Any NYer remember the story of corruption/racketeering with Mario Biaggi?,

What I can find:

Congressman Mario Biaggi, who was charged and convicted in 1987 of accepting illegal gratuities and obstruction of justice, sentenced to 2-1/2 years in prison. He was facing expulsion so he resigned. In 1988 he was also convicted of corruption/racketeering and sentenced to another 8 years in prison. The prosecutor was Rudy Giuliani.

Mario Cuomo was Governor when Mario Biaggi was convicted in 1987/1988
-----
Just wondering if anyone recalls more on this case of corruption & racketeering by Biaggi.
Was Congressman Mario Biaggi in with the NY mob as well?

NY's history of mob corruption & bribes & is just fascinating.
Just asking.
Thanks

Kamala Harris to Speak at Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards

Vice President Kamala Harris will be trading the White House for an orange blimp this Saturday at Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards. During the slimy affair hosted by Kenan Thompson, the VP will be introduced by actress Jennifer Garner and is set to deliver special remarks as part of the show’s Generation Change presentation, ViacomCBS’ pro-social initiative that acknowledges the strength and courage of the youth to create a better world for the future generations of kids and adolescents.

Vice President Kamala Harris is a pioneer and role model for us all, but especially for today’s kids, who can find inspiration in the story of her path forward and the barriers she has broken from childhood to today,” said Marva Smalls, ViacomCBS global head of inclusion and executive VP, public affairs, kids and family entertainment, in a statement.

Generation Change connects leaders and innovators such as Los Angeles Laker LeBron James and World Cup champion Megan Rapinoe with young voices to inspire positive change in communities through civic engagement.
Generation Change recognized James for his philanthropic work with the “I Promise School” public elementary in Akron, Ohio, which is supported by the LeBron James Family Foundation, and Rapinoe was honored for her passion to make sports a more equal playing field in regards to gender, race and LGBTQ+ rights.

Oct 2010. Roger Stone / "Meet the Leader of Eliot Spitzer's Smear Campaign"

"Every time we see an outrageous sexual claim printed about a politician, it's worth considering something Franklin Roosevelt once said: "In politics, nothing happens by accident."

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2010/10/meet-the-leader-of-eliot-spitzers-smear-campaign/64361/

From October 2010

SNIP
Stone had a motive to plant the story because he had been paid to embarrass the governor.

First, former NY State Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno hired Stone for $20,000/month to take on Spitzer. With Stone's help, Bruno turned everyone's attention away from his own corruption -- using state aircraft and vehicles to go on personal fund-raising trips -- and toward an attack on Spitzer for "spying" on Bruno. (The "spying" consisted of releasing public records of Bruno's state-paid travel.)

SNIP
So, once Spitzer had fallen from grace -- and his high office -- Stone set about trying to permanently hobble the Sheriff's public profile by humiliating him with details suggesting that his exchanges with prostitutes were uptight, perverse, and downright ridiculous. For a long time, those tale tales were not refuted. That's the beauty of stories about sex.
They are just as embarrassing to deny as they are to confirm.
As Lyndon Johnson once told an aide who objected when Johnson -- without any proof -- claimed that his opponent had sex with animals, "Let him deny it!"

Readers are drawn to private details about their public figures. Even as we attempt to hold politicians to impossibly high personal standards -- "they should set an example" -- we are "shocked" and titillated when they are just as venal as most of us are.

Roger Stone is a master at navigating this territory. He suspected that the mainstream media would be uncritical of the black socks story because it was such a delicious detail. ..

Roger Stone didn't get that Trump pardon for no reason.
There was still work to be done that required Stone's signature dirty dealings beyond Jan 6th.

Trump's downfall rests with NY courts.
A pardon by the NY Gov someday is the only 'out' for Trump & his Organization.

Trump & Stone will both walk away with their pardon's, & the truth of what it took to unseat a Democratic Gov & run a Republucan for Gov, (currently 'in waiting') in the next election, will be told in regrettable hindsight one day.

This article is eye opening & revealing.

I predict a hung jury in the Derek Chauvin murder of George Floyd

3 Selected jurors so far.

1 biracial female - age 20's/30's
2 Caucasian males - age 20's/30's

Now this is just my opinion & concern, but it only takes 1 juror to muck it up.
I hope I'm proven wrong in the end.

The mental, emotional, and physical toll of COVID-19 is substantially magnified in jails and prisons – yet the suffering is hidden in plain sight. Our Restoring Promise initiative asked people who are incarcerated to share their stories through their art.

Incarcerated people and correctional staff know that COVID-19 is a major threat to their health and safety. Anxiety, fear, and stress escalate as lockdowns limit human interaction and the ability to stay active and see family and loved ones are restricted.

The art they have shared calls on us to recognize the humanity, hardships, and hopes of those experiencing the pandemic in incarceration – adding transparency to life hidden behind walls. Their art tells their stories
