues are not valid or worthy of serious discussion.

I've asked my Bernie-supporting friends to be more open-minded and willing to discuss all of the issues instead of just assuming that Bernie has the right answer to every question that confronts our nation. Because I don't think he does.

But you can't tell that to Sanders supporters.

What do you think?

Joe Biden Pushes Back On Criticism Of Climate Change Approach

Former Vice President Joe Biden (D) defended his record as an advocate for stronger environmental protections on Monday, responding to a report that he plans to take a “middle ground” on solutions to climate change.

Biden, who’s competing to be the 2020 Democratic presidential nominee, brought up the matter unprompted during a speech to a crowd of hundreds at a pizza restaurant in New Hampshire’s seacoast region.

As evidence of his green bona fides, Biden cited an article on the fact-checking site PolitiFact that supported his claims and called him a “climate change pioneer” in Congress.

“I said that I was in this area long before most anybody else was and I have a record. And they basically said ... ‘Biden’s right. He’s been a leader on climate change,’” Biden told the crowd.

Biden Has Two Huge Advantages That No Other Candidates Have

1. Only Biden was part of the Obama Administration. No other Dem. candidate has or can get that kind of halo effect for their candidacy.

2. Biden likely will be a one-term president. This means Dems who want a woman and/or a minority candidate can be patient and look forward to that in 2024. Plus, it's almost assured Biden will pick a woman and/or a minority VP running mate.

Biden is clearly the lowest risk candidate for Dems to nominate. And he is also perceived to be the candidate most likely to end the nightmare of the Trump presidency.

All of this adds up to Biden having the best chance to become the Dem nominee with these advantages no other candidate has.

Rudy Giuliani traveling to Ukraine to push for investigation into Joe Biden and his son

Rudolph W. Giuliani, President Trump’s personal attorney, said he would be traveling to Ukraine soon to encourage the newly elected government to investigate relationships between presidential candidate Joseph R. Biden’s son, Hunter, and a wealthy Ukrainian gas company owner, The New York Times reported Thursday.

“We’re not meddling in an election, we’re meddling in an investigation, which we have a right to do. There’s nothing illegal about it,” Mr. Giuliani, a former New York City mayor, told The Times.

“Somebody could say it’s improper. And this isn’t foreign policy — I’m asking them to do an investigation that they’re doing already and that other people are telling them to stop. And I’m going to give them reasons why they shouldn’t stop it because that information will be very, very helpful to my client, and may turn out to be helpful to my government,” he said.

Mr. Giuliani added Mr. Trump was aware of this plan, saying he “basically knows what I’m doing, sure, as his lawyer.”

I'm Sick of Democrats Trying to Destroy Democrats

This is a forum for Democrats to support Democrats.

We're starting to see people on this form attack Democrats.

They are expressing Republican talking points.

This is what Sanders did to Clinton in 2016. He attacked Clinton during primaries and then Trump used the same talking points during the general election.

What I want to see is people focused on explaining WHY they support their favored candidate.

Can we do that?

House Judiciary Committee votes to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt over Mueller repor

Source: CNBC

The House Judiciary Committee votes to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt over the Justice Department's refusal to comply with Democrats' subpoena for special counsel Robert Mueller's unredacted Russia report and its underlying evidence.

The vote passes in the Democrat-led committee shortly after President Donald Trump asserts executive privilege over the Mueller report, an escalation of an already-intense political brawl that appears to be headed to the courts.

The vote on contempt will now head to the full House, where Democrats control a majority of seats.

Best Way to Beat Trump

According to Thomas Friedman in the New York Times the best way to be assured of Trump losing is if "a patriotic Republican on the right" runs as a third party candidate.

He's right. That would probably guarantee a split of GOP votes and assure a Dem. victory in 2020.

Biden fundraiser: 'It's clear that Donald Trump fears Joe'

"Joe Biden’s presidential campaign on Tuesday sent out a fundraising email to supporters citing President Trump’s repeated social media attacks against the former vice president, saying that the recent barrage is evidence that the White House fears a Biden challenge in 2020.

“He retweeted over 60 anti-Biden tweets in less than an hour. This is unprecedented. He’s never gone after a candidate like this before. It’s clear that Donald Trump fears Joe and wants to derail his candidacy,” the campaign said. “The attacks have already started and we need to be able to fight back. That means raising 25,000 grassroots donations before our mid-month deadline next week. If we are going to get there, we need every last supporter to step up,” it added.

Biden, who officially launched his presidential campaign in April after months of speculation, has quickly emerged as the primary pack’s pacesetter, emerging at the top of several national and statewide polls and raking in a staggering $6.3 million within the campaign’s first 24 hours.

Officials have privately told several media outlets that Trump views Biden as one of his biggest threats among the 22 current Democratic candidates because of his appeal to white working-class voters in the Rust Belt who historically voted Democrat but flipped in 2016.
