The Democratic Party needs a Leader now

I mean, sure, there are lots of Democratic Voices, but this practice of holding Primaries and picking a candidate six months before the presidential election is nonsense. Primaries divide parties (remember Sanders/Clinton?) and six months before a presidential election is no time to be dividing the party.

I want to know who my candidate will be NOW. I want him/her to be out there NOW, uniting the party and leading when we need it most. People need time to wrap their heads around a presidential candidate and get behind them. Six months just doesn't cut it.

Primaries for minority parties should be held two years prior to presidential elections.

We Dems deserve a Leader now, and while we have scores of much appreciated democratic voices (Schiff, Swallwell, Lieu, Pelosi, et al), it just feels like we don't have one. And I've never needed a Leader more.

Just MHO, but food food for thought.

Michael Cohen suggests he's never been approached by the Feds. . .

Now, I'm no expert, but I don't understand why Mueller hasn't reached out to him yet. His friends are saying he's ready to sing, with Donnie Deutsch going so far as suggesting Cohen might be able to connect some dots in the Russia investigation. At this point, Cohen seems ripe for the picking. I say, let's see what he's got, before 45 sees the error of his ways and picks up Cohen's legal tab in return for his silence.

Out of the mouths of babes. . .

Last week, my 8 year old granddaughter invited an Hispanic classmate over to play at our house. When they walked in, I was watching MSNBC and 45 was on the television. The little girl stared at the screen for a few moments, then said, "I don't like Donald Trump." Caught off-guard, I asked her why. She replied, matter-of-factly, "He hates us and wants to send us back to Mexico."

I didn't know what to say. After an awkward pause, the girls turned and headed off to my granddaughter's room to play. Imagine having to grow up in a country thinking your president hates you. It almost made me want to cry.

But I'm too old to cry. . .

Fuck Trump and anyone who supports him!!!

Trump wants suggestions from "kneeling athletes" on who to pardon. . .

How about pardoning Colin Kaepernick?

I mean, I realize he hasn't done anything wrong or been convicted of a crime, but maybe if trump pardons him, the sycophants running the NFL will let him play again.

Walker accuses Wisconsin Democrats of 'anger and hatred'

http://www.miamiherald.com/news/politics-government/national-politics/article208428599.html

You're absolutely right, Governor. And it's not just 'Wisconsin" Democrats.

We hate Republicans for supporting a lying, racist, morally-reprehensible traitor for President.
We hate Republicans for diminishing America's standing on the World Stage.
We hate Republicans for trying to make basic healthcare unaffordable to the majority of Americans.
We hate Republicans for leaving the Paris Climate Accord, dismantling the EPA, and abolishing DACA.
We hate Republicans for attacking the cornerstones of our institutions, like the Military, the Justice Department, The FBI and the CIA. We hate Republicans because of their constant catering to the Rich, and their virtual abandonment of the rest of the country. But most of all, we hate the Lying: the constant barrage of falsehoods that emanate from Donald Trump and everyone else associated with this corrupt administration.

And yes, we're "angry" about it. Justifiably so.

And you are one of the hypocritical swamp creatures that created this situation, so don't complain. You're reaping what you've sown. Deal with it. You and your party are no longer just the opposition, you're now the enemy of our country, so congratulations. See you in November, Dickhead!!!

(Rant over)

Grrrrrr --

Sigh.

Angry about gun Violence? Help Rep. Swalwell in his bid to ban assault assault rifles.

It's only a twitter poll Swalwell started, but he's taking the results to congress, so lets help him get some BIG NUMBERS! When I last checked, about 47,000 people had weighed in, and they were 97% in favor of an assault weapon ban. Only seven hours left to poll. Good Luck, America, and Thank You Eric Swalwell for fighting the Good Fight! Let's support him. . .

Seeking advice on Twitter use

I have had a Twitter account for more than a year, and just made my first post today, thanking Diane Feinstein for releasing the Fusion GPS documents. Over the past year, I have held my tongue and not posted anything defamatory about anything or anyone, including our Twitter-loving, "alleged" President. Long story short, I am thinking of tweeting directly to certain GOP politicians (@ChuckGrassley, @LinseyGraham, @DevinNunez, @JeffSessions, even @DonaldTrump).

Something along the lines of. . .

Dear @Whomever, By now, it is clearly obvious that you are either owned by Russia, being blackmailed by Russia, or are simply a Traitor. Either way, you are a disgrace to America. I would strongly encourage you to resign before it gets worse. And we both know, it WILL get worse. #Resist #Impeach #Indict

So here's my question(s) for anyone in the know:

What might the response be to a tweet like this? I'm not worried about being "blocked", but I don't want to start any wars, either. As I've said, I've never tweeted anyone until this morning, and I have a total of 5 followers (1 cousin and four peeps I don't know), but the notion that I can send a tweet directly to one of these treason weasels, and that someone in their orbit might actually read it, is getting too much to #resist!

Please, stop me before I tweet again! Thank you
