Medicare Supplemental Insurance

am enrolled in traditional Medicare, have 5 months to select a Medicare Supplemental policy. focusing on Plans G and N, and the high-deductible Plan G. my health is good and I'm fortunate to have pretty good means. high-deductible seems appealing to me, as its cost is low and covers me over the $2800 deductible. seems like exactly the situation insurance (big financial hit) is for. but when researching plans, virtually every website seems to steer visitors to more expensive plans (I wonder why, lol). I'm going to call Medicare for advice on this issue in the very near future. but if anyone has been down this path and cares to share their experience, I'd really welcome it. thanks

and just to be crystal clear, not interested in any discussion of Medicare "Advantage"

Starting Medicare (original) in a few days. Looking for dental insurance/dental savings plan

Any advice is welcome. Have been on MetLife Dental PPO for decades. I'm very lucky, nothing beyond occasional fillings. OTOH, my newly retired spouse has a small fortune in dental work (numerous crowns).

The seemingly good articles I've found do not bear up with reality (the coverage and cost aren't even close to the same when I solicit a quote). Well aware that costs/coverage vary by state, age, gender, but I'm seeing pretty ridiculous disparities.

if Harris gets the nomination, she should pick Pete as her VP

and, FWIW, I hope she does (get the nomination)

Cal Cunningham

As much as I loathe Sinema, Cunningham should bear an equal level of frustration with the status quo. What a clusterfuck!

Manchin, being from deep red WV, is in a different category. Believe me, I get the frustration there. But no Manchin, Turtle's in charge, nothing gets done.

noob intro

I'm a noob here, but have been heavily following politics for most of my nearly 60 years. Very happy with the 2018 midterms and quite hopeful about 2020. Been lurking here for ~3+ years, it's time to join the party.

About splunge63

Turning 60 (holy crap!!!) soon. Happily married (for 27 years), don't ask the missus (YMMV), lol. 5 kids, all in college (gulp!) Eldest becomes a doctor of pharmacy in May. 2 dogs (and many departed, sadly). Proud 3rd gen Greek-American (with a quarter Swedish thrown in). Lifelong Chicagoan (save for a Houston detour when I finished undergrad). BS in CS, College of Engineering, Univ of Illinois, UC. MM Kellogg, Northwestern. Voted every election since eligible (save for a few local ones). Many interests, politics is near the top. Ideology: socially progressive, financially less so (but far from conservative). That's all I got.
