Kudos to morning Joe today for calling out coverage of Trump

Believe it or not.... they are talking about how media has normalized coverage of dump by not calling him out as a liar/terrorist/criminal for fear of being ridiculed by FOX as being "Partisan".

MSNBC Both siderisms

I was just listening to Balart. He had a guest on who was asked about the ruling on Hunter and he went to "that's why no wants either Trump or Biden because of all this legal baggage" and he even spouted off about how Biden was being investigated for having secret documents. Etc.. Fuck MSNBC. I just shut it off.

There's no way in hell you can equate the slob father and Biden, but they just tried.

Senate investigation into Brett Kavanaugh

So now they have proof that he lied, what the hell do they intend to do about it? This is such bullshit. They do all these investigations, come up with real evidence, then do NOTHING! Rinse and repeat.

OMG! So many unsolicited text messages from Tr**p assholes trying to fundraise on the "injustice"

What total bullshit! And you can't stop them either - even though it says to text "STOP", it's just ignored. These have got to be completely BOT generated with random numbers. Grift grift grift that all this bastard does. I can't wait until he's wearing orange.

The dam has broken. It won't take long for more Tr**p indictments

Now that he’s been indicted other judicial actions don’t have to worry about being the first. Now there should be a piling-on effect to follow. I hope

Why isn't there more outrage about Georgia GOP interfering with prosecutors to protect T***p

WTF !? Listened to this on Maddow last night and was more depressed than ever. What the hell are we waiting for SOMEONE indict that bastard and bring him to justice! It sure as hell isn't going to be Garland et al in his org. They have enough on dump to put him away for a thousand years - just fucking do it!!!

Plan to incinerate soil from Ohio train derailment is 'horrifying', says expert

Contaminated soil from the site around the East Palestine train wreck in Ohio is being sent to a nearby incinerator with a history of clean air violations, raising fears that the chemicals being removed from the ground will be redistributed across the region.

The new plan is “horrifying”, said Kyla Bennett, a former Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) official now with the Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility non-profit. She is one among a number of public health advocates and local residents who have slammed Norfolk Southern and state and federal officials over the decision.

OK, I don't often find myself siding with big business, in this case the rail industry, but this is EXACTLY the right thing to do with contaminated soil. It's NOT incineration as the article would have you believe, it's heat treating the soil to burn off the contaminates. After this type of treatment, the soil can be returned to the site. I've been in EPA waste related industries for years now and this is the right way to do the clean up. The only thing I can recognize as bad here is that the facility doing the treatment has a less than stellar reputation. That does not mean this won't work.

Ford seeks to remotely repossess cars after missed payments in US patent

Behind on your car payments? Your car could soon be driving itself to the pound. Ford Motor Company has applied for a patent that would enable a computer to disable a vehicle or component of a vehicle over delinquent car payments and could lead to cars self-driving themselves to repossession lots.

The patent application published last month claims to seek a solution to car owners being unwilling to have their vehicles repossessed by remotely disabling the vehicle or a component of the vehicle if a delinquency notice isn’t acknowledged over a certain period of time.

“When an acknowledgement is not received within a reasonable period of time, the first computer may disable a functionality (radio, air-conditioner, etc) or may place the vehicle in a lockout condition,” states the patent application published in February as part of a public review of the patent process.

. . . . . .

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2023/mar/03/ford-reposses-patent-remote-lock

An idea that will backfire spectacularly if they decide to build it into Ford cars. The reason this is a bad idea is because it invites hackers to decode how to disable your car and force you to pay a ransom to unlock it. Yes, Ford may come out with a patch to fix it, but it will be an ongoing maintenance nightmare for them over time.

Not "a better idea".

Roald Dahl books rewritten to remove language deemed offensive

Roald Dahl books rewritten to remove language deemed offensive

Roald Dahl’s children’s books are being rewritten to remove language deemed offensive by the publisher Puffin.

Puffin has hired sensitivity readers to rewrite chunks of the author’s text to make sure the books “can continue to be enjoyed by all today”, resulting in extensive changes across Dahl’s work.

Edits have been made to descriptions of characters’ physical appearances. The word “fat” has been cut from every new edition of relevant books, while the word “ugly” has also been culled, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Augustus Gloop in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is now described as “enormous”. In The Twits, Mrs Twit is no longer “ugly and beastly” but just “beastly”.

Give me a f'ing break!! I'm sure Dajl is rolling in his grave. I don't often side with repukes, but this looks like "woke" to me.

Garland will not indict Trump, and here's why...

If they indict him, he will not be a viable candidate in 2024. If they leave him as is, then he splits the republican party and DeSantis doesn't have a chance of winning. If the republicans take Trump out of the mix, then DeSantis becomes a strong contender and possibly unites the party and wins in 2024.

Just a theory, but plausible. Personally, I think they should lock Trump up and throw away the key and then the Dem's should crow about being the law and order party. Unfortunately, the red part of this country isn't all that bright and would probably be corralled by Fox news into voting against their best interests as usual.
