CareyOn's JournalLongfellow's poem sounds midnight alarm on senate floor.
Last night as I was watching Jeff Merkley speak on the senate floor, I was moved when he broke into his ongoing remarks to read from "The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere". He did this as the midnight hour moved west and he named the states who were at midnight. By the way, he is still speaking.
My house is on fire.
I am in the kitchen and the flames are in the back corner of the house. Since the fire should not reach me
for awhile, I am going to sit here at the table and write an extremely strong worded letter to the fire department insisting they address this problem ASAP. And because I am in some distress I will not even
eat my lunch sandwich before I head out to the post office.
AARGH!
I guess my frustration is showing. Lack of mobility is not helping. Arousal of this nation is too slow for the time we have left. I do appreciate the many who are trying, but we need so much more.
I cannot access my SS account.
Last night I printed some of the pages, but now I wish I had also taken pictures. Just a few minutes ago my husband was in the process of printing from his account and now his account is shut down. We got our payment a few days early.
Thank you for the hearts!
After lurking for so many years and watching from the outside, the hearts felt really good.
Yes, it sure took me a long time
I have been reading here since the late Bush years. I have learned so much from all of you, but never felt I had that much to offer and so did not join. Then I finally realized yesterday I should be more supportive of this site that has given me so much, so I became a gold star member. I was a Bernie supporter, but am very excited I could vote for a woman. Feeling hopeful and wearing white today.
I will become a great grandma this spring and am still furious that the debates had not one question about climate change. That said, I am thrilled to be here and would encourage others who are in the lurking pattern to become a member. It feels good!
