I wanted to point out

something I heard Joe say, amid the cackling of Trump over "Law and Order."

And that is, that Joe said he believed in Law and Order AND JUSTICE.

Trump was whining that the Feds didn't get invited in to put down the rioting (a situation that I personally believe HE caused.) He said over and over, "Law and Order," which I think is his euphemism for suppression of free speech. But his focus was solely on the Dem governors' refusals to invite them in.

Joe, on the other hand, was inclusive. He just didn't get a chance to follow up on that idea because Trump was running his mouth.

Tonight's debate

"The debate is set for 9 p.m. Eastern time, and will last 90 minutes without any commercial breaks. The topics for the debate are "The Trump and Biden Records," "The Supreme Court," "Covid-19," "The Economy," "Race and Violence in our Cities" and "The Integrity of the Election," according to the Commission on Presidential Debates."

I wonder if those questions are why Trump complained that they favor Biden. You remember that? He whined about the questions.

No commercial breaks. Now I have to get the snacks out before it starts. I personally don't mind if Joe stumbles, as long as he lands one or two on the Orange kisser. I think that Trump can only speak in generalities, although he has occasionally surprised me.

Still, this is good theater, not likely to change minds, but likely to satisfy my desire to stick it to Trump. There won't be any threatening roaming of the stage, but maybe some interruptions by the Chief Scumbag. Joe will be okay.

In my wildest fantasy, Trump menaces Biden, and Joe's security people come out and throw Trump's pasty white ass to the stage floor, maybe put a chokehold on him. And, then he gets hauled away under 25A, and we proceed to the election.

I know, I know...I'll have to settle for the alternate ending. But, here I am, cleaning house while I wait for the debate. Wish I could watch it stoned, but those days are gone.

Tax Settlements

The IRS doesn't have to take the correct and full amount actually due from Trump--a probable amount beyond imagination, what with fines and penalties. No, Trump can open negotiations to settle the bill.

But, I think he might posture himself as the, you know, pResident, and that he can't be bothered while he is still there. That would give him up to Inauguration Day just to start to negotiate. Those negotiations could take a significant amount of time. He could lengthen that by going to trial, although that's dicey.

So, I don't think that these taxes, while an ahah moment for us, will bother him all that much. He has plenty of time to figure it out, while living off of We The People. He squirrels away the money he swipes and pays off the miniscule amount that he will negotiate for a settlement. Easy, peasy.

He probably won't even have to give up Mar a Lago. If he does not get reelected (one way or another,) he'll just go there. Convenient to that boat dock guarded by the Coast Guard, in case he needs it.

The only real problem he has is, WHO does he owe millions to? China? Well, yeah, but what are they gonna do?

Russia? We know what they can do! My money's on the Russian mob. But I think that he can come up with taxpaper money to pay them off. MAYBE they want something more than money...there's no price they can put on the US of A.

We have to be smarter than this jerk. We are STILL on the offensive, and we must vote all of these people out of office. They are all traitors. Not too far to go now! Hold on!

Sports

I like to have sports channels on air in the AM. I miss them, like everyone else. Still, I don't think that players should risk their lives over it.

This post is about one tiny part of watching baseball highlights. Now, baseball is not my sport. But, it is part of this greater scenario that is playing out. I noticed this, and it tickles me.

Of course, the baseball venues are empty. They have to be right now. But, you know what someone did? They put cutouts of audience members in the stands. You see these hordes of people, and they are all fake! There they are, cheering on the players! Hahaha!

I appreciate that detail very much. It's like watching a cartoon, or something. It was fun, made me laugh, and I would like to see more.

Critical Race Theory

I've been reading out of the box lately, visiting websites whose subjects and themes are quite a bit beyond me. I am a big fan of a certain person, and following the trail of thought has led me from the English countryside, where apparently Black people are not supposed to be but are, to right back in the thick of current Black anger here in America. All roads lead to ousting Trump in November.

But, seriously, and I am not well versed here so this link might not be appropriate,

(https://www.theroot.com/the-trump-administration-just-announced-white-studies-c-1845105243) but I found it a good read, anyway.

This article talks about Trump's recent announcement of some bullshit new angle someone in his administration has thought up for him to promote, that of teaching, apparently, white history(?) I had to read several parts of it over and over to get what was being said. I think it says that the Left (I guess that's us) is pushing for Americans to hate our origins, a kind of we-did-it-for-liberty versus we-did-it-for-slavery-and-oppression-of-nonwhite-people. Something like that. Trump is promoting a kind of twisted unity where he seems to include POC as well, but I am unconvinced.

America did not invent slavery. Slavery came over from Europe where it was well entrenched. What we did was change the character of it, and applied it to the enterprise of plantations and such. The other thing we did which was shameful was we shoved the Native Americans off their land and claimed the entire nation for our own. Gosh, isn't that shameful enough?

But, when you have, here in 2020, people being shot dead for no crime other than being Black, (even ignorant white people can see that, and wonder what they would have done differently,) then "The Left" has every right to speak up and object. But, here Trump has enlarged the point of you know, it probably isn't a good idea to handcuff a guy and then crush his breath off, to it being the fault of The Left that angry people are reacting and not in a controllable, Repub way, but with real, gut-deep anger in the face of a wannabe dictator.

This thread is related to the other thread we have here on the "1776 Commission," but I separated it out because I am confused by the concept of "Critical Race Theory." America is made up of many different races, which is why originally we were cutely called a "melting pot." Trump seems to want to go back to the beginning of our separation from England and the King, and claim it was just for freedom.

Well, we did do it for freedom--and not for Black freedom, but for White freedom. Black freedom came later, when we fought Civil War 1, as did Women's freedom through Suffragettes and those struggles. Neither Black People nor Women have completely won equality--is THAT our fault?

Can you blame ANYONE for being pissed when a Black person gets shot or beat up by cops for doing nothing? Whether we want to admit it or deny it, the fact is, that we had slaves early in our history--and Black people were it! That's a fact, Jack, and it stands right alongside our fight to be free of the English King. We can't change those facts. All we can do is change our attitudes, our laws, and anything else that helps everybody to be equal.

I resent having to pay tax dollars for Trump's idiotic commission, but I am not sure of the total impact of the concept of "Critical Race Theory." I think that I don't completely get it.

Question about Twitter

I used to enjoy reading Twitter feeds, but awhile back they changed their format, and now it's almost impossible to read.

Question: Is there any way to get rid of the large blue banner "Log In/Sign Up" at the bottom? I won't be doing either one, so...?

Try this maybe.

I'm a big fan of Arlo and Pete. Pete is gone now, but he left vinyl behind for all of us to enjoy.

See if you can navigate your way to this in concert tidbit:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NK41T9Y/ref=dm_ws_tlw_trk1

Now, look on the right where it says "Listen Now." It should take you to Amazon Music where this Album will display all the tracks. First listen to #4, and then #9. You may get a chuckle.

The album is called "More Together Again" and it's Volume 1. That's in case you get lost but still want to try to find it.

Cici Artemisia aka Porter

Does anyone know if she's okay? She had moved to Oregon a while back; hope she's okay.

Excessive heat in California

I've never seen heat like this, at least not 22 miles from the ocean. Turned on my taps with mist sprays and wasted water, but I didn't know what else to do.

Last week, I did the same, and I noticed brown frogs and toads showed up to enjoy the moisture. I thought they were all gone.

All my animals are turned loose to seek shade comfort, which happens to be up next to the house. What a mess, but it seems like an emergency.

I have lived here a long time, but 113 F seems like an alarm going off. Drinking lots of ice water, and waiting for the evening when it will cool off a bit. Tomorrow will be the same.

Songs My Mother Taught Me

The first song my mother ever taught me:

(Intro)
March along, sing our song, with the Army of the free
Count the brave, count the true, who have fought to victory
We’re the Army and proud of our name
We’re the Army and proudly proclaim

First to fight for the right,
And to build the Nation’s might,
And the Army Goes Rolling Along
Proud of all we have done,
Fighting till the battle’s won,
And the Army Goes Rolling Along.

(Refrain)
Then it’s Hi! Hi! Hey!
The Army’s on its way.
Count off the cadence loud and strong (TWO! THREE!)
For where e’er we go,
You will always know
That The Army Goes Rolling Along.

Valley Forge, Custer’s ranks,
San Juan Hill and Patton’s tanks,1
And the Army went rolling along
Minute men, from the start,
Always fighting from the heart,
And the Army keeps rolling along.

(Refrain)

Men in rags, men who froze,
Still that Army met its foes,
And the Army went rolling along.
Faith in God, then we’re right,
And we’ll fight with all our might,
As the Army keeps rolling along.

(Refrain)

FU, Trump.
