Debbie Wasserman Schultz waffling on the Iran deal!

If she doesn't back it, will Obama supporters finally support a new DNC chair? She should have been fired for poor performance and losing the Senate.

Bernies suddenly got 41% of hispanics. Voters aren't going to be bullied by the 2 Nates.

He is tied with Hillary among voters 18 to 29. These are national polls. This comes after a week of sniping from superstar pollsters like Nate Cohn and Nate Silver, and villager pundits like Chris Matthews, Markos Moulitas, and Joan Walsh, claiming he had no appeal beyond 30% with young white men.

Is the administration pushing for a coup in Greece, at the behest of neocon Vicky Nuland?

From Naked Capitalism

A putsch in Athens to save allied Greece from enemy Russia is in preparation by the US and Germany, with backing from the non-taxpayers of Greece – the Greek oligarchs, Anglo-Greek shipowners, and the Greek Church. At the highest and lowest level of Greek government, and from Thessaloniki to Milvorni, all Greeks understand what is happening. Yesterday they voted overwhelmingly to resist. According to a high political figure in Athens, a 40-year veteran, “what is actually happening is a slow process of regime change.”

Until Sunday afternoon it was a close-run thing. The Yes and No votes were equally balanced, and the margin between them razor thin. At the start of the morning, Rupert Murdoch’s London Times claimed “Greek security forces have drawn up a secret plan to deploy the army alongside special riot police to contain possible civil unrest after today’s referendum on the country’s future in Europe. Codenamed Nemesis, it makes provision for troops to patrol large cities if there is widespread and prolonged public disorder. Details of the plan emerged as polls showed the ‘yes’ and ‘no’ camps neck and neck.” Greek officers don’t speak to the Murdoch press; British and US government agents do............

The Kremlin understands too. So when the State Department’s Victoria Nuland (nee Nudelman; lead image, right) visited Athens to issue an ultimatum against breaking the anti-Russian sanctions regime, and the Anglo-American think-tanks followed with warnings the Russian Navy is about to sail into Piraeus, the object of the game has been clear. The line for Operation Nemesis has been that Greece must be saved, not from itself or from its creditors, but from the enemy in Moscow. The Russian line has been to do nothing to give credence to that propaganda; to wait and to watch.

As the head of State’s Bureau of European and Eurasian affairs, Nuland is the official in charge of warmaking in Europe. Her record in the Ukraine has been documented here. Almost unnoticed, she was in Athens on March 17 to deliver two ultimatums. The communique released by the US Embassy in Athens was headlined, “we want to see prosperity and growth in Greece.”..............

and yes this is a huge difference between Bernie Sanders and establishment democrats such as Clinton and Obama . Bernie will respect democracies that elect lefty governments and won't try to overthrow them because wallstreet and the neocons don't like them.

Bernie has praised the Greek people and the referendum results.

Fakng a pretext for war has a long democratic tradition going back to

the Gulf of Tonkin Incident. If people don't trust Gore, that is Gore's problem. His performance should hardly inspire the confidence of the antiwar movement. There was evidence Bush was lying long before Hersh wrote the stove piping article. Hanz Blitz said there was no evidence for WMD, but the DLCers chose to trust Bush over the UN Inspector. Common sense was against it too. The secular Bathists of Iraq were no friend of Al Qaeda. The biggest protests against the Iraq war happened before the DLCers voted yes on the IWR. Pelosi called them a "focus group."

Let's just ignore the fact that Obama's supporters are now calling Hersh a conspiracy theorists for discrediting them on the claim that Syria used chemical weapons. Hersch found evidence it was actually the Al Qaeda linked Syian opposition, so now Hersch is enemy number 1 just like he was under the Bush administration.

Obama accepts the legitimacy of corporate lobbyists. The NRA benefits from that.

That is the "New Normal." Unless he repudiates the legitimacy of corporate power, it is impossible to deal with certain problems. He is part of the problem. That is the reason we can't deal with gun problem or the environmental problem.

Hillary can take a technically stronger position on guns than Bernie but she can not deliver because she accepts the legitimacy of corporate lobbying too.

The nra benefits form k-street power, and dlc/new democrats are in denial about it. They halucinate that their silicon valley/wallstreet donors can be separated neatly from big oil, and the nra, but it isn't true. If you empower corporate power, you empower big oil and the nra, as well as wall street and silicon valley. Then they are also in denial about the damage wall street and silicon valley do to ordinary Americans,.

Why do evangelicals have a compulsive need to believe God controls everything

It is not part of the gospel message that God controls everything, yet it is dominant in American evangelicalism.

The lady that caught the Charleston killer believes God did it, not her. If God helped that lady catch Dylann Storm Roof, why did he allow the murders to happen in the first place? They aren't even making God look good to the unchurched, when they claim s/he micromanages everything, because then they have to explain God not intervening at other times.

Then you have evangelical athletes who always want to believe God is responsible for their victories. The Golden Warriors made this claim.

I am a believer myself, but I don't believe God micromanages this earth. What gives? I think it is the proserity gospel or american calvinism.

Andre Iguodala & Stephen Curry's fundamentaiist victory rant wins high marks at the Christian Post

]
Andre Iguodala, the Golden State Warriors forward who won this season's NBA championship with his team Tuesday night along with the Most Valuable Player award, thanked God for the win and said the team is "full of believers."

&quot We've) got a team full of believers. We all say God has a way for you and a purpose for you," Iguodala, 31, said after receiving the MVP honor. "I want to be just like Steph (Curry)when I grow up — just a God fearing man."........................

"Sometimes people make it seem like you have to have certain prerequisites or a crazy life story in order to be successful in this world. But the truth is you really don't," Curry said after accepting his MVP trophy earlier this year. "It doesn't matter where you come from, what you have or don't have, what you lack or what you have too much of. But all you need to have is faith in God, an undying passion for what you do and what you choose to do in this life, and a relentless drive and the will to do whatever it takes to be successful in whatever you put your mind to............."

Am I the only one that notices sports have become another form of right wing indoctrinition. The Pacquio vs Mayweather, hyped up fight, was a fight between a fundamentalist and a ayn randy. Both believe they are successful because they of moral superiority. Both are right wing republicans.

I know people like to associate the black faithful with liberation theologists like MLK, but modern Black religion is dominated by right wingers like TD Jakes, and the prosperity gospel.

I am not an atheist myself but the religious right is a perversion of faith in my view.

There was no trouble until we decided to move Nato into the Ukraine

despite treaties with Gorbechev specifically agreeing not to do such a thing. Not to mention making an issue out of a base they held for hundreds of years in a part of the country that was traditionally russian and majority ethnic Russian. We changed policy, ,broke the treaties and that provoked it. We are the warmongers. The facebook/twitter stuff is probably a response to the conflict, quit frankly. We organized the coup through those media.

May 21, 2015

The good news is, much of this stuff is still buried under the desert, and Isis can't touch it.

The bad news is. the neocons dominate American foreign policy, so America will continue arming Isis. They will arm Isis in order to undermine the influence of Iran, on behalf of the Likudniks in Israel, and the Saudis. Doesn't matter if it is a mainstream republican or democrat, the neocon PNAC dominates foreign policy. The only two political affiliations that change this dynamic are the libertarian leaning republicans like the Pauls, and some progressive Democrats like Bernie Sanders, Alan Grayson, and Sherrod Brown. The neocon dominated Press is completely against them.

So there isn't much you can do to stop Isis, if you are committed to mainstream candidates, other than beg in vein. Mainstream politicians are all committed to the foreign policy objectives of the Saudis and the Israelis. More so than they are to America. The neocon Press dictates everything and they want Isis to win. Unless you defy, this dynamic, you should just take up gardening or some other hobby, because nothing will ever change or get better in your lifetime.

May 21, 2015

It isn't either or. Bush contributed too, but he hasn't been in office for 6 and half years

Obama didn't completely reverse Bush's policy. He just pursued PNAC goals through funding insurgents rather than committing troupes. It didn't matter whether the insurgents were far worse than the regime the PNAC wanted gone. It is like you are saying that because Johnson escalated Viet Nam, Nixon bears no responsibility for keeping it going 7 years after promising to end the war. It is bipartisan stupidity like Wallstreet bailouts. Everything DC polls have a consensus on is a bad idea.

BTW, Bush didn't do it alone. Many mainstream dems gave him a blank check by voting for the IWR, including Hillary. Why oh why did Obama give her a foreign policy job when she is sucks so much at it, and that was the reason we voted for Obama over Hillary Clinton?
