Aristus's Journal6am every weekday morning, I'm driving down River Road to get to work in Tacoma.
In summer, as I drive by the Puyallup River, I see dozens of guys in hip-waders out in the middle of the river fishing.
6am.
On a weekday.
I just want to shout "Get a job!" as I drive by.
Or do they have jobs?
Do they just like to get in a little fishing before work?
Because I like to get in a little shaving before work.
I like to get in a little breakfast before work.
Odd...
My wife and I were having a political discussion,
and twice, I absently referred to Mike Pence as "Mike Trump".
Once again, I owe Trump more than I could ever repay by turning Mrs. Aristus, once a staunch conservative evangelical Christian Republican, into an ardent liberal Democrat...
I may have helped things along in the course of twenty-one years of marriage, but Trump provided the coup de grace.
I'm a veteran. I don't mind that Trump thinks I'm a loser and a sucker.
If Trump expressed admiration and respect for me, I'd start to wonder what it was I was doing wrong...

I saw a Biden flag on the way to work today!
Big ole BIDEN 2020! flag on a Jeep just pulling into a parking lot as I passed by.
I didn't want to honk, and anything I shouted out my window in support might have been misconstrued.
But YAY!
