Trump Campaign ad urges "Support our troops" with picture of Russian jets and soldiers

The Trump campaign has been running political advertisements since early September urging people to "support our troops" alongside a stock photo featuring Russian fighter jets and model soldiers carrying foreign weaponry.

The banner ads from the Trump Make America Great Again Committee have been running since at least Sept. 2, according to a breakdown of the campaign's online ad spending provided by Google. The ads were first reported by Politico.

To be fair, the ad did not specify which troops should garner Americans' support.

In person voting and masks

So if Trump voters are more likely to vote on election day, but don't believe in wearing masks, what is the likelihood they will be allowed into the polling place? I imagine there will be a ton of issues of Trump supporters being kicked out of polling places for not wearing masks, or taking them off once they get in. I wonder how that issue will effect the results if at all

"Trump tweets while America Burns"

...should probably be the next ad campaign right around now. It is catchy, accurate and can be used to highlight the misapppropriated resources allwng this to be as bad as it while virtually every state west of the Mississippi burns.

Award winning KPCC/NPR journalist, Josie Huang assaulted and arrested by Sheriff's Sunday

https://laist.com/latest/post/20200913/80222d039da6e2435bed1e10df36e367457cd4af?fbclid=IwAR2dbQLnposRycERtm0AxymuuKSh2-X72-jl4GI63HVQPvEqE7R3aRPkd_k

Sheriff’s officials allege that Huang, an award-winning journalist, obstructed justice. The department initially refused to provide details of what happened, but later, Deputy Juanita Navarro of the Sheriff's Information Bureau confirmed that deputies took Huang into custody on suspicion of obstruction of justice by "interfering with a lawful arrest." Huang said she was trying to document the arrest of a protester, an account in line with her video from the scene.

Navarro also said Huang "didn't have proper credentials," but she was clearly wearing press credentials around her neck. A tweet from the Sheriff’s Department at 2:19 a.m. Sunday includes a false claim that Huang did not identify herself as a journalist. Huang told deputies at least five separate times that she was a reporter and KPCC staffer in less than a minute, according to the recording.

Video from ABC7 shows at least five deputies pinning Huang to the pavement, handcuffing her, and placing her in a patrol car. Huang’s phone fell to the ground as she was being arrested, and deputies appear to have stepped on it multiple times as it continued to record.

Huang was taken to the women’s jail at the Century Regional Detention Center. She was released at about 4 a.m. without bail, but was cited for an obstruction charge. A KPCC newsroom executive said Huang had visible bruises and scrapes, a sore shoulder and a blackened eye. LAist and KPCC called for an apology from the department. Undersheriff Tim Murakami said he would look into the incident.

This makes me livid

When we take back the government, can the Democrats please pass a law

Guaranteeing peoples' right to vote, and banning states from barring any person from voting -including inmates? The US does not have a constitutional guarantee to vote, and probably wont for a while, but we need to do what we can to get close. Also, stack the scotus so they can't overrule it.

Texas had a 3 point swing to Clinton in 2016, a 4 point swing to Beto in 2018

Biden is just about a point behind Trump in Texas. Iim guessing if they work the state at least as well as in 2016 and 2018, and get anywhere close to what Clinton and Beto did (the election day swing vs poll averages), we can see Biden take it!

My grandfather's brother was not a loser or a sucker, nor were his friends he saw die

Thomas Taro Higa (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Taro_Higa) volunteered to serve in World War II at a time when the government was forcing Japanese-Americans like himself into internment camps. As a PFC, he received a silver star after he ran into gunfire and rescued two of his battle buddies when shot in the back. He was a member of the 100th Infantry batallion -one of the most decorated battalions in history, and suffered among the most casualties in the war. He was one of half a dozen Japanese American uncles of my mothers who served in world war two in the 442nd or 100th battalion (I think they merged in 1944).

All of them were wounded in combat. All of them saw friends die. All of these people were motivations for me to join the service myself some years back, where I also knew my share of those who died and were wounded. Donald Trump believes that everybody who joined the service, was wounded or died, was a sucker. He cannot fathom anybody doing anything for anybody other than themselves. No Mr. President, those who died were not losers.

Those of us who served -and our friends who died, were not fools. Mr President: May your contempt for those better than you rot you to your very cowardly core.
