I absolutely love thiis: "Nowhere Fast" from the film "Streets of Fire", by Jim Stienman.

Here's the very short Wikipedia article on it:

I love the interaction between them (they were married at the time this was filmed).

Barring an Israeli food truck from a Philadelphia street fair draws public ire

https://www.inquirer.com/news/israeli-food-truck-threats-street-fair-20210620.html

A decision to disinvite a food truck selling Israeli food from a Philadelphia food festival scheduled for Sunday drew public criticism and dismay that resulted in the cancellation of the event.

Moshava Philly, a mobile Israeli food business, was supposed to participate in Taste of Home, billed as an “event celebrating diversity through food, art, entertainment, community,” presented by nonprofits Eat Up the Borders and Sunflower Philly.

On Saturday, Moshava posted on Instagram that the organizers told the food truck not to come because of rumors of a protest because of the Israeli business’ presence and that they opted to “uninvite us for fear that the protesters would get aggressive and threaten their event.”

With ongoing backlash, Sunflower Philly, one of the North Fifth Street event sponsors, announced Sunday on social media that the entire fair was canceled.

Waitress abducted and assaulted after chasing 5 people who ran out on $70 bill: Police

https://www.google.com/amp/s/abcnews.go.com/amp/US/waitress-abducted-assaulted-chasing-people-ran-70-bill/story%3fid=78397400

A waitress was allegedly abducted and assaulted by a group of five people after chasing them down when they walked out on their $70 bill.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, at the Nifty Fifty’s in Turnersville located in Washington Township, New Jersey, when police say the 20-year-old waitress was taken away in a vehicle for a short time after confronting a group she had served in the restaurant, according to ABC News’ Philadelphia station WPVI.

Surveillance footage obtained by WPVI shows the woman being pulled into the White Dodge Durango as one person flees the vehicle before it pulls away with the waitress inside.

"They pulled her into the vehicle and assaulted her inside the vehicle," Washington Township Police Chief Patrick Gurcsik told WPVI in an interview following the incident. "The vehicle headed north on Route 42, made a U-turn and was heading south towards Monroe Township, and pushed her out of the vehicle.”

The five assailants in the car likely just made the worst mistake of their lives. There’s an excellent chance they’ll be caught, and in trying to avoid paying $14 each they went from misdemeanor theft to felony assault and kidnapping. I’m just glad it didn’t end up any worse for the waitress.

Disney is selling a product. Some people are willing to pay for it, others aren't.

What’s “stupid” about paying for such an experience if it’s worth it to you?

Some said they didn't know their thermostats were being accessed from afar until it was almost 80 degrees inside their homes.

HOUSTON — Some neighbors in the Houston area said their homes have been much warmer this week, even while they are running their air conditioners.

Many of them claim someone has been turning up the temperature on their thermostats since the energy shortage began.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas asked Texans to turn up the temperatures on their thermostats this week.

Disney's Little Mermaid Remake Has Already Received A Request From PETA

https://www.cinemablend.com/news/2569085/disney-little-mermaid-remake-has-already-received-request-peta-halle-bailey

Disney’s live-action version of The Little Mermaid is currently filming following a number of successful remakes from the studio’s Renaissance era. Although we’d expect the creatures Halle Bailey’s Ariel interacts with to be computer generated creatures of the sea, animal rights organization PETA is concerned about one aspect of the film and has sent out a letter to Disney with a particular request.

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) penned a letter to Disney’s head of production, Sean Bailey, asking that the Little Mermaid production refrain from serving fish to its cast and crew while they film in Sardinia, Italy over the summer. As the PETA letter noted:

Disney’s The Little Mermaid got it right in 1989—fish are intelligent, emotionally complex, and playful, and they experience pain just like we do. I’m writing on behalf of the many Disney fans at PETA and animal advocates everywhere to ask that the live-action production be completely Flounder-friendly by providing only tasty, vegan, fish-free food for the cast and crew on set.

The letter written by PETA’s senior manager of animals in film and television, Lauren Thomasson, requests that The Little Mermaid adopt a vegan menu for its production. The organization shared that the easiest and most effective way humans can protect animals is through a plant-based diet, devoid of meat and dairy products. The letter went on to say this as well:

Gov. Abbott signs 'constitutional carry' bill allowing Texans to carry handguns without a permit

Source: Houston Chronicle

Gov. Greg Abbott has signed Texas’ “constitutional carry” legislation, allowing Texans over age 21 to openly carry handguns in public without a license starting Sept. 1.

The law, a huge win for guns rights advocates, was one of the most controversial measures passed this session. Bill supporters said the legislation would simply restore Second Amendment rights to law-abiding Texans, while critics have said the move will only lead to more gun violence.

Abbott signed the legislation Wednesday afternoon without immediate comment, per the state’s online bill tracker. His office sent out a media advisory shortly afterward, saying the governor would hold a ceremony in San Antonio on Thursday to sign off on several bills related to gun rights, including permitless carry.

The law will remove the state’s $40 fee to obtain a handgun license, and will also take away training requirements. While gun advocates say they aren’t against safety courses, they assert the training should be voluntary.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ocregister.com/2021/06/14/disneyland-increases-attendance-capacity-drops-masks-and-physical-distancing-as-pandemic-rules-end/amp/

Disneyland will increase attendance, drop mask requirements for vaccinated visitors, discontinue physical distancing and continue advance reservations as the state ends most COVID-19 health and safety measures.

Disney Parks Chief Medical Officer Pamela Hymel outlined the changes coming to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure once pandemic restrictions end in a letter issued to employees on Monday, June 14

The full reopening of the California economy on Tuesday, June 15 after a 15-month pandemic hibernation will allow theme parks in the state to return to full capacity and end most COVID-19 health and safety measures.

Disneyland will no longer require masks for fully vaccinated visitors starting on Tuesday. Unvaccinated Disneyland visitors are expected to continue to wear a mask — except while dining.
