I just want to go on record to say Paypal sucks

And if it died tomorrow, I wouldn't miss it.

Eight day fight with them over my brother sending me money, them treating my Chinese wife absolute contempt and rudeness and getting lied to and run arounds about unlimiting my account.

In all this bullcrap with identity theft fears, I am tired of being protected from myself.

Fuck Paypal!

Top Ten Conservative Idiots of the Week

The New Jackie Robinson Edition

What a week! What has happened? Well, homophobes sent death threats to a five year old girl (2), the Japanese proceed to piss off every Asian nation again (5), Pat Roberts is a carpetbagger (8) and the Obama Administration (yes, they made the list this week) cries wolf to cover its ass (10) in the most controversial entry to the list since its return. And as always, don't forget the key. Remember, you can run your mouse over the icon to see what it means. At the end, the writer will give a small tribute to one of the greatest men of the past 100 years.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]
Sports Homophobes (with deference to the NFL)
[div style="display:inline-block; padding-left:0.3077em;" title="Homophobia"] [div style="display:inline-block; padding-left:0.3077em;" title="Hypocrisy"] [div style="display:inline-block; padding-left:0.3077em;" title="Shocked, Shocked I Tells Ya"]

Remember back in 1947, if any of you were alive. This black guy named Jackie Robinson was drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers. And the world came to end. Civilization fell, people started eating their young. Fire and brimstone came down from the skies! Rivers and seas started boiling! Forty years of darkness, floods! Earthquakes, volcanoes. The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

All because some uppity negro was drafted to play baseball. And you see what has happened since? Now, they’re everywhere! Marrying your daughters! Taking well paying jobs. Going to college! Dammit. See what happens!

Of course, the Top Ten is being extremely sarcastic here, but there’s a point to this. See, last week, the world got its first taste of a sports figure “coming out,” which means announcing to the world that his life is honest and that he is no different than anyone else because of the sex he falls in love with. Michael Sam from the University of Missouri came out last week as the first openly gay potential NFL player. Remember, he has not been drafted yet, but if his on-field performance is an indictator, he will be drafted prior to the third round.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Coaches at the University of Missouri divided players into small groups at a preseason football practice last year for a team-building exercise. One by one, players were asked to talk about themselves — where they grew up, why they chose Missouri and what others might not know about them. As Michael Sam, a defensive lineman, began to speak, he balled up a piece of paper in his hands. “I’m gay,” he said. With that, Mr. Sam set himself on a path to become the first publicly gay player in the National Football League. “I looked in their eyes, and they just started shaking their heads — like, finally, he came out,” Mr. Sam said Sunday in an interview with The New York Times, the first time he spoke publicly about his sexual orientation. Mr. Sam, a 6-foot-2, 260-pound senior, went on to a stellar season for Missouri, which finished 12-2 and won the Cotton Bowl. He was named a first-team all-American. He was the defensive player of the year in the Southeastern Conference, widely considered the top league in college football. Teammates voted him Missouri’s most valuable player.

Here is a photo of the man that will end the world.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]

What came out was nothing short of spectacular. NFL players around the country tweeted support this Mr. Sam. People looked passed his orientation and welcomed him into the NFL family. It was completely breathtaking.

Well, almost everyone. Apparently, the NFL still has huge amounts of homophobia in its upper echelon.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Sam, a University of Missouri defensive end who came out on Sunday night, will drop in the draft, according to Sports Illustrated. The magazine spoke to eight NFL executives, all of whom said Sam’s announcement will drop him in May’s draft. “I don’t think football is ready for (an openly gay player) just yet,” an NFL player personnel assistant told Sports Illustrated. “In the coming decade or two, it’s going to be acceptable, but at this point in time it’s still a man’s-man game. To call somebody a (gay slur) is still so commonplace. It’d chemically imbalance an NFL locker room and meeting room.”

A man’s man game? WTF does that mean? 22 men groping each other on a field, tackling each other, then getting naked after the game for big group showers, hugs and ass patting? This is what is called a man’s man. Oh. . .and media, don’t dress it up. . .don’t write (gay slur). We all know they use the word “fag” like most Americans use the word “the.”

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Sam already wasn’t going to be a first-round pick, despite his gaudy stats in the talented SEC. Now, he’s expected to drop even further than his initial projection. “I just know with this going on this is going to drop him down,”an NFL scout told Sports Illustrated. “There’s no question about it. It’s human nature. Do you want to be the team to quote-unquote ‘break that barrier?’”

Well, apparently two teams say they will step up. . .and we aren’t surprised which teams they are. So do the fans of the Eagles and the Packers, your teams are amazing. Green Bay Head Coach Mike McCarthy, please tell us how you feel.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Packers coach Mike McCarthy was asked about the possibility of bringing Sam there, and he had nothing but praise.
“I think you definitely have to feel he’s a courageous young man but my understanding is he’s a talented young player,” McCarthy said, via Wes Hodkiewicz of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “We always from Day 1 talked about our program, about our culture. Ted [General Manager Ted Thompson] is going through draft process right now and at the end of the day, it comes down to good football players.
“Any player who can come here and be a good teammate and follow the rules of our program, which is one be respectful and produce on the football field, we have room for that guy.”

Yes, that is so fantastic. Not using crap to hold people down. Remember, this is the NFL. People like Marcus and Michael Vick, Ray Lewis and Aaron Hernandez are a-okay. But kiss a man and be prepared for vilification.

One last thing about this. Donte Stallworth ended any type of debate about Michael Sam with one sentence, responding to crap over-rated former head coach Herm Edwards said.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]In a series of tweets, the retired wide receiver responded to the suggestion -- floated by former NFL coach Herm Edwards -- that intense media attention may discourage teams from drafting gay players. "Can the players handle the media attention they are going to get when they get the question asked, 'Are you okay with a gay teammate?'" Edwards asked in an ESPN interview Sunday night.Stallworth, who last played for the New England Patriots, didn't mince words. If a team can't handle the media scrutiny of drafting a gay player, he wrote, "Your team is already a loser on the field."

Game, set and match.

Well, Michael Sam. . .be prepared to be the butt of lame ass jokes, homophobic statements and ideas and hearing people calling you a “fag” as you go on and off the field. It’s sad, but predictable.

Middle America has a problem with gay people. Not lipstick lesbians. . .oh no. “Dyking out” in a porno flick is sexy and acceptable. “I kissed a girl, and I liked it” bellows Katy Perry. That’s okay. People had no problems when Britney Spears and Madonna locked lips. I’m sure some homophobe was at home jacking off watching that while listening to Rush Limbaugh scream how horrible gayo-Americans are. It’s 2014 and the US still has this crap.

But, Michael Sam is a grown man. An adult. He has the strength of withstand the copious amounts of bullshit he’s going to get thrown at him. Mia Talerico is different. I know, you’re asking who Mia Talerico is. Here is her photo and here is her Wikipedia page.

Talerico’s real-life mother, Claire, notified Disney security after someone began posting messages on the actress’ Instagram account saying, “Die Mia, F*cking Die in hell! Kill yourself, you deserve to die.”

Wow! Just wow! Amazing! Speechless. The girl is five years old. How much say does she have in the writing of the show? Or the creative direction of the show? Better yet, even if she did, who will listen? She’s FIVE YEARS OLD!

Maybe this isn’t bordering on just plain evil. It passes it completely, takes that line, dips it in shit and sets fire to it. This isn’t bordering anything. Except hopefully the courageous asshole that did this bordering on a stiff prison sentence.

These people are given so much deference by our permissive news media because they need to be balanced. The vomit level isn’t much higher than it is now. How much lower can the anti-gay movement go when they resort to sending a five year old girl death threats?

So, time to enter that area of vice and crime, where the strong are there to exploit the weak and stupid and power is used to buy people, silence dissent and bolster the leader. No, we’re not talking North Korea. . .we’re talking the world of American big business. And this week’s profile is none other than AOL CEO Tim Armstrong.

See, Mr. Armstrong hates the ACA. Most right wing assholes do. That’s the point of the right wing. To hate things they help everyday Americans because the only Americans that matter to the right wing are unborn babies, dead soldiers, police protecting their property and the upper 1%. So, Armstrong comes out scream that because of two babies, AOL had to gut its benefits package.

The remarks came just hours after the company announced changes to its 401(k) plans and complained that Obamacare has increased costs by $7.1 million.
“We had two AOL-ers that had distressed babies that were born that we paid a million dollars each to make sure those babies were OK in general,” Armstrong said.

Distressed babies? How dare that happen! Just die already, you drains on business. You “distressed babies” are making it harder for job creators to create jobs overseas and pay slave wages.

AOL had to pay a million dollars to keep two children alive. I’m sure if it were Armstrong’s kids, the wallet would have been opened quickly.

Please proceed, ass munch!

Under the new program, AOL employees will not be able to collect any matching funds toward their retirement savings from the company for any given year if they leave before Dec. 31 of that year.

Okay. I’m sure you’ll take a pay cut as well to help normalize expenditures? Don’t wait too long there, folks. No CEO will turn off the golden parachute.

Part of this story is also strange news. Most people aren’t even convinced AOL is still around. And when they do shit like this, people wonder why they are still around.

At least Ariana Huffington got rich selling out Huff Post to AOL.

Wisconsin governor and known Koch-sucker Scott Walker is back in the news, as that noose tightens around his corrupt neck.

Apparently, there has been a “John Doe” probe against Walker for a while now, dealing with his campaign financing. Who woulda thunk a Republican would be subjected to campaign finance criminal probes. According to PRWatch.org:

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]The John Doe probe began in August of 2012 and is examining possible "illegal campaign coordination between (name redacted), a campaign committee, and certain special interest groups," according to an unsealed filing in the case. Sources told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the redacted committee is the Walker campaign, Friends of Scott Walker. Campaign filings show that Walker spent $86,000 on legal fees in the second half of 2013. A John Doe is similar to a grand jury investigation, but in front of a judge rather than a jury, and is conducted under strict secrecy orders. Wisconsin's 4th Circuit Court of Appeals unsealed some documents last week as it rejected a challenge to the probe filed by three of the unnamed "special interest groups" that had received subpoenas in the investigation and issued a ruling allowing the investigation to move forward.

Scott Walker is named in those documents.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Newly-unsealed court documents and media leaks add to a growing body of evidence that Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s campaign is at the center of a wide-ranging secret probe into campaign finance violations during the state's contentious 2011 and 2012 recall elections.

Poor Scott. He seems to be going the same way Bob McDonnell, Chris Christie, Rick Scott and now Pat McCrory have gone or are going. And just like Chris Christie, this clown has White House aspirations. Sadly, no one seems to care.

Scott Walker campaigned Thursday in southern Florida, fueling speculation about a potential 2016 presidential run. Walker campaign spokesman Jonathan Wetzel confirmed Walker attended campaign-related events in the Sunshine State but emphasized they were related to his gubernatorial election in November. “All events are solely focused on 2014, as the governor’s only priority is helping to continue moving our state forward,” Wetzel said. He declined to provide additional details.

Okay, logic would dictate that if he cared about Wisconsin, he’d be in Wisconsin and not campaigning in Florida. BTW, how many people showed up to listen to this corrupt sack of shit’s turds of wisdom?

I’m sure their names were Koch, Walton, Alderson and some other right wing sponsors. Notice these people don’t have public gatherings. They need that echo chamber. As soon as they leave it, their feet go from being on the floor to into their mouths at record speed. Which is funny to see because their head also goes up their ass at the same speed.

Elections matter, Democrats. 2014 is extremely important.

Japan has been taken over by the LDP, the Liberal Democratic Party. It’s a brand name type of name because they aren’t liberals and they aren’t Democrats. They are right wing, nationalistic revisionists bent on pissing off all their neighbors, specifically Korea and China.

Last week, Japanese writer, and close friend of Japanese PM Abe Shinzo, Naoki Hyakuta, came out and blasted anyone who says Japan committed war crimes during the Second World War. No, I am not kidding. And the United States was not amused at all.

Bangka Island, Unit 731, the Rape of Nanking, the massacre of Suzhou, Singaporean Massacre, Palawan Massacre, Manila Massacre, forced rape and prostitution of Chinese, Korean and Pinay women, littering the ground with disease causing pathogens during the Jiangxi-Zhejiang Campaign, lacing food with poison so people would die, lacing candies with opium to turn children into drug addicts. . .on a personal note, the gang raping of my wife’s great grandmother on a road outside of Changzhou in 1938.

He said those crimes included the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the mass firebombings of Tokyo.

Again, where is your evidence? This was posted on DU and a few actually came out to give this guy a little face and support. Which leaves this writer to ask one question: How can the 1937 Rape of Nanking be used to cover up the atomic bombing of two cities eight years later? The logic fails.

Holocaust deniers and Rape of Nanking deniers. Two groups of people that do not deserve the gift of life. No wonder the Koreans and Chinese hate the Japanese even to this day.

The language of the bill makes little provision separating discussion of the specifics of evolutionary biology from any other element of biology upon which evolutionary theory rests, like anthropology, examination of dinosaur fossils, genetic sciences, disease or modern medicine.

The stupid burns so much these days.

Screw guy, science “fag.” God told me to hate you! Right after spoke through my neighbor’s car and told me to take a shit on the salad bar at Wendy’s.

No wonder 37 more countries produce more scientists than we do.

Shitty actor, shittier governor and lousy husband Groping Austrian Beefcake has decided he wants to become president. He thinks he will be a good president. After all, what the presidency needs is more macho men with testosterone problems.

Small problem. That pesky Constitution, namely Article 2, Clause 5, states:

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

Never mind that shit. Arnie is going to court to challenge the constitution.

The news broke while Schwarzenegger was promoting his new film "Escape Plan," in New York City, also costarring another veteran action star, Sylvester Stallone.

So, this running for president is a pub stunt for another shitty movie with two over-the-hill shitty macho actors that don’t even do their own stunts? Is this serious?

Well, I guess that’s that. Fuck the US Constitution. Arnie wants in. American tradition and jurisprudence, as well as American Constitutional law and precedent be damned. However, it will take 38 states to approve such a change in constitutional conventions. . .but even if that doesn’t happen, the article says the following:

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]If Schwarzenegger was able to successfully challenge the law, he would in an interesting position. For the last five years that President Obama has been in office, he has faced tremendous scrutiny from the far right who, despite overwhelming evidence against their position, believe that he was born in Kenya or another foreign country. Schwarzenegger was popular during his early time as governor, but in his final months in office his approval rating had dropped to the mid-20s, nearly matching the former governor Gray Davis who Schwarzenegger replaced in 2003.

Oh snap. Liberal BIRTHERS!!! Wow! That’s amazing!!! But it does take a massive ego to try to change an entire governmental constitution to placate one person’s desire to out live his political shelf life.

In the real world, people who represent a Congressional district or a state should be residents of that state. Even if you are political carpetbagger (Hillary Clinton, I’m looking at you), you at least setup residency before you run for office.

Pat Roberts of Kansas (R-Naturally) thinks that pure bollocks. According to TPM:

According to The New York Times, Roberts, who is facing a primary challenge from tea party favorite Milton Wolf, uses the address of donors C. Duane and Phyllis Ross for voter registration and a place to sleep occasionally when he travels to the state.

Wow. Can this be declared on campaign finance forms? Is allowing someone to live in a house that’s not theirs in a state they don’t live in to begin with a violation of campaign contribution laws?

Don’t worry. Roberts has a completely lame excuse and validation to his obvious law breaking.

When answering a question, there is the right way and the dumbass way. Marco Rubio (R-Thirst) was recently asked if he ever smoked weed. A simple yes or no would be good, then moving on to something else. No one would ever say anything.

But this is Marco Rubio and it’s time to give a classic Republican non-answer answer to a simple yes-or-no question.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Sen. Marco Rubio is declining to say whether he ever smoked marijuana. The Florida Republican and potential presidential candidate dodged a direct question at an education forum Monday, saying his own drug experience is irrelevant.

So, let’s look at the question. According to State.com:

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]You’ve said that you don’t think legalizing marijuana or even decriminalizing it is the right decision for our country. … Young voters have asked me, and they’re curious to know: Have you ever smoked marijuana?

Again, simple question. Yes or no. One word then say “next question.”

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]RUBIO: You know why I never answer that question? I’ll tell you why I never answer that question. If I tell you that I haven’t, you won’t believe me. And if I tell you that I did, then kids will look up to me and say, “Well, I can smoke marijuana, ‘cause look how he made it. He did all right, so I guess I can do it, too.” And the bottom line is that it is a substance that alters your mind. Now, when I was 17 and 18 and 16, I made dumb decisions as is. I didn’t need the help of marijuana or alcohol to further that. … And I know I’m sounding like a 42-year-old dad, but … Here’s the problem: You can make mistakes at 17 that will be with you the rest of your life, OK? When you go interview for that job, and that thing pops up in your background check, that you got arrested for something dumb, they don’t look at you and say, “Ah, you were just 17.” There are people that won’t get hired because of that stuff. … And that’s the problem with that question. So the answer to your question is, at this point, it’s irrelevant.

232 words. Repeat. Two hundred. Thirty. Two. Words.

Let’s let the Top Ten play Rubio and interpret what he said into real words. Again, the question:

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]You’ve said that you don’t think legalizing marijuana or even decriminalizing it is the right decision for our country. … Young voters have asked me, and they’re curious to know: Have you ever smoked marijuana?

And the translated response from the Top Ten list:

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]RUBIO: Fuck yes, I toked up blunts when I was young. But if you motherfuckers do it, I’ll throw your asses in prison with long, draconian prison sentences because I am the biggest hypocritical asshole to infect the Senate. BTW, fuck you! Next question!

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]

And finally. . .the Top Ten list expects to be flagged for a jury over this one, but when the Obama Administration is wrong, it needs to be called out. In the past, the Top Ten called out Dianne Feinstein for her authoritarian little girl crush on the NSA and this time, the Obama Administration is just as guilty.

Let’s look at the story, brought to us by Wired.com.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]After seven years of litigation, two trips to a federal appeals court and $3.8 million worth of lawyer time, the public has finally learned why a wheelchair-bound Stanford University scholar was cuffed, detained and denied a flight from San Francisco to Hawaii: FBI human error. FBI agent Kevin Kelley was investigating Muslims in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2004 when he checked the wrong box on a terrorism form, erroneously placing Rahinah Ibrahim on the no-fly list.

Okay. . .mistakes are made. It happens. Everyone can grant that. $3.8 million dollars and seven years later, a brown person gets their freedom returned to them. Keep that in mind, please. We are talking 2007.

So what happened next?

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]What happened next was the real shame. Instead of admitting to the error, high-ranking President Barack Obama administration officials spent years covering it up.Attorney General Eric Holder, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and a litany of other government officials claimed repeatedly that disclosing the reason Ibrahim was detained, or even acknowledging that she’d been placed on a watch list, would cause serious damage to the U.S. national security. Again and again they asserted the so-called “state secrets privilege” to block the 48-year-old woman’s lawsuit, which sought only to clear her name.

So, Bush’s White House makes a mistake. Instead of righting the wrong, the Holder Justice Department carries over the mistake, stone walls, cripples this person financially. . .AND IT’S THEIR FUCKING ERROR!!! This cannot be defended. Mistakes are made. Man up, admit them, fix them, and make sure they never happen again.

No, the Obama Adminstration just contiunes for years to torment this innocent person.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Holder went so far as to tell the judge presiding over the case that this assertion of the state secrets privilege was fully in keeping with Obama’s much-ballyhooed 2009 executive branch reforms of the privilege, which stated the administration would invoke state secrets sparingly.

State secrets? This person was added by mistake.

This shows you what dragnets do. The Obama Administration is damned wrong on this and someone needs to be fired. It doesn’t matter if it started under Bush. Obama make it his own when he took up the cause instead of righting the wrong.

This is the most controversial entry to the Top Ten ever! But it has to be said. When the president and his administration is wrong, they need to be called out. Country before party!

See you next week.

Top Ten Conservative Idiots of the Week

The Coca Cola Edition

Life is back to normal. Republicans are back in the faux poutrage about something meaningless, this time a completely inoffensive Coca Cola Ad during the Super Bowl (1). So, it is Super Sunday and all the best ads come out for a game that, as always, was over quickly (like after the first play). This is the time where ads are the best, funniest or more intelligent.

Coca Cola decided to do a patriotic, multi-cultural ad using “America the Beautiful” as the backdrop being sung in English, Spanish and Arabic. Cue the conservative belly aching.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Former tea party congressman Allen West even took time to write a blog post during the game to voice his displeasure. For West, the ad started out strong enough.
"Then the words went from English to languages I didn’t recognize," a troubled West wrote, calling it "a truly disturbing commercial."
"If we cannot be proud enough as a country to sing 'American (sic) the Beautiful' in English in a commercial during the Super Bowl, by a company as American as they come — doggone we are on the road to perdition," he wrote.

This asshole is still around? Doesn’t he have more self-hating to do? Or else, more war crimes to be accused of. Well, Allen West is just Uncle Ruckas anyway Maybe he’s alone.

Not only did Coke use "a deeply Christian patriotic anthem whose theme is unity – in several foreign languages," but Leahy noted that the "ad also prominently features a gay couple."

AHHHH!!!! HOMOS!!!! ON MY TV SCREEN!!! And they are not in a parade, on a reality show or being characters in a stupid sitcom like Will and Grace. And how dare Coca Cola use other languages of inferior people to show unity. If people wanted to be united, they should all speak English with an American accent (not British, Canadian, Aussie or New York/Bostonian accents), be wealthy and white Christians. That we we can truly become the great American melting pot.

Yeah, so that is that! America doesn’t have an official language and America the Beautiful needs to be sung in English because that’s what Jesus would have wanted. Wait. . .Jesus didn’t speak English either? You’re shitting me!. Moses too?

Well, at least God speaks English. At least, that’s what God told me before he spoke through my dog about how aliens where sending anti-American soup recipes to lesbians through an invisible radar attached to my penis.

Orange Glo is back and more irrelevant than EVER! And he is working on not just being the Worst Speaker of the House ever, but the Worst Speaker of the House since the beginning of time.

Apparently not willing to play second fiddle to Cantor and Ryan, the Ohio Tearduct has decided to do something about the continuing GOP orgasm over Benghazi.

See, the way it works is four Americans died in a terrorist attack, so therefore someone’s head needs to role and because Obama is a scary black communist, fascist, muslim kenyan socialist, he must be the first. Even though there is no evidence of any wrongdoing and the fact that the GOP cut the embassy’s security budget. . .it’s all Obama’s fault. And the Ohio Tearduct will show you that opening a website. How lazy and half-assed.

The site -- GOP.gov/Benghazi -- contains the House and Senate committee reports of their investigations into the Benghazi attacks, which killed four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, as well as transcripts and notes from various congressional committee hearings on the attacks. "This site brings the facts straight to the American people by way of hundreds of pages of documents and transcripts the White House doesn't want you to read," Boehner's press office wrote in a release announcing the new Web page. "The investigation is ongoing, and the search for the truth continues, so new documents will be added as they are made available."

The White House doesn’t want people to see these documents or transcripts? Couldn’t the White House should classify them? Better yet. . .since they were released to the public, maybe there is nothing there anyway, since classifying documents is usually done to protect a person’s reputation and not for national security (though national security is the overwhelmingly standard reason).

All of this leads to one question. Is this prick the worst Speaker of the House ever? Or was there one worse? I’ll let the readers decide.

In November, someone needs to get to a drug store. Johnboy’s going to need alot of issues and vodka as he realizes he will have to pass the gavel to Nancy Pelosi. Which will be fun to watch:

Let’s look at the modern Republican Party. A loose group of racists, nihilists, dominionists, sociopathic oligarchs, uneducated rabble, jingoists, nationalists, fundamentalists and corportists all working together to build an American Ayn Rand, Milton Friedman and Charles and David Koch can enjoy.

To succeed, they need to win the hearts and minds of the voters. Not only will they get their voters, but campaign donations. However, the GOP is lagging behind a bit on the money end. Nevertheless, the GOP has decided to (Again) open websites to get people to donate to Democrats(?). Well, sort of.

The Tampa Bay Times interviews one donor who thought he was giving to Alex Sink's (D) congressional campaign. It even used the same blue and green color scheme as the candidate's official website. But he didn't see the small print, which said, "Make a contribution today to help defeat Alex Sink and candidates like her."

Looks legit, if you look at it without blinking. Take a second and you will see “Make a contribution today to help defeat Alex Sink and candidates like her.” It’s a GOP site made to look like a legit campaign site.

See, this is how it works. Bankrupt ideas, bankrupt ideology, bankrupt party (except for their corporate sponsors), so they resort to cheating and deception.

As always, the GOP did what it does best in response: lied!

But the data tells a different story. Democrats are actually raising significantly more money than Republicans.

A Wall Street Journal review of the latest campaign filings finds that the top Democratic candidates in the 52 most competitive House races reported raising $42.3 million last year, easily beating the $34.8 million for the top Republican candidates in those races.

Democrats are upset because their candidates are struggling. Wow! That Fixed Noise Channel echo chamber has completely destroyed the GOP’s ability to see beyond the dashboard.

November is beginning to look really good.

The GOP is going the way of the old Whig Party (which is the grandfather of the modern GOP). It was only a matter of time. Look at their heroes: Reagan. . .ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Lincoln, but that was over 150 years ago.

So, the Whigs died due to ideological purity tests and requiring members to adhere to their political dogma of the party no matter how detrimental it was. The only thing that mattered was the party.

The GOP has become that today. Any Republican Congressional Member that bucks the system will face a tea-bagging primary challenge. Even leadership. Especially leadership. Let’s let Mr. Irrelevant himself, Brent Bozell explain.

"In return they have repeatedly promised not just to stop the liberal assault on our freedoms and our national treasury, but to advance our conservative agenda. It's been years. There is not a single conservative accomplishment this so-called 'leadership' can point to."

The group told CNN that they will run digital ads targeting House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), as well as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Minority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas).

Nothing causes the GOP more angina and acid reflux than the ACA. That godless, communistic, liberal idea spouted by then GOP governor of Massachusets Mitt Romney has been the destruction of this great country. More than allowing two gayo-Americans to get married. Giving everyone access to medical care!?!?! HOW WRONG!!!

But, according to the CBO, there is more to this. And Republicans hate it completely.

But in a hearing Wednesday, CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf explained how that is not so: His office's report, he noted, actually says that Obamacare produces a net increase in employment, and cuts the deficit.

Let’s look at some of the tweets from the twits on twitter.

Who pays for these “free people?” Their jobs, of course. But because they don’t need to have two or three of them and work 60 - 80 hours a week, they can go back to 30 - 40 and not worry about getting killed on the health costs.

Nowhere in the CBO report does it say to QUIT your job, Becca. These people are just braindead. Elmendorf went on to explain all of this in very simple words to very simple people.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]As for the idea that millions of new shirkers would join Mitt Romney's infamous 47 percent, well, the people who might work less thanks to Obamacare would actually be doing things most Americans praise. Many would be moms and dads working fewer hours to spend time with their kids. There would be older, sicker Americans who only work now because it's the only way they can get health care. People with multiple jobs could cut that number to one. And many people would be able to take advantage of the new health-care safety net to start their own businesses -- 1.5 million according to one estimate from the Urban Institute.

What? Americans don’t need to be wage slaves to medical bills and can spend more time with their families. HOW FUCKING UNAMERICAN!!! It’s every American family’s right to make their kids latchkey kids where their dominant adult influence is the T.V.

As for multiple job holding Americans, former pResident Chimpy McPlasticturkey said that’s uniquely American and good. And then asked the poor woman if she got any sleep. Hahahahahaha!!!!

Please explain, Elmendorf.

"If someone comes up to you and says, 'Well, the boss said I’m being laid off because we don’t have enough business to pay me,' that person feels bad about that and we sympathize with them for having lost their job," he continued. "If someone comes to you and says, 'I’ve decided to retire,' or 'I’ve decided to stay home and spend more time with my family,' or 'I’ve decided to spend more time doing my hobby' –- they don’t feel bad about it, they feel good about it. And we don’t sympathize, we say congratulations. And we don’t say they’ve lost their job, we say they’ve chosen to leave their job."

Elmendorf also explained that while having health care options would encourage some people to seek coverage outside their employer, it hardly means that most people would stop working altogether, since most people need a job for more than just health insurance.

"It's not that they have no incentive to work, it's that they have smaller incentive to work," he said.

Okay, issue with the last statement. Smaller incentive? Please explain. We have jobs to pay for our lives, not doctors and hospitals. A job should not be a pre-requisite for medical care.

Can you see why the ACA causes the GOP angina? Don’t worry, GOP. Poutrage and Angina are covered under Obamacare. Just go to the national exchange website and enroll.

February is Black History month. This is a time when we should be teaching the words of WEB DuBois, Booker T. Washington, Medgar Evers, Malcolm X, Freddrick Douglas, the Tulsa Race Riots of 1923 and the travesty of George Stinney. It’s a time when we as a nation need to reflect on our long, and sorry, history of racism. Maybe not just black history month, but all history month. Native Americans, Women, Homosexuals. But February is set aside to remember those who came to this land in chains.

Schools normally put on events or have workshops for students to highlight black history month. In Northern California, the Carondelet High School for Girls decided to do this for their students. What better way to honor black history month than to serve your students Fried Chicken, Watermelon and Collared Greens. What, no Kool Aid?

But good intentions weren't enough to keep community members angry at the arguably racist menu at bay.

The woman called Obama “moron” and a “criminal” who is acting wholly without authority and “nobody’s doing anything” to reign him in. There was some awkward laughter as she brought up the execution of the president, and Bridenstine brushed past it to keep going after Obama on his lawlessness in bypassing Congress.

Look, news media. The meeting didn’t get thrown off course. This is normal. This happens all the time. It is as common as sunrise with teabaggers. You pricks in the media just refuse to call a spade a spade and make it sound like women like this at Republican townhalls are not the norm. They are.

But here’s the bigger problem. Instead of booing this woman, heckling her or telling her to shut up, the crowd just laughed at the idea of executing a sitting president. And the Congressman didn’t stop the woman, remove her mic to scold her for this. . .he just continued the teabagger line.

Then another woman popped up and spouted this turd of wisdom.

But, you see, teabaggers. . .you’re being played. Your heroes of King, Bachmann, Gohmert, Kingston, Broun, Ryan, Farenthood, etc. . .they know they would get destroyed with impeachment hearings. Now, from a physical geography teacher. . .what is causing all this wear weather is three things:

1: Mass influx of cold, fresh water into the warm upper level ocean currents all found on the eastern side of a continent which super cools the cold, dense, deep ocean current, cutting off precipitation in the west (look at CA this year). As that water reaches the equator, the mass influx of water heats and creates more vapor which is carried by the prevailing winds and the trade winds, bringing more fierce storms.

2: With the CO2 levels rising, the albedo rate for heating and sunlight isn’t normal anymore. The heat and light gets trapped and most doesn’t reflect anymore.

3: Deforestation and exhausting non-renewable land resources causing massive desertification. Farmlands can’t be recharged because they are being intensified and Rain forests are being stripped.

Nah. . .fuck that science noise. Nothing beats a good conspiracy theory!

“Mr. Stewart echoing what President [Barack] Obama said,” O’Reilly said. “That some of the issues I brought up have been ‘thoroughly investigated.’ Of course, that’s a farce.”

Of course isn’t farce! Jon Stewart is a fucking comedian! You are, or are supposed to be be a legitimate newshound. Jon Stewart is on Comedy Central. You’re on a channel that uses the word “News” in the title. Of course you’re going to be lampooned! Especially when you sound like a fucking doofus.

Jon Stewart owes you nothing! Deal with it. . .or did the big bad Daily Show step on your little footsies and hurt you. Don’t worry. . .all you need is your photo of Andrea Mackris and your falafel!

So, if I ask about those issues, I’m a doofus, a scandal-monger.”

If the shoe fits, dipshit! But he said it himself. He’s a doofus. Accepting the problem is the first step to recovery, Bill. We’re all proud of you. Now everyday, get up, look in the mirror and say “I’m Bill. . .and I’m a doofus.” Then maybe we’ll stop seeing pictures like the one below

Yes, we can’t explain that. But can you explain why people think you’re a doofus? Please continue with your attack on a comedian!

O’Reilly did not mention that several states have already exercised the option of choosing to reject the state healthcare exchanges enacted under “Obamacare.”

Who’s allegations? What evidence? Quoting some blog like Newsmax or World Nut Daily. . .or Townhall isn’t news, Bill. Maybe again, if he weren’t so up his own ass.

A rare look inside the Koch brothers political empire

By Matea Gold
February 5 at 2:19 pm

The labyrinthian design of the political network backed by the Koch brothers and their fellow conservative donors serves several purposes, but one of the biggest is to ensure the privacy of its financial backers. As we detailed last month, the money flows through a complex maze of tax-exempt groups and limited liability corporations, creating multiple barriers that shield the identities of the donors. Such anonymous contributions should be allowed, Charles Koch has argued, to protect people from the attacks that he and his brother David and their company have fielded. Critics say the Kochs and their allies seek to influence elections without accountability.

Top Ten Conservative Idiots of the Week

The Remembering Greatness (and all it fought against in its lifetime) Edition

My heroes keep dying. First Nelson Mandela, now Pete Seeger. Here is a man that walked the talk he talked. This is a man who changed lives, worked for the betterment of all people and did his best to change things so ingrained in American psyche that a lesser man would have given up. All because he had a love and vision for this country that was more than the troglodytes that vilified him (and will even more than he has died) could ever hope to destroy. Pete Seeger was what all Americans should be. And this week, we look at 10 Republicans/Conservatives/Idiots that are specifically the thing that Pete Seeger fought again. There is no order to this week’s list. #1 is just as much the anti-thesis of the nation people like Seeger, Guthrie, Ochs, Chapin, Robeson and Ives struggled to change. And as always, don't forget the key. Remember, you can run your mouse over the icon to see what it means. At the end, the writer will give a small tribute to one of the greatest men of the past 100 years and probably his biggest hero.

First on the list of people that Pete Seeger would have despised and fought against is L. Brooks Patterson, Oakland County, Michigan executive and apparent klansman.

See, the GOP has done its best to destroy Detroit during the Great Recession and therefore take little comfort in helping the city and little effort to salvage the city. It’s better to just let the city die than to make it what it used to be. . .the shining example of labor and the labor movement.

Being pro-union, Seeger would have been against the right-to-work laws the GOP in Michigan loves, the union busting the GOP and corporate business criminals do and the racist attitudes used to support both.

But, Patterson decided to leave decency to the wolves and went on a unhinged session of insanity. Or, as the GOP goes. . .just another normal da at the office.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]A Republican county official in Michigan is in hot water after making racial comments about Detroit, including the idea that the city should be turned into a detention center for “all the Indians.”

In a recent interview for a profile by The New Yorker titled “Drop Dead, Detroit!” Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson admitted, “Anytime I talk about Detroit, it will not be positive. Therefore, I’m called a Detroit basher. The truth hurts, you know? Tough sh*t.”

Patterson recalled telling his children to “get in and get out” if they needed to go to Detroit.

“And, before you go to Detroit, you get your gas out here. You do not, do not, under any circumstances, stop in Detroit at a gas station! That’s just a call for a carjacking,” he said.

Patterson also proposed a fix to Detroit’s financial problems: Turn the city into a reservation for Native Americans.

Oh Jeez. . .what great ideas! Let’s attack black people by saying they are carjackers (and continue the institutionalized racism we have in this country, followed by the reservation comment. Maybe Paterson can expand on his idea a little.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]GRAND WIZARD PATERSON: I made a prediction a long time ago, and it’s come to pass. I said, ‘What we’re gonna do is turn Detroit into an Indian reservation, where we herd all the Indians into the city, build a fence around it, and then throw in the blankets and the corn.’

Why not barbed wire fence electrified so people get incinerated when coming within two feet of it? Gun turrets to prevent them from leaving. And tattooing their BIA numbers on their arms also?

When it dawned on this brainboy that his statements were being recorded on the record, Paterson did what all Republicans do when caught wearing their sheets instead of sleeping in them: Attacked the messenger.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]After Detroit officials and activists reacted with outrage, Patterson’s office released a statement accusing The New Yorker of having an “agenda.”

“It is clear Paige Williams had an agenda when she interviewed County Executive Patterson,” the statement said. “She cast him in a false light in order to fit her preconceived and outdated notions about the region.”

That’s how it works, folks. It isn’t the racism. It’s the “agenda” of the magazine, periodical or news agency that forces these people to expose their racism. It isn’t wrong to be an ignorant, racist toad. It’s liberal bias to report it and then get your ass handed to you.

Next up for Patterson: Going to Nanjing and telling the Chinese there that the Rape of Nanking was as much a fraud as the Holocaust, giving a rousing speech saying the Imperial Japanese Army were amazing people and then ending by saying “Anytime I talk about China, it will not be positive. Therefore, I’m called a (nasty racist word for Chinese people) basher. The truth hurts, you know? Tough shit.”

How does this party get any votes at all?

Next up on the list of things Pete Seeger would have fought against: Bashing, belittling the handicapped and homosexuals using God as the excuse.

Not to far away from L. Brooks Patterson is uber-loon Susanne Atanus, who is running in a primary to see who will lose to Rep. Jan Schakowsky in November. Yes, because God hates fags. . .right? I mean, that’s what Fred Phelps says, so it has to be true. Except that point about loving your neighborhood and brotherhood and peace and all that shit Jesus said that sounds good but not Christian conservative ever practices.

So, let’s look into the mind of idiocy and understand this is the modern Republican Party.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]ATANUS: "God is angry." "We are provoking him with abortions and same-sex marriage and civil unions,” she said. “Same-sex activity is going to increase AIDS. If it’s in our military it will weaken our military. We need to respect God.”

God is angry. Atanus knows. God is #4 on her speed-dial. Maybe God can call me and tell me the Powerball numbers instead of continually telling psychos like this shit that his book seems to have problems with. After all, “smiting those gayo-Americans” and those that support their desire not to be second class citizens is from the Book of. . .well, someone who knows the Bible can quote it better.

So, the next time there is a tornado someplace, or your kid has autism or Asperger’s. . .beat the shit out of a homosexual. They caused it. Pete Seeger was a huge supporter and fighter for women’s rights. He and his wife Toshi fought for women’s rights for decades. So it comes as no surprise that the Republicans would be the ones to declare war on women and war on those who support women. Steve Pearce (R-NM) is a good example.

Schmucko released a book ghost written in which he demands that wives submit to their husbands. Let that sink in for a little while. Remember, this is 2014, not 1914. And a sitting member of Congress basically just stated that a woman’s place is in the home, being a slave to her husband.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]A Republican member of Congress says in a recently released book that a wife is to "voluntarily submit" to her husband, but that it doesn't make her inferior to him.

Rep. Steve Pearce's (R-N.M.) memoir, "Just Fly the Plane, Stupid!" was released last month. Its publication -- and his acknowledgment in the book of the controversial nature of the submission debate -- come as the Republican Party reevaluates how it talks to and about women.

"The wife is to voluntarily submit, just as the husband is to lovingly lead and sacrifice," he writes, citing the Bible. "The husband’s part is to show up during the times of deep stress, take the leadership role and be accountable for the outcome, blaming no one else."

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]In the book, Pearce recounts his rise to owning an oil-field service company and winning election to Congress. In the book, the Vietnam War veteran says that both the military chain of command and the family unit need a structure in which everyone plays his or her role.

I see. Man = breadwinner, control, money, dictator. Woman = wet hole for sex, cook, slave, babysitter, subservient.

Where did this clown get this shit from? From CHURCH!!!
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Pearce, who is Baptist, emphasizes repeatedly in the chapter that submission doesn't mean inferiority but rather that husbands and wives play different roles. He also says it doesn't mean his wife doesn't have a say in major decisions.

"The wife’s submission is not a matter of superior versus inferior; rather, it is self-imposed as a matter of obedience to the Lord and of love for her husband," he writes.

Oh, Jesus again. He told us a woman’s place is being a slave to her husband. Damn, Jesus must have been one sexist asshole.

Realizing he was caught, Pearce did exactly what all Republicans do: Attempted to kill the messenger.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]A Pearce spokesman is out with a statement accusing the Post of "falsely and inaccurately" mischaracterizing Pearce's book.

"This was a piece of either sloppy journalism or wilful intent to deceive," the spokesman said. "The words clearly written show that Pearce believes the phrase 'submission' is widely misunderstood in society and criticizes those who distort the bible to justify male dominance."

The statement does not make clear what Pearce's office believes is inaccurate.

Okay, what does submission mean then, Stevie? Please enlighten us. Tell your mouthpiece to cram it, get in front of the mic and tell your wife, Cynthia, and all the wives in your district exactly what you meant by this bullshit. Just remember, you beat them because you love them. And if you want a wife, Steve Pearce says take lessons from cavemen from old cartoons.

The conference would last about fifteen seconds and should go like this: “I made statement in my book that are wrong, sexist and just plain stupid. As a result, I do not have the moral authority to hold this office given to me by the voters. So, I will resign effective immediately, return to the rock I crawl out from under and spend the rest of my life trying to get the foot of my mouth and my head out of my ass.”

Don’t hold your breath.

Continuing on with the women bashing comes Mike Huckabee, former Arkansas governor and completely insane.

Huckabee ran for president once or twice, got six votes and now has a crapload of street cred in Republican circles, like Frank Gaffney and G. Gordon Liddy has. So when you know Mike Huckabee speaks for the tea party and the rest of them when he says that it’s the Democrat’s fault that women think the GOP suck and their anti-woman policies are wrong. In fact, he is going to save women by telling them that they need to follow Republicans in order to learn stop being slave to their primal urges.

Mike Huckabee (R) is so fed up with the anti-Republican "War on Women" narrative that he went on a rant Thursday, accusing Democrats of trying to convince women they need the government to help them "control their libidos."

"Our party stands for the recognition of the equality of women and the capacity of women," Huckabee told his audience at the Republican National Committee's winter meeting in downtown Washington. "That's not a war on them. It's a war for them. And if the Democrats want to insult the women of America by making them believe that they are helpless without Uncle Sugar coming in and providing for them a prescription each month for birth control, because they cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of the government, then so be it."

Umm. . .wow! Just wow! {speechless}

You were doing well, Mike. . .until you got to the “cannot control their libido” comment. I’m sure there are hordes of women walking down the street like sexual predators looking for a good piece of man meat to kidnap forcibly, tie up and ravish. . .and we all know that the men will fight and scream rape as it happens. Oh, what will we do for these poor men. . .all at the mercy of Evil Goddess Estrogen!?!?! I’m sure you know who those women are, Mike. Mitt Romney has files of women available.

With supporting women’s rights comes supporting a woman’s right to do with her body as she sees fit. Recently, my wife and I had this discussion about children and while I am ready to be a father, she is not ready yet to be a mother. As stated, it is her body and I support her decision.

But apparently, a lot of people think a woman’s primary role is to be a brood mare for the State (to quote George Carlin). Lila Rose, the president of Live Action, went on Certainly Not News (that’s CNN for those who aren’t hip to the fact that CNN is most certainly not news) and proceeded to not only continue the GOP’s war on women, but introduced WMDs to the war. The topic: Abortion rights for a rape victim.

Guess where Lila Rose stands. Hint: Your first assumption is usually the correct one.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]“When a woman is raped, that’s a horrible injustice against her,” Live Action president Lila Rose told co-host Sally Kohn. “The rapist should be held to the fullest extent of the law, liable for that, culpable for that. The woman needs healing and the support of her community. But an abortion doesn’t unrape a woman. An abortion just adds more violence on top of that first she endured.”

An abortion doesn’t unrape a woman? Yeah. . .okay. So, murdering a convict felon in prison doesn’t undo the crime either. And glue doesn’t unbreak a lamp. What’s your point? Because you can’t unrape a woman, the victim must be forced to carry a child they will hate and despise and will remind them of their rapist everyday of the child’s life. Way to doom both the rape victim and the child.

The host, Sally Kohn, tried to keep the batshit crazy to a minimum and help Rose out of the skid. But Rose was having none of it. She continued turning away from the skid when the topic came to late term abortion.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]“You mentioned, Sally, late-term abortion — I want to address that real quick,” Rose told Kohn. “Late-term abortion is horrific. But all abortion is horrific. Even in the first trimester. Keep in mind: hearts beating at three-and-a-half weeks.”

Contrary to Rose’s argument, the Mayo Clinic asserted that a fetus’ heart forms around the fifth week of a pregnancy.

Oh, don’t mention science. That’s all we need. Enlightened, scientific knowledge to supercede valid political dogma and rhetoric. Besides, science, like reality, has a liberal bias. It’s all a bunch of tree hugging hippie crap.

Kohn again continued to try to right the ship, but being the boob she is, Rose needed to get in one last line before the opposing view came on.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]“We’re not gonna get into that right now,” Kohn said. “You are saying, in effect, that the rapist should have more rights than the woman.”

“Absolutely not,” Rose insisted. “The rapist isn’t allowed to kill anybody.”

Well, then that solves it. Rapists can rape, so long as they don’t kill? WTF kind of logic is that? Luckily. NARAL president Ilyse Hogue knew where to put Rose.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]“Isn’t it great that we live in a country where Lila Rose could decide where she would choose to carry her rapist’s pregnancy to term,” NARAL Pro-Choice America president Ilyse Hogue said, interjecting. “But her version of morality doesn’t actually dictate what I can choose to do in that moment. And that’s what religious liberty is about — it’s about you getting to choose what would be right for you in that circumstance I don’t get to tell you what to do, and you don’t get to tell me what to do.”

Smack and down! BTW, Seeger supported a woman’s right to choose.

Let’s move away from rape and talk about marriage and love. A question has always been asked, and for good reason sometimes, how much right does a father have in the pregnancy of the child? Most will say his rights stop at fertilization because it’s the woman’s body. Others will say the opposite and that both people should have a say. It isn’t an easy question to answer, but it’s one where there seems to be little ground to give on either side.

Rep. Vicky Hartzler from Missouri weighed in on this issue with the obtuseness that the modern GOP is known for. In attacking a woman’s right to choice what is right for her body without the government shoving a floor lamp up her vagina and disguising it at a medical procedure, Hartzler went all “men’s rights” on the world and said abortion robs men of their rights to be fathers.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Speaking at the 41st annual March for Life in Washington, D.C., Hartzler opined that “abortion hurts everyone.”

“It ends a beating heart, it leaves emotional wounds with women that they carry for life and it robs men of the privilege of fatherhood,” she said. “That’s why we must do everything in our power to end this devastating practice.”

Look, Vicky. . .it must suck waking up everyday, looking in the mirror and coming to grips with the fact that you’re a self-hating woman, but just because a man has the ability to sire a baby doesn’t make him a father.

Usually political hacks hide behind the flag, the badge, the bible and children. This is a first where one hides behind men. Please continue, Vicky. Tell us what your crystal ball says about abortion.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Hartzler asserted that if abortion hadn’t been legalized, “perhaps we would have had a cure for cancer now.”

And, think too. . .if Bush didn’t invade Iraq, all those dead GIs would have children now too. And some of them might have children that could cure cancer. Could have, would have, should have. One of the last vestiges for those with intellectually bankrupt ideas; the “if only, what if” question.

I have one. If Vicky Hartzler grew a brain and used it, would she still be a pumpkin, or would she evolve to stump?

New findings released Thursday by Pew showed that most Republicans think rich people are largely responsible for their socioeconomic status. They also feel the same way about poor people.
Fifty-seven percent of GOP voters said that a person is rich because "he or she worked harder than others," while just 32 percent attribute it to advantages they enjoyed. The results are almost completely flipped among Democrats.
Overall, 51 percent of Americans said that people are wealthy due to advantages in life, while 38 percent said it had more to do with hard work.

Pete Seeger was relevant in music from the beginning. He was a fixture on radios in the 1940s and continued paving the way for folk singers even a month before passing in his sleep on January 27th. Pete Seeger inspired thousands to do the right thing.

Ted Nugent has been irrelevant in music since his big “hit” Cat Scratch Fever and has been coasting on that ever since. He hasn’t produced or made one album worth a tinker’s damn in over 30 years and still his 15 minutes haven’t expired yet. Ted Nugent inspires thousands to vomit.

So, it is with no surprise that the Michigan Asshat joins the list for the following diatribe:

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]National Rifle Association board member and Outdoor Channel spokesman Ted Nugent called President Obama a "subhuman mongrel" and argued that he and other liberal politicians should be punished for treason.

Merriam-Webster dictionary defines mongrel as "a dog with parents of different breeds."

Subhuman mongrel. You know, Pete Seeger said something like that once. He said Miss Jay’s son Alby had beans in his ears. “You know Alby Jay, you have beans in your ears.” He also said to FDR that he would put his reservations on hold to fight Hitler. Seeger even enlisted in the army, even though he was a pacifist and a contentious objector to war.

Teddy shat himself and did drugs to get a 4F status for Viet Nam, and now parades around like he’s a fucking viking warrior. Yet it’s liberals that are subhuman mongrels. You shat yourself for weeks to get your 4F status, asshole.

Nugent was representing the Outdoor Channel, which airs his hunting show Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild.

Nugent and Outdoor Channel recently announced a multi-year endorsement deal where Nugent will make "talent appearances on the network's behalf at top consumer and industry trade events." In announcing the deal, Outdoor Channel's CEO said that Nugent "symbolizes everything that is right in our industry."

Remind me to boycott Outdoor Channel if Nugent is everything right in the industry. As for “talent appearances;” please explain what talent Teddy has. If being irrelevant is a talent, I hear Rob Schneider is available too. So is Patricia Heaton.

Nugent stated he would leave the country or be in prison by now if Obama was re-elected. Think it’s time to hold him to the promise.

BTW, he called Obama a mongrel. A mixed breed. I guess saying “half-breed n-bomb” would be too real, since that’s what he thinks anyway.

Pete Seeger put the class in class act. Ted Nugent puts the ASS in class.

The report is still embargoed, but someone slipped me a copy, and it's too important to wait.

Leave aside the harm cheap labor being dumped on the country does to the millions of unemployed Americans. What does it mean for the Republican Party?

Citing surveys from the Pew Research Center, the Pew Hispanic Center, Gallup, NBC News, Harris polling, the Annenberg Policy Center, Latino Decisions, the Center for Immigration Studies and the Hudson Institute, Schlafly's report overwhelmingly demonstrates that merely continuing our current immigration policies spells doom for the Republican Party.

Immigrants -- all immigrants -- have always been the bulwark of the Democratic Party. For one thing, recent arrivals tend to be poor and in need of government assistance. Also, they're coming from societies that are far more left-wing than our own. History shows that, rather than fleeing those policies, they bring their cultures with them. (Look at what New Yorkers did to Vermont.)

01: Cheap labor? These are people, you witch! Not nameless, faceless “foreigners.” PEOPLE! Get it?

02: Millions of unemployed Americans? The party to lick the ass of has been fucking unemployed Americans for years. Your party blocked EVERY jobs bill. Unless the jobs bill involves hookers and blow, Republicans obstruct it.

03: Yes. . .more left wing than us. Care to show how that’s true? Most immigrants today are from South America, East Asia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Uzbekistan is more left wing? Turkmenistan? Burma? China???

04: Look what New Yorkers did to Vermont. This coming from a Cornell graduate. Oh, as for Vermont. . .they are one of the highest paid states in the country. And have one of the best senators as well. As well as Howard Dean. I’ll take Dean and Sanders over Huckabee and Cruz any day of the week, 5’9” Sack of Snot.

According to a Harris poll, 81 percent of native-born citizens think the schools should teach students to be proud of being American. Only 50 percent of naturalized U.S. citizens do.

While 67 percent of native-born Americans believe our Constitution is a higher legal authority than international law, only 37 percent of naturalized citizens agree.

No wonder they vote 2-1 for the Democrats.

The two largest immigrant groups, Hispanics and Asians, have little in common economically, culturally or historically. But they both overwhelmingly support big government, Obamacare, affirmative action and gun control.
Shouldn’t schools not have more unfunded mandates? Why is it now the school’s job to teach patriotism? And where do you get these numbers, Annie? Produce your evidence.

Meanwhile, 51 percent of Asians have a favorable opinion of Obamacare, 18 percent an unfavorable one. Even Koreans support Obamacare by 57 percent to 17 percent.

Overall, 69 percent of immigrants like Obamacare, according to a 2010 Cooperative Congressional Election Study.

That same survey showed that only 35 percent of native-born Americans support affirmative action, compared to 58 percent of immigrants, including -- amazingly -- 64 percent of Asians (suggesting they may not be as smart as everyone thinks).

Most East Asian nations have national, socialized health insurance. In Thailand, doctors are expensive. Most just go to a pharmacy and take the medical advice from the pharmacist. Most Thais would love to go see a doctor.

She picks on Koreans. . .KOREA HAS NATIONAL, SINGLE PAYER!!! I lived there. It was amazingly cheap and wonderful. No wonder Koreans support it. You fucking skazwag, you have no God damn idea what the fuck you’re talking about.

Will they be enough to re-elect Kevin McCarthy to Congress so he can keep his gold-plated government health insurance?

Will they be the ones writing Darrell Issa's flattering New York Times obituary?

My tribute to Pete Seeger can be found here and here as well as the first song I learned on the guitar.

Mister Thompson calls the waiter, orders steak and baked potato
Then he leaves the bone and gristle and he never eats the skins;
The busboy comes and takes it, with a cough contaminates it
And puts it in a can with coffee grinds and sardine tins;
The truck comes by on Friday and carts it all away;
And a thousand trucks just like it are converging on the Bay, oh,

Garbage (garbage, garbage, garbage) Garbage!
We're filling up the sea with garbage (garbage...)
What will we do when there's no place left
To put all the garbage? (garbage...)

Mr. Thompson starts his Cadillac and winds it down the freeway track
Leaving friends and neighbors in a hydro-carbon haze;
He's joined by lots of smaller cars all sending gases to the stars.
There they form a seething cloud that hangs for thirty days.
And the sun licks down into it with an ultraviolet tongue.
Till it turns to smog and settles down and ends up in our lungs, oh,

Garbage (garbage...) Garbage!
We're filling up the sky with garbage (garbage...)
What will we do
When there's nothing left to breathe but garbage (garbage...)

Getting home and taking off his shoes he settles down with the evening news,
While the kids do homework with the TV in one ear
While Superman for the thousandth time sells talking dolls and conquers crime
Dutifully they learn the date of birth of Paul Revere.
In the paper there's a piece about the mayor's middle name,
And he gets it done in time to watch the all-star bingo game, oh,

Garbage (garbage...)
We're filling up our minds with garbage
Garbage (garbage...)
What will we do when there's nothing left to read
And there's nothing left to need
And there's nothing left to watch
And there's nothing left to touch
And there's nothing left to walk upon
And there's nothing left to talk upon
Nothing left to see
And there's nothing left to be but
Garbage (garbage...)

In Mister Thompson's factory, they're making plastic Christmas trees
Complete with silver tinsel and a geodesic stand
The plastic's mixed in giant vats from some conglomeration
That's been piped from deep within the earth or strip-mined from the land.
And if you question anything, they say, "Why, don't you see?
It's absolutely needed for the economy," oh,

Oh, Garbage! Garbage! Garbage! Garbage!
There stocks and their bonds -- all garbage!
Garbage! Garbage! Garbage! Garbage!
What will they do when their system goes to smash
There's no value to their cash
There's no money to be made
But there's a world to be repaid
Their kids will read in history books
About financiers and other crooks
And feudalism, and slavery
And nukes and all their knavery
To history's dustbin they're consigned
Along with many other kinds of garbage.
Garbage! Garbage! Garbage! Garbage!

Pete Seeger and a Top Ten Conservative Idiots Update

1st: I am done with my PhD work for now. I will write the newest Top Ten tomorrow or the next day.

2nd (and more important):

Everyone talks about Pete Seeger meaning something to them. In my early childhood, there were only three people, outside of my parents, that had a huge influence on my life. Those three were Raffi (don't laugh), Harry Chapin and Pete Seeger.

Pete was the first adult singer I ever listened to. His song about the SF Bay (Garbage) and DDT (The Cats are Scratching the Streets) profoundly impacted me at an extremely young age.

Each song turned on, in me at the young age of six, a social bearing years ahead of my age. Instead of reading the pablum that schools forced me to read, I began reading things that were considered subversive and even un-American. Pete Seeger led me to Rachel Carson. Pete Seeger led me to Ralph Nader. Pete Seeger led me to Cesar Chavez. Pete Seeger let me to Nelson Mandela.

I only lived about an hour away from Beacon as the crow flies, but once I watched him sing in Newburgh (on my side of the bridge). I couldn't have been more impacted. His hope, his love of people, his strength. . .his worldview. It brings small tears to my eyes remembering sitting in the audience and just listening to him talk, sing and interact with his fans as though he knew each of us personally. As he spoke about the Hudson River, his love of Mother Earth couldn't be more evident. His detest for things like Love Canal and the destruction of the brackish Hudson ecosystem made me look at the Upper Delaware River valley north of Port Jervis in the same light.

Because of Pete Seeger, I became an environmentalist. Because of Pete Seeger, I became a civil rights advocate. Because of Pete Seeger, I became the politcally active person I am too. While I only stand in a classroom and teach, I know I am doing with my students what Pete Seeger did to me.

As I teach my physical and human geography class and the lessons that would get me strung up in an American classroom (climate change, environmental sustainability, urbanization and land use, agriculture, social economics, environmental degradation and the human effects on the natural environment, including sensitive areas, the oceanic current belt, prevailing winds and pollution), I am reminded with each lesson the first two songs I committed to memory.

As I teach my history class, I use Pete Seeger's music to talk about the depression, the fight against fascism, the cold war and the Spanish Civil War.

Pete Seeger is the second hero of mine to pass on in as many months. I never met the man personally, but the impact his words, music, life, activism and struggle molded me into the person I am today.

Pete, this week's Top Ten is a tribute to you. It is written with you mind. You didn't know me. I didn't know you. But your impact on people like me cannot be understated.

Thank you Pete. Thank you for everything. And Godspeed.

Hitler was a Socialist. Orwell was a Communist and I don't know shit about history (pt2). His emails

Earlier, I posted This about a freeper smackdown in my international school between me (the history and geography teacher) and this Canadian Freeper from Alberta (Canada's Fresno), one of the English teachers. Please understand that most of the teachers in this school are either center-left or left wing, so this douche is alone.

Now, I want you to see into the mind of madness. Here are his emails. I ended this by saying if he can convince the PhD that runs the humanities department (and I am now the assistant head of the department) that the crap the English teacher says it true, I will incorporate it into my classes. Have fun ripping this apart. Here are all of this clown's emails.

After I said that I agreed Germany had socialized, universal coverage under the Nazis, I explained. It was started in 1871 by that great Nazi thinker Otto Von Bismarck, a full 18 years before Hitler was born in Austria and a full 49 years before the NSDAP was established.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]History was one of my best subjects in school. I also took a whole course on ideologies and wrote papers on Nazi ideology. That said, I do not touch on history in my classes. I have touched upon Greco-Roman Mythology though. However, I do teach critical thinking. That includes detecting bias and where hiding or ignoring evidence which proves otherwise. I found that the more I learned about the subject, the more I found bias there.

The quotes from Hitler cannot be any more clear. However, he did not represent the views of all in the party. That is why I am trying to say. I have no issue with the photos you provided. The sources I quoted to you say the very same thing. The Nazi party banned all that was not in full alignment with themselves. They merely replaced the trade unions with a Nazi union. This was more superficial than anything. They were still unions and unions are socialist in nature. It more of a shift of allegiance. It is like changing names in a bank or changing from Pepsi to Coke.

Homosexuals did well in Nazi Germany until they posed a threat to Hitler's power. His best friend and right hand man, Ernst Rohm was openly homosexual. There are books full of homoerotic art used a Nazi propaganda. Hitler supported it for years and tolerated it until he thought Rohm was conspiring against him. It is unfortunate that they only focus on the short period after when Hitler turned on them. Gays see themselves as victims of the Nazi party when half the party (SA) was openly gay. The same goes with socialism. Socialists want to distance themselves from the Nazi party because of the negative image Hitler carries. The revisionism of history is clear here. I am not trying to revise it. I am only bringing up what has been omitted/ignored because it does not fit the ideology of the those with a bias view of history who twist it to their favor.

Yes, healthcare was in place before the Nazi party even existed. The anti-antisemitism was in Germany long before Hitler was born, too. But of course he was not responsible for them. Nor did he stop either of them. Why? They both fit into his ideology.

I used Canada as an example of all the things you said happened to those who disagreed with the Nazi party. They all applied to me living in what you would call a welfare state.

I know you like to discuss history. I do, too. It is a hobby of mine. We can agree the scholarly thing to do is to look at the facts in entirety and realize there are interpretations of it. It seems the truth is conveniently ignored by those who see that it does not fit their ideological bias. Feminists and Marxists are famous for this style of revisionism.

Again, I am not trying to undermine what is being taught in your classes. However, would you agree the hallmarks of a socialist welfare state are public healthcare, unions, public education, and state-owned enterprises? Nazi Germany had them all. It is clear it was not universal in that beneficiaries were those who were considered good Aryan stock. How they got funds to have their welfare state is not really the issue.

I don't know where to begin with the stupid. He undermines his own argument four times. I sort of resent that a man who claims history was his best subject things he can dress down a PhD and a PhD Candidate.

After I told him to convince the department to revise history and its teaching, he took umbrage.

noun

: a social system in which a government is responsible for the economic and social welfare of its citizens and has policies to provide free health care, money for people without jobs, etc.; also : a country that has such a system

Meriam Webster

Britanica says pretty much the same thing.

Wikipedia says of the Welfare State in Germany:
Historian Robert Paxton argues that the welfare state was created primarily by conservatives, and usually opposed by socialists and labor unions because they thought it would distract from their mission. He cites the German welfare state set up by Chancellor Bismarck in the 1880s, and the similar version set up by Count Eduard von Taaffe in the Austro-Hungarian Empire a few years later. The British welfare state originated with the Liberal party of David Lloyd-George around 1910. Though it was true that the French welfare state originated primarily during a period of socialist political ascendency, with the Matignon Accords and the reforms of the Popular Front, it did also arise to some extent, as Paxton claims, with the Vichy regime in the 1940s.[16] Paxton goes on to argue: "All the modern twentieth-century European dictatorships of the right, both fascist and authoritarian, were welfare states…. They all provided medical care, pensions, affordable housing, and mass transport as a matter of course, in order to maintain productivity, national unity, and social peace."[17]

Is Paxton a revisionist?

Again, I ask you to read the first post on this. He quoted Goet Aly first about Nazi Welfare State. . .and when I told him the "welfare state" was not born on taxation, but one confiscation of the Jewish land, money, property and assets and redistributed to the poor of Germany. . .he comes back with the email above.

He has contradicted himself three times in this email.

After I sent him an email with all my sources contradicting him, he sends this last one.

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Naturally, as a Canadian who keeps getting called a Nazi for not accepting the welfare state and socialist policies of Canada, I would surely like to find out if such a label is justified. Being wrong is part of learning and I still consider myself a student of history. I would be grateful to see this evidence in light of the many quotes I have provided from various sources. I would like to know how me all so the sources I have used are wrong. I like I said, they all addressed the same facts you forwarded to me. The point of view that you are coming from is the same I received from my history teachers and the public school curriculum as provided by the Canadian Ministry of Education. Naturally, I am skeptical of government sources. State education is a means of propping up the state to ensure it maintains its power over the people.

I responded with the following:

[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Primary sources are not government sources. . .and government sources come from private historians.

I will disagree with everything. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, but I do not feel it is useful in my class at the present time.

The problem with arguing with a Freeper, teabagger or dittohead is it's similar to arguing with a howler monkey. All the monkey will do is scream, scream louder and throw shit at you, until you get tired and walk away. And then they will stand and act triumphant.

Sometimes, there is small satisfaction to handing a conservaturd his ass on a platter.

Hitler was a Socialist. Orwell was a Communist and I don't know shit about history.

I finally got the treatment. I got the conservaturd co-worker treatment. Please allow me to rant because I am on edge right now. I am pissed off. So the language will be caustic.

I am getting my PhD in China in Chinese History. My first Master's Degree was in Ed. Leadership. My second was in adolescent psychology. I double majored in history and poli sci, and double minored in Philosophy and Geography as an undergraduate. This is my educational background as a history teacher at an international school in China. MY department chair (the other history teacher) has a PhD in Medieval History, a JD from Uni. of Arkansas, an MA in history and a BA in history from Cambridge. Both of us are on the same page educationally and politically.

The chemistry teacher and biology teacher (both vehement liberals) and I are discussing Nazi Germany at lunch. In comes one of the English teachers (for the sake of argument, let's call him DB as in douchebag). So, DB comes in and asks to sit. We oblige and people continue the discussion. After a minute, he pops up that: "You know, Hitler as a socialist!"

Oh no. . .not this shit again. I've heard this meme for years.

Anyway, I tell him no, one of Hitler's aims was to destroy communism and Hitler's political association of Fascism makes socialism impossible. He goes into "they had socialized medicine." I tell him socialized medicine doesn't make someone a socialist. Then he goes into how socialists and communists are the same (they aren't), how his home of Canada is a communistic state (it isn't) and how George Orwell supported communism. I tell him that Animal Farm was the 1917 Russian revolution, that Napoleon was Stalin, the horse was the worker, the pig that was killed was Trotsky and the dogs were the KGB. He tells me George Orwell was a communist. I tell him 1984 was an attack on communism (and all totality in politics actually), then leave and go teach my students that the Road to World War 2 (the lesson was on Czechoslovakia).

After I leave, the discussion continues. The chemistry teacher (one of my best friends) comes up and says that after I left, the English teacher kept on about things, stating "It's a fact that Orwell was a communist, Hitler was a socialist and (me) doesn't know shit." CHALLENGE!!!

I start going through my archives and my documents. Then, the English teacher continues by coming to my desk and telling me that Mussolini and Hitler weren't buddy/buddy. I tell him who told him that? HE said he read it. I ask for the book. (Keep in mind, I just taught four days earlier, a lesson on the Spanish Civil War and Ethiopia).

After that, he sends me an email about a book by Goet Aly about the German welfare state in Nazi Germany and that this book proves it exists. Five seconds on wikipedia to look up who the author is and I come up with this as a response.

The "welfare state" you talk of was not a true welfare state. Welfare States and their redistribution of wealth ideas come from taxation. That's NOT what happened. The Nazi "Welfare State" moved the poor and allowed them social upward mobility, but the ability to do that was taken from the Jews and the "sub-humans" that were not fit to live. Fascism was still the political theory with Capitalism as the economic philosophy. Socialism only applies to the redistribution of wealth taken from "parasites" and given to Germans. Taxes paid for NONE of it.

Again, Nazi Germany was NOT a welfare state, nor was it socialist. The Socialism is a brand name, unless socialism means confiscating from people, denying them their rights to life then exterminating them. Then you're correct.

Okay. . .point proven. He then replies into this long, talking point missive that is some of the most insane shit in the world. Feminists beat him up, he lost in court because the judge was feminist, Socialists in Canada got him fired because he wanted private insurance, Hitler was a socialist because of the name of the party (now a new line of attack) and that he doesn't trust the news, even Fox News, because it's too liberal for him. He claims everything in statist. At the end, he claims that Hitler loved socialism and brings up Ernst Rohm, leader of the SA. Rohm "criticized Hitler for not being socialist and Hitler had him killed, which proves Hitler was socialist.

An email response to everything he said came next, complete with copies of primary sources, digital copies of primary cartoons and this email, refuting everything he said:

Please look at the photos from my lessons (that (my department chair) has used for years that I teach and have added to as well).

1: Yes, Germany had socialized, universal coverage under the Nazis. It was started in 1871 by that great Nazi thinker Otto Von Bismarck, a full 18 years before Hitler was born in Austria and a full 49 years before the NSDAP was established.

2: I don't care about Canada or the Canadian experience. When it's in the lower 48 and Hawai'i and Alaska, I'll be concerned.

Your assertions are not valid. This email is mostly primary sources from the era, as well as the work in lessons (my department chair) and I worked together with our resources, to make.

Please explain to (my department chair) why he is wrong in stating that the Nazis were not Socialists. Please trying to revise history. And please do not teach this in your classes, as this is detrimental to (my department chair) and my teaching of OUR subject.

That last part is added because he is actively trying to refute everything I say in my HISTORY CLASS in his ENGLISH CLASS. I hope my department chair and this clown talk. It will be entertaining, because as my department chair states, "I am 57 years old. I have no tolerance for idiots anymore. If you are and idiot, go away." When I told him what the English teacher was doing, he just muttered, with pure venom under his breath, "he needs to stay out of my fucking classroom."

No response to my email yet. And I don't want one. What a psycho. BTW, my admin knows and is documenting.
