I was not watching TV last night but I am glad to see msnbc cut off trump victory speech.
Somehow--to me it seems better to cut him--as a good optic--rather than not broadcast him at all.

Report: Less than 1% of hospital admissions, emergency room visits made by undocumented migrants

The first official report after Florida’s sweeping immigration measures were put in place a year ago shows that less than 1% of all Florida hospital admissions and emergency room visits were from patients who self-reported as not legally residing in the United States.

But that report also points out that many people would not answer the question.

The report estimates that hospitals provided more than $573 million in health care services to patients who were not in the country legally. But AHCA was unable to determine how much of that care provided to migrants was uncompensated or find “any obvious correlation between the level of uncompensated care and the level of illegal aliens presenting at the hospital.”

And the report stated that “high levels of uncompensated care are more associated with rural county status than illegal immigration percentages. There also did not appear to be a correlation between total profitability and illegal immigration percentages. All the counties that had negative profit margins had below average illegal immigration ratios.”

The report was required under a law designed to clamp down on illegal immigration in Florida. The 2023 law, passed as Gov Ron DeSantis prepared to announce his bid for President, hiked penalties on those aiding migrants to enter the state or employing migrants. Immigration groups, such as The Florida Immigration Coalition, say the law has had a chilling impact on people seeking emergency care, especially pregnant women........................................

My guess in that if illegal, they would not show up at a hospital unless SEVERELY injured. IMHO


The state of Florida tried to put together a report showing that uncompensated healthcare costs
are attributed to undocumented people (by mandating healthcare providers ask immigration status of patients)
and their own report showed exactly the opposite.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has surpassed Tesla founder Elon Musk in wealth, however, Mukesh Ambani is another influential wealthy man whose rank is not talked about much

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has become the richest person in the world after increasing his wealth by $23 billion this year, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, with a net worth of $200 billion.

On the other hand, Elon Musk, the head of SpaceX and social media platform X, lost $31 billion in 2024 but is now the second richest person in the world with a net worth of $198 billion.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Louis Vuitton CEO Bernard Arnault ranks third with a fortune of $197 billion, followed by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg with a fortune of $179 billion. Microsoft founder Bill Gates is in fifth place with a wealth of $150 billion.....................................

Just last week, Donald Trump's lawyers filed an emergency petition to either stay the requirement that he post bond to prevent the judgment from being executed in the NY fraud case, or reduce the amount he is required to post.

In those court filings, Trump's lawyers said he was only able to come up with $100 million in cash towards the roughly $400 million he would need to post. They went on to say that if he was forced to come up with the rest he would have to sell off some of his properties, which would cause him "irreparable harm."

But Trump doesn't want the Fox viewers to know that he doesn't have the cash, so he tells a completely different story on TV. This morning, he went on Fox and Friends and said that he has plenty of money to cover the bond but he just doesn't want to put it up because the whole case is unfair. Of course, they never asked him about the contradiction in his court filing stating he doesn't have the money, which has been reported by every media outlet in the country.
