How do we move on as a country if Trump is "pardoned" or "not pardoned"?

Former FBI Director James Comey has said it is something we might want to think about? But, even if a "pardon" was offered, how do we know it would be accepted? After all, how can you be pardoned for something you didn't do? That would be Trump's argument.

If he is not pardoned and is prosecuted at either the state or federal level, Republicans - especially the Trump base - would not accept such an offer or such a prosecution. At this time, it would create even more division and dissension.

That is where we find ourselves at this time in history.

Is this a time where "the wheels of justice turn slowly, but grind exceedingly fine"?

Is this a conversation the nation should or should not have? Why?

As it is said in Ecclesiastes, "there is a time for everything..."

I would love to see this question in a poll.

In the final analysis, the nation should come to a conclusion that justice applies to everyone.

What else do you feel you need to know about the J6 insurrection?

How much is left to know?

The central act behind the entire January 6th insurrection was the fraudulent ballots that were to be presented by Mike Pence on January 6th. They were pressuring him right up until the last moment.

When Trump was giving his speech at the Ellipse, he still not know if Pence was going to send the ballots back to the state legislatures or if he was going to give the electoral votes to Biden? But he had a hunch that Pence was not going to do what he wanted. That made him very angry and it came out in his speech to his mob.

We still do not know what the "war room" was tasked to do? Did they know about the weapons that were stashed across the river? Did they expect Trump to activate the Insurrection Act?

What else would you like to know?

I saw an interesting poll on Morning Joe this morning.

It said that 56% of Republicans supported the Republican Party and only 36% supported Donald Trump.

Isn't that a dramatic change from just a few months ago? Seems I recall that over 90% of Republicans supported Trump last time a poll was taken?

Regardless, 36% is not strong support for someone that claims to own the Party. Maybe some of them are waking up?

What are the odds that Trump is still communicating with Putin and the oligarchs?

Did it all end when he was defeated in the last election?

Did he get assistance with his strategy to overthrow the government?

Or was the whole Russian "collusion" thing overblown?

Does anyone know who he is communicating with from Mar-a-Lago?

Is Putin and Russia all a part of the past?

The inability of Americans to recognize insanity and criminality when they see it.

When people try to tell you that they are crazy as a shithouse rat, believe them.

When they tell you on tape that they want to steal, or want someone else to steal 11,780 votes, then that is criminal. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

When they make a public statement that they want their VP investigated because he refused to help them over-throw an election, there is something not right about that.

When they sit back and watch TV as the Capitol police are beaten up, and enjoy every minute of it, when they could have stopped it, then there is something criminal and insane about that.

When they lie to others and to themselves about something that cannot be proven, then they are not well.

When they attempt to overthrow our government to satisfy the ego of one person, there is something criminal about that. There is no need to study it deeply.

When they say they would like to pardon all the criminals that attacked our Capitol, they are insane.

When they are able to persuade others to commit mail fraud and forgery, by mailing in fake ballots to the National Archives, they are criminal.

Americans seem to be incapable of recognizing this criminality and it is killing us.

Are Republicans traitors?

I honestly believe that if it was discovered tomorrow that Trump was communicating with Vladimir Putin about the Big Lie and how to steal the election and the FBI had it on tape, they would still stick with that lyin' POS.

That would be all the proof most Americans would need to put him in prison, but not the Republicans in the House or his base. He would tell them it is "fake news" and they would believe him.

They are part of a cult and they will never change their minds, regardless of how much evidence is produced. Just like the Covid, that is a reality which we will have to live with.

Republicans' silent collusion

If there were a hundred M&Ms in a bowl, and 50 of them were poison, would you gamble and eat just one M&M?

That is what Americans are choosing to do in regards to the Republican Party. They are willing to gamble with the future of America and our democracy. Why?

Are the Democrats that terrible?

Why do so many people choose the poison M&M's? Is it a matter of choice or are they simply ignorant?

The silence from the Republicans, about what is happening to our country, is nothing short of betrayal.

It is sad that Democratic leaders cannot create a message that these Republican voters would listen to. Sometimes it seems like our country is on auto-pilot and nobody cares that we are headed towards a fatal crash.

Sometimes it is just too depressing to contemplate.

It now appears that the Oath Keepers were waiting for the declaration of the Insurrection Act.

That was the purpose of the Executive Orders.

Once Trump signed either of the Executive Orders, the Oath Keepers and the militias would have brought in their guns from the Virginia side and would have taken over the Capitol under the cover of the Insurrection Act.

Perhaps that was their plan?

Is there any more news on this subject?
