Well at least now we know why tRump refuses to concede.

Putin Says He’s Not Ready to Recognize Biden as U.S. President. In other words he hasn't given tRump the okay to let Democracy proceed.

Trump lost. Joe Biden is our next President. We're just waiting for time to catch up to the facts.

Democracy will prevail. But Democracy isn't a cheap date. We've already paid a staggering price on every level and we have a long climb to return to the place from where we fell. But we will return and from there we'll move to an even better place than we were before. Because that's what Democracy does and that's how society evolves. And that is who we are.

We have an opportunity to become a more perfect union, to become more inclusive. We have another chance to become a more just society, a more caring people. We have another chance to embrace what is right and good and true of our better selves. It's who we are as Democrats. It's why we're here.
Hopefully we've become more savvy to the ways of those who want to see Democracy demolished. We're more alert to the methods used to divide, misinform and attempt to conquer. Congress has serious work ahead to see that this can never happen again. As do we all.

We must not return to "normal". We were living in a version of "normal" that allowed the last 4 years to happen.
We must strive for a new normal. One that we can all live with as we honor each other's pursuit of happiness. We'll move forward from that point and begin fresh on a path that will benefit America and the world for generations to come. Because we will it so.

Is tRump's Twitter account considered official or is it meaningless and meant to be ignored?

The reason I ask is because if it's not official, how can he fire anyone via Twitter?

And if it is official, that means government agencies must monitor it for his random declarations and firings so they can generate the paperwork needed to comply with his random wishes. What kind of stable and sane government does that? This is dysfunctional to the nth degree.

If he is able to fire people via Tweet, that should be proof that it is an official account.
When the time comes there should be plenty of evidence of sedition and whatever other charges can be brought against him.

Is the Bully Trump administration going to try to strongarm the electors to change their vote?

Asking for everyone I know.

In Debt and Desperate Trump Tries Duping the Devoted Yet Again

His official "Election Defense Fund" is only a cover to get the gullible to fork up more campaign money. Is anyone shocked that they spent it all and didn't pay the bills?
The fine print states that 60% of the election defense fund money will go to pay off campaign debt.
My guess is the other 40% will go for overhead. Is Ivanka managing that part?

Is it possible elections will be called when all is in place to stop civil unrest?

Maybe everyone needs to be in place first due to the unpredictable nature of tRump's potentially violent devotees.

From The Military Times:
Snip:

At least 4,700 National Guard troops in 18 states have been activated as of Tuesday afternoon to support the Nov. 3 general election in several capacities. The missions range from assisting with cyber defense, working the polls, and standing-by in case of post-election civil unrest.

All of the troops currently activated are on state orders and are under the control of their respective governors.

From the NY Times: Not all National Guard Troops will be wearing uniforms.

Just woke up. Looked at a video from last night. tRump claims fraud & victory.

Here's the video. He claims fraud at 7:08 and says he wants to stop the count.

Internal Documents Reveal COVID-19 Hospitalization Data The Government Keeps Hidden - NPR

Snip
"About 24% of U.S. hospitals are using more than 80% of their ICU capacity, based on reporting from nearly 5,000 "priority facilities," and more hospitals have joined their ranks in recent weeks."

The above is information that is shared only with a select few insiders.

Snip
"The documents show that detailed information hospitals report to HHS every day is reviewed and analyzed — but circulation seems to be limited to a few dozen government staffers from HHS and its agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and National Institutes of Health, according to distribution lists reviewed by NPR. Only one member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, Adm. Brett Giroir, appears to receive the documents directly."

What do you think? Pragmatic preparedness or fear mongering?

This article from newsletter "Waging nonviolence" raises some questions and offers solutions.
I'm interested to hear DUer's thoughts on this.

Snip:

"As coup prevention has gained mainstream attention, here’s a series of tactics with a plan to defend our democracy.
It’s Nov. 4. Votes are still being counted in dozens of states and election results are not final. But Trump tweets that he won while claiming massive fraud from mail-in ballots. Trump loyalists prepare to ignore election results. What do folks do next?"

Before talking tactics, it’s worth asking: Is a coup really possible?

"Recall the Bush-Gore election in 2000. While election officials began a recount, a group of Republican operatives were ordered to “stop them.” They attempted to bully their way into a Florida election office, trampling and punching people. This became known as the “Brooks Brothers riots,” with unusual protesters who were “50-year-old white lawyers with cell phones and Hermès ties.

The bourgeois riot’s pressure on the election officials — which included both an inside strategy of lawsuits and the outside strategy of protests — resulted in them ceasing the recount and changed the course of the national outcome.

The Brooks Brothers riots worked in large part because there was no meaningful counter-narrative of street protests. We’re already neutering that by being in the streets, even if we don’t end up confronting every regressive action to support a coup."

Snip:
"If a coup doesn’t happen, is the preparation worth it?

Absolutely. I’ve been part of efforts where our preparation alone kept the opposition from mobilizing against us.

Further, we’re teaching how power works. Trump’s tweets don’t determine the outcome of the election. People do. Our job isn’t over when the election is over — we need to understand how power works to make change for the future. Because the fight to save our country and the planet is just beginning."

I can see the memes already.

Pence presiding over the Senate vote as the Grim Reaper.

I wonder if he'll be attending the Rose Garden party, too.
