This is a follow-up on my Monday’s post.
Went to my supervisor of elections today after realizing my TrueID driver license number had been changed without notification during the last renewal in January…..the old number I’d held since 1968.
Upon arrival, I had to fill out new voter registration forms. I told the clerk that I hadn’t been notified by the Florida DMV of the change in my identity information and ask what would have happened if I just showed to vote in the next election. Her reply was it PROBABLY wouldn’t have affected my eligibility if I voted in person. The issue would arise with mail in voting.
I’ve notified friends and family, none who were aware of potential issues though several had new licenses issued with new numbers.
To all the DUers out there. Please check for any potential changes in your identity data and spread the word! I didn’t realize how devious the government could be in subverting voter eligibility. Thanks!

Florida drivers license renewal
I am a lifelong Florida resident, born and raised. I just had an experience that raised my hackles. I had to renew my drivers license in January. Everything went smoothly except my aging eyes weren’t quite as sharp as they were eight years ago. Anyway, I passed and received a new license.
This morning, I got an email from our local democratic coalition and there was a section indicating that new licenses would be assigned new ID numbers. I checked my license and sure enough, the number I was assigned in 1968 was no longer applicable. The email indicated that if I didn’t update my information with the supervisor of elections, it could impact my voting eligibility.
I seems to me that the state would inform you of the identification change, but not a word from the local DMV office. This seems to me that this is a direct assault on my voting rights. I was fortunate to be locally involved politically and was informed of the change albeit second hand. Pisses me off.
Anyway, I sent a slew of emails to family and friends to let them know. In addition, I sent an email to the Florida DMV asking to institute a policy letting people know of the change.
The fascists keep pushing.

I’ve read where the pretext of the attack on Iran is ‘Iran may have the capability of attacking with nuclear warheads atop of long range missiles’ within the next decade. In contrary opinions, some experts have said that Iran held no plausible threat to the US in the next ten years. The attacks were contrived using tenuous scenarios to attain yet unclear objectives…..though I’m sure it ties in with this administration’s lust for enriching themselves and complete control.
This administration has decided to preempt any hint of threat, credible or not, using ‘police actions’. I wonder how many US citizens may deemed a plausible threat in the next ten years……and what the response will be. Finally, how do we rationalize the loss of lives to facilitate these illegal actions? It’s insane!
Spielberg’s movie appears to be an accurate foretelling.

ala Soylent Green, Logan’s Run, and Blade Runner to name a few. It’s OK, all is well. Ignore everything around you and learn to accept that you’re happy.
The dystopian future nearing….unless we stop it. STAND UP for the next eight months and let’s change the direction to encompass humane values and end war.

Pardon my Boomer sensibilities
I admit it….my grasp of the impact of social media had been muted by my lifestyle…..I just have never been interested in these platforms. I’ve never ‘liked’ or indulged in anyone’s need for acceptance.
I’ve recently come to realize how pervasive opposing ideas have come to rule a big portion of the country. It’s amazing to see there are many subsets there are, influencers and podcasters each clamoring for attention to ameliorate their insecurity….look at me, I have ten gazillion followers! There’s even haters hating haters because they are not completely in agreement. There are so many groundless postulations and morons eat it up. As to the followers, can’t they think for themselves? It seems too few are self directed anymore.
The orange menace has exacerbated this mess….it loves creating schisms and the resulting chaos. Orrex, I hope your hopes are soon realized. I’m frustrated and ranting……and waiting. Think I’ll pour a good portion of dark rum, go to the bow and sit in my chair hammock until the sun sets.

Apparently supporting students protesting ICE is a crime
A South Carolina woman was arrested for posting support online for anti-ICE students planning a school walkout. Law enforcement contends she was influencing disruptive and violent behavior by the students. The powers that be continue to suppress free speech…..I hope the court sees it that way.

If they truly believed...
If people adamantly adhered to their religious beliefs then the world would be a better place. If I thought for one second that there was a supreme being proffering judgment on my actions, I would diligently follow the religious dogma. However, most people seem to espouse religion as a showpiece in their lives, conveniently and deceptively embracing it to gain favor. This is why I walked away from the religious hypocrisy years ago and I’m better off without it. I can face each day knowing I’m not deceiving anyone……my own personal religion.

The story behind this bigoted gaffe has meandered all over the place from it's a joke to it’s a mistake. The orange POS continues to defy social norms without consequence. Accountability has to be instituted soon.
