Aristus's JournalPeople sometimes forget who else suffered on 9/11/2001.
I just visited with a regular patient of mine who is Muslim. She was born in Yemen and raised in Dearborn, Michigan, and now lives in the Northwest. Every year around this time, she begins to get very anxious, and to display symptoms characteristic of PTSD. She admitted to me that she underwent a traumatic event in the wake of the 9/11/2001 attacks, but wouldn't specify what it was.
She has never undergone trauma counseling, but seeing her anxious, crying, and terrified of the memories the yearly remembrances provoke nearly broke my heart. She's the sweetest, nicest woman in the world, and some thundering, toxic clods no doubt took 9/11 out on her because she wears the niqab. I swear I hate the human race sometimes.
Anyway, please spare a thought for our Muslim brothers and sisters this September. It's important to remember that nearly every other Muslim in the world rose up and denounced the attack and the attackers as un-Islamic.
Friday Night Rum Buzz. Ask me anything.
Two shots of vodka to get the party started. Now a Honolulu Lulu. Light and dark rum, Kahlua, Frangelico, lime juice, and simple syrup. Yummy.
Absolutely thrashed after a crazy, overscheduled day in clinic. Bright side: I visited with a lot of nice, wonderful patients who like and trust me, and remind me why I got into this in the first place.
Im beat. Going to drink and relax a bit.
I love you all. More than you can ever know.
For all those right-wingers who want 'Civil War':
Your leaders are already surrendering in Atlanta again.
How many times do you want to do this?
A rant here because I can't rant anywhere else. Regarding the Star Wars Series "Ahsoka".
What drives me crazy? People spelling her name "Ashoka".
I can't fathom for a single moment why anyone would do that. the character of Ahsoka Tano debuted in the 2008 animated film "Star Wars: The Clone Wars", and became a regular in the TV animated series of the same name. She has also appeared in the animated series "Star Wars: Rebels" and also in the live action Disney Star Wars series "The Mandalorian" and "The Book Of Boba Fett".
In none of those screen appearances, at any time, has any character ever called her "Ashoka". In none of the official promotional materials has her name ever been spelled "Ashoka".
Why in the name of bleeding Jesus do people continue to insist on spelling her name "Ashoka"?
Fifteen years is a long time to continue to spell something incorrectly when the correct spelling is absolutely everywhere.
My clinical organization uses the EPIC medical software program. It just occurred to me:
When the system goes down, it's an EPIC failure!
Friday Night Rum Buzz. Ask me anything.
Enjoying an Acapulco tonight: rum, Cointreau, simple syrup, lime juice, and an egg white. Its my first attempt at a cocktail using egg. I like it.
The drink is delightfully frothy and smooth due to the egg white. Ill probably have this one again.
I hope you are all looking forward to the weekend.
I love you all
Attention Republicans! Donald Trump's administration is what happens when you want
government to be run "like a business".
The clown in charge tends to run the United States the way he ran his business. And isn't that paying dividends!...
Friday Night Vodka Buzz. Ask me anything.
Im having an (Im not kidding with the name) I Dream Of Jeannie Martini; vodka, rum, Cointreau, and lime juice. Its supposed to include cranberry juice, as well. But I dont have any. Its pretty cloyingly sweet. The cranberry juice cuts that a little, probably. I dont think Ill have another.
Hope everyone is looking forward to a relaxing weekend.
I love you all
Friday Night Champagne Buzz. Ask me anything.
A toast to the indictments of TFG, and a solemn hope that a Federal conviction will lock him out of any future Presidential ambitions.
And a toast to my new job. I gave notice today so I dont get robbed of my paid time off money.
I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
Up next: an American Flyer; champagne, rum, lime juice, and sugar.
I love you all
