So they want to search other Biden properties?

But they cannot search Trump Tower or any other Trump properties?

Biden should tell them "not without a search warrant". Of course, Republicans would be screaming for a search warrant.

Then Democrats insist on a search warrant for Trump's golf course and Trump Tower.

That would be fair.

Does the Biden document controversy help or hurt the Republicans?

Naturally, it doesn't help Biden, on its face.

But, Republicans that look to make hay from the discovery of documents at Biden's house have a difficult tale to sell.

Republicans seem to believe that their base and their supporters know none of the details about the Trump documents case, or why the search warrant was given to the DOJ for Mar-a-Lago, or the types of documents that Trump had taken?

They seem to believe that they can make their supporters believe that the Biden case is much worse than the Trump case? Granted, they may have watched nothing but FOX and right -wing news but the Mar-a-Lago details are pretty much in the public domain.

For that reason, in my opinion, the more the Republicans attack Biden on the documents, the more it exposes their own hypocrisy.

Could a moderate like Gov. Andy Beshear of Kentucky succeed on a national ticket?

If not at the top of the ticket, as the VP nominee?

I read that he may be the most popular Governor in the entire country?

It seems the Democrats might be wise to use that to their advantage?

If the Biden "lawyers" turned over the documents to the Archives and to the DOJ...?

Why would they then turn them over to the press?

Eventually, CBS and NBC got word of the documents but did they get their information from someone at the National Archives, or perhaps the Dept of Justice?

How do we know the DOJ would want them to inform the press at the time of discovery?

How surprised were Garland and the Special Counsel when they discovered classified documents..?

..at the home and office of Joe Biden?

Did they curse under their breath or out loud?

It could not help but hurt the MAL stolen documents investigation. The effects might even seep into other investigations?

In my opinion, the impact will be that Donald Trump will not be charged with holding classified documents, but will be charged for obstruction, for holding them after he was requested by the National Archives to return them, and obstructing the search, even after a subpoena from the DOJ. Even after a search warrant, he was still holding classified documents. His lawyers conspired to lie to the FBI.

But, it has not helped the case of Merrick Garland or the Special Counsel Smith, as they do not wish to spend a lot of time debating the "documents" from each side. Time is not their ally.

They may just decide to move on, without that charge in their quiver.

Trump has gone completely off the rails with his attacks on Special Counsel and his family...

It seems that the appointment of the Special Counsel to investigate Biden for possession of classified documents has thrown him completely off the tracks. Why would that be?

One would think that would be good for him and help neutralize the charges against him?

But, for Trump, it takes away his "victim" defense. It's hard for him to cry "victim" when they are investigating the President also. It removes one of his weapons.

So, he attacks the Special Counsel. He calls him a "criminal". His wife is a "Trump hater". His wife's Sister is also a "Trump hater'. As are their friends.

Therefore, since they are all "Trump haters", they must be wrong. It somehow makes him innocent against all the charges?

That seems to be about the best he can come up with at this time.

He has jumped the shark.

How long will it take Hur to finish his investigation of the documents Biden turned over to DOJ ?

There doesn't seem to be a lot that needs to be investigated?

Who packed the documents?

Was it a purposeful act?

Did Biden do the right thing by turning over the documents to the DOJ or the Archives?

It is difficult to not make the contrast.

However the investigations turn out, Joe Biden cannot be prosecuted as the sitting President..

...until at least January 20, 2025.

The same cannot be said for Donald Trump.

This is the rule that was used for Donald Trump while he was president.

At this time, it doesn't matter what the Special Counsel might rule in the Biden investigation.

If Trump is prosecuted sometime in the next year, there is no requirement that Joe Biden has to be prosecuted.

Joe Biden is not on Donald Trump's time schedule.

This is the situation if we were to consider the very worst from the Biden investigation.

Is there a double standard between Joe Biden and Donald Trump?

If Donald Trump had done the same thing that Joe Biden has done, and turned over all the documents that were in his possession and did it in a timely manner, would he have been investigated by a Special Counsel? Most folks say "no".

Biden is being investigated for something that Donald Trump would not have been investigated for, under the same circumstances.

That is the definition of a "double standard".
