Known for his propensity to project others on his own shortcomings, we can only assume that he is a very, very, sick person.

This is insanity.

He is a national security threat.

A blanket cover-up

Like all criminals, give them time and they will attempt to cover their tracks.

The first attempt to cover up was the hiring of AG Barr as Attorney General.

The next attempt was to have the AG declare the Mueller Report null and void and to declare "no collusion and no obstruction" by Mr Trump.

The next attempt was to oppose every subpoena from the Congress, who is charged with oversight of the Executive Branch.

The next attempt was to declare some sort of executive privilege where none exists.

Now they want to put a blanket over all of their crimes and misdeeds, so that not a speck of light can get through.

Maybe the next attempt will be plastic surgery??

Congress should put pressure on Barr...

By sending criminal contempt charges to his DoJ for every person that ignores a subpoena. They could start with Steven Mnuchin if he does not turn over the tax forms on May 6.

Barr would be inclined to not agree with the Congress. He would tend to agree with his Boss, the Executive. However, this could be another contempt of Congress charge or obstruction of Justice charge against AG Barr by refusing the constitutional right of Congress to oversight. It would not be a slamdunk for Trump and Barr. The Courts might not agree with Barr in this situation? The law is on the side of the Congress.

But it would show the White House and the DoJ that Congress is willing to fight to preserve their powers guaranteed by the Constitution. It would also cause AG Barr to think twice before he does the bidding of Trump.

Does Donald Trump work for America, for Russia, or for Donald Trump??

There is very little that we know about the "counter-intelligence" investigation.

In foreign policy, does Donald Trump work for America?

Or does he work for Russia and his other foreign interests?

Or does he work for Donald Trump?

Is he compromised by some foreign adversary?

Is it really in America's interests to build nuclear power plants across Saudi Arabia and the Middle East? There have been suspicions since before the meeting in the Seychelles with Erik Prince and the Russian oligarch.

Is Donald Trump working for America's interests in North Korea? Or is Russia attempting some sort of geo-political balance with China, a long-time ally of North Korea? It did raise eyebrows when Kim Jong Un rode a train to Vladivostok this week to meet with Vladimir Putin? Also, it was suspicious that the Russian Prime Minister, Lavrov, was reportedly in Hanoi when Trump had his aborted summit with Kim?

There are many questions still lingering about the butchering of the Washington Post journalist, Khashoggi, by a group of assassins led by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, who happens to be a good friend of Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law.

He still maintains his dual Towers in Turkey and that raises questions about whose interests he is supporting in that part of the world?

There are still many questions about Mr Trump that have yet to be answered.

Delving Deeper into the Trump Strategy

Donald Trump had been trying to end the Mueller investigation since the day it began.

When AG Barr declared there was no collusion and no obstruction, they thought that would finally be the end of it. The Mueller Report was the definitive response. They celebrated and called for apologies from those that disagreed with them.

But then, people read the Mueller Report.

It was not as definitive as Trump and Barr wanted.

The Congress wanted to talk to witnesses.

But Trump wanted the investigation to end. He repeated over and over that there was no collusion and no obstruction. Didn't the people hear what his new Attorney General said? This was supposed to be over.

Then, he started attacking Mueller once again. He started talking about the "witch hunt" and saying that they investigated for two years and that was enough.

After reading the Mueller report, Congress decided they would subpoena Don McGahn and Robert Mueller as the first witnesses. Trump exploded!

He would not obey any subpoenas from the Congress! After all, they were very partisan. He said he would take it to the Supreme Court. He ordered his staff and former staff to ignore any subpoenas they got from Congress. He said he was going to sue Rep. Elijah Cummings.

The calls for impeachment arose in the House and even Senator Elizabeth Warren said it was time to impeach. It was about principle, not politics, she said.

But on closer inspection, it appears that Donald Trump wants to put everything into the Courts. He believes if the Democrats were to impeach him, the Republicans would defend him in the Senate. He thinks that would only make him stronger.

However, if the Democrats take everything to Court, they can delay action up to and beyond the next election. That is his strategy. Delay and delay. He believes that is the secret to him winning the next election.

Try to imagine the debate in the Senate if the House impeached Trump

We would assume that the debate in the House would cover most of the charges in the Mueller Report plus others, such as the emolument clause, which was not addressed by Mueller.

Also, at this time, Trump and his supporters are arguing that it is over, that
It is time to "move on". The Mueller report was definitive in its conclusions, as stated by AG Barr.

But suppose Mueller contradicts Barr's conclusions? What would be the Republican's defense in not convicting Donald Trump? How do they defend the attack by the Russians on our election system in 2016? How would they defend Donald Trump accepting the help of the Russians?

What would be their best argument?

Considering that there are more than twenty Republican Senators up for re-election, how would they vote, especially if Trump's polls were in the 30's, where they are at this moment?

I think it would be a very tough case to defend.

Will Trump stop Mueller from testifying before the Congress?

Will he claim that he is part of the Executive Branch and he is prohibiting him from testifying, just as he is prohibiting McGahn from testifying?

Will both of them agree with their Republican president?

We like to think not, but I am not so sure?

We would like to think that both Mueller and McGahn will put their country over politics. It is unfortunate that we have to wait a month to find out?

If oversight was in the Executive Branch, we would have a King...

But in their wisdom, the Founders put oversight into the hands of the people's Representatives, the Congress of the United States.

One of the powers of oversight is the right to subpoena for documents and information the Congress perceives to be in the interest of the people and our nation.

Donald Trump does not seem to understand that simple principle from the Founders?

If it does go to Court, I think he will learn a very important history lesson. America kicked out King George in 1776 and created a government of, by, and for the People. They did not choose to be ruled by a King.

When the Congress requests testimony from someone, private citizen or someone in the Executive Branch, they have the right to subpoena that person to appear before the Congress. That is a power given to the Representatives in our Congress.

Congress has subpoenaed Don McGahn to appear before them. They are on solid constitutional ground and Donald Trump is standing in quicksand, if he thinks he has the power to deny Congress this right. The Courts, if they follow our Constitution, will not follow the direction of a wannabe King.

The press needs to put pressure on the Republicans in the Senate.

They are the guardians of our democracy and they need to corner these Republicans and find out exactly what they are thinking?

Are they aware of the crisis we are entering?

Are they content to remain silent?

How far are they willing to go to protect our nation?

How far are they willing to go to protect a threat to our national security.

It is a lot to ask from the press, but they need to put heat on the Republicans. They have divorced themselves from the entirety of our government, it seems?

They cannot escape responsibility.
