"We're not targeting civilians."

And there went that talking point.
The family is dead.

Big snip ...

A car was fired upon by what appeared to be an Israeli tank on the outskirts of Gaza City, an eyewitness told NBC News on Monday, as the major ground offensive in the Palestinian enclave drew more international calls for civilians to be protected.

Freelance photographer Bashar Talib said he was traveling in a nearby vehicle on the Salah Al Deen road when the vehicle was hit.

Just as it starts to drive away in the opposite direction, the tank then fires a round that hits its back end and black smoke erupts.

The vehicle carrying Talib and Al-Saifi then turns around and drives away quickly. “The man is dead, a whole family,” they scream as it speeds up.

What about this as a solution to the conflict?

Something just occured to me.
💡💡💡💡💡💡
What about looking at the solution that brought peace & an end to the conflict in Northern Ireland as a way to end the conflict between Israel & Hamas?

Granted, that was a little before my time but from what I've read there seems to be pretty close parallels between the 2 conflicts & I've not seen anyone bring that conflict up as a path forward to ending all this.

What if this happened in Gaza? 👇🏽

"The conflict in Northern Ireland, often referred to as "The Troubles," officially ended with the signing of the Good Friday Agreement on April 10, 1998. The agreement was a peace deal negotiated between the governments of the United Kingdom and Ireland, as well as the political parties of Northern Ireland, including those representing both unionist and nationalist communities.

The Good Friday Agreement aimed to establish a power-sharing government in Northern Ireland, known as the Northern Ireland Assembly, with representation from both unionist and nationalist parties. It also included provisions for cross-border cooperation between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, as well as addressing issues like disarmament, justice, policing, and human rights.

Following the agreement, paramilitary groups on both sides, such as the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) and loyalist paramilitaries, gradually disarmed and disbanded. The violence and conflict significantly reduced, and the peace process gained momentum with the establishment of a devolved government in Northern Ireland.

Although sporadic incidents occurred in subsequent years, the Good Friday Agreement marked a significant turning point in the Northern Ireland conflict and laid the foundation for a more peaceful and democratic society in the region."

A stunning statistic

RAMALLAH, (Oct. 29, 2023)—The number of children reported killed in Gaza in just three weeks has surpassed the annual number of children killed across the world's conflict zones since 2019, Save the Children said.

Since October 7, more than 3,257 children have been reported killed, including at least 3,195 in Gaza, 33 in the West Bank, and 29 in Israel, according to the Ministries of Health in Gaza and Israel respectively. The number of children reported killed in just three weeks in Gaza is more than the number killed in armed conflict globally—across more than 20 countries—over the course of a whole year, for the last three years.

Children make up more than 40% of the 7,703 people killed in Gaza, and more than a third of all fatalities across the occupied Palestinian territory and Israel. With a further 1,000 children reported missing in Gaza assumed buried under the rubble, the death toll is likely much higher.
On Friday, Israeli forces announced “expanded ground operations” in the Gaza Strip, with Save the Children warning it will bring more deaths, injuries, and distress while calling for an immediate ceasefire.
