Trump Train: Show of Support vs. Show of Force

Many of us have seen and heard about the Trump Train parades going on all over the country. There was one here in my county. I commented on it. There was one in the county south of me. They were all over Illinois and the rest of the country.

There is a big difference between the Trump Trains and the people who show up to cheer Biden.

We offer a show of support. They offer a show of force.

This country is so divided.

Trump Parade

Yesterday, I spent my time cleaning bathrooms and doing laundry. By the end of the afternoon, I wanted to watch the World Series. I did not want to cook. My husband went into town to a local restaurant to pick up some takeout. We would like to keep this restaurant in business, and they have good tacos.

Little did he know that there was a trumper parade going on. There were about a dozen of those fools, flying their trump flags and their confederate flags from their pickups and honking up a storm. He could not tell if they were local or imported assholes.

He went inside and picked up the tacos. I hope he was not in contact with any of the maskless morons. I worry about him.

On the way back to his truck, he noticed that one of the morons had an especially stupid vanity plate. It said, "IM ARMD."

Get it? I'm Armed.

What in the everlasting flaming hell? Every farmer up and down my road is armed. Some of us are good shots, too. Don't they realize that? We have critters who damage our yards, crops and buildings. They kill our barn cats, scatter garbage and eat all the sweet corn out of the garden. Of course we are armed! We don't have to brag about it.

Also, when we have time, some of us like to hunt. A little extra meat in the freezer is very helpful in the winter. This might be just the year to have something put away.

Don't they realize that a good many Democrats, like my husband, are veterans? You would not believe what a good shot he is! He doesn't find it necessary to brag about it. He doesn't need to imply that he is willing to shoot people who oppose him politically.

I am a 72 year old farmer's wife. I am five foot nothing, and I am armed, too, you dickless wonders.

I feel no need to be afraid of these noisy nobodies. November 3 will be here soon.

Even though I am far more likely to shoot you with the garden hose, I'm armed. Go home to mamma, little boys. You are a joke.

Worried about poll watchers

and militia members intimidating voters?

Here is what to do:

The statute is 10 ILCS 5/17-23.

My brother called me from DuPage County

this morning. He received his ballot, voted for Democrats, and turned it in at the county offices, placing it in the drop box. Apparently there are long lines there, and he did not want to vote that way. He says several of his neighbors have turned in their ballots as well.

We grew up in West Chicago, which was mostly republican at the time. He has facebook friends from our time there. Many of them are staunch republicans. He says the tax business has turned several of them around. They will not vote for trump now. They are angry. He thinks most of them will not vote at all.

Yay! New Biden/Harris sign

I live in a big farm house on a hill. We are on a busy road. Today, a four foot by four foot Biden/Harris sign joined all my other signs for local and state candidates.

We live in a red area, but a lot of people have been driving by, honking and waving in approval.

The Loch Ness monster

does not live in a swamp. He lives in a nice, freshwater loch.*

Anyway, Junior, he is folklore, a figment of the imagination.

Lay off the coke.

*For those who could not bring themselves to watch the repiggie convention: Junior called Biden the Loch Ness Monster of the swamp.

Letters of support for candidates.

I have been asked to write several of these letters. Of course I will do it.

But are they effective? What do you think?

Residents turn out to show support for police.

Around 50 people walk around Ogle County Courthouse

Around 50 people took to the sidewalks around the Ogle County Courthouse on June 20 to let local law enforcement officers know they have their support.

"We just wanted to show support for our police, fire and EMTs," said Dian Schrimpsher of Oregon, who suggested the event with her husband, Gary, on social media.

Those attending the "Police Appreciation Walk" walked around the historic courthouse square carrying signs that read, " Ogle County Supports Our Police" and "We Support and Pray for Our Police."

"I just mentioned it on a Facebook group," Gary said of the event. "I'm not an organizer. this isn't by me - it's by the community. You just see on TV everybody kicking the cops down and that's not what average Americans want. We're not disagreeing with anybody, except cop haters, the ones you see on TV throwing rocks and things."

Leave it to my county to be out of step with the rest of the country and the rest of the world. Read some of the stupid comments and be glad you don't know any of those people.

And not a mask in sight.

Would I be a Karen if I went into a grocery store and refused

to be checked out by a store clerk not wearing a mask?
