I won caregiver of the quarter for the southeast region.
Last year my home health office gave me caregiver of the year. It was nice to be recognized at home. They sent the information and a nice letter about me to the corporate office and the company recognized me for this quarter. It comes with a little bonus, a plaque and my picture in the news letter. It also puts me in the running for caregiver of the year for my whole corporation.
I've been a nurse over 30 years and this is the first award for my hard work that I have ever gotten. Nursing is such a thankless job usually, but my office treats me so well. This makes me very happy.
On edit, I just have to say I love my job. I have always loved being a nurse. I'm a born nurturer. I have one pediatric patient who is fed by a g-tube after being born with her intestines outside her body. She is 22 months old, can recite all the ABC's and count to 20. She is absolutely delightful and the family is great.
Anyone else wear their mask and get a little thrill to trigger covidiots?
I live in the deep south and get "the look" from the dumbasses who don't get it. So far I haven't had anything said to me and I don't know what my response would be if I did. But I hope I'm getting to them a little. Yeah, it's petty, but it's the little things that make life sweet.

Due to Covid, I was reluctant last year to go into a vet's office to get my female shitzu-yorkie, Milan, spayed. After our old man miniature poodle Charlie passed away in June, we got a poodle-shitzu Cujo. The soonest we could get appointments for them to get fixed was in August.
So, we had an oops. Milan and Cujo are now the proud parents of 2 girls and 2 boys. Don't worry though. We're going to keep at least 2 of them and will definitely get them fixed. Milan will get spayed as soon as they are weened and Cujo was able to keep his appointment in August, so he is neutered.
They are shtizu-yorkie-poos.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claims victory in Canada election but falls short in bid to form major

Montreal(CNN)Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Liberal Party will form Canada's next government following a tightly contested general election against conservative rival Erin O'Toole.
Trudeau, however, fell short of his target of winning the necessary 170 seats to form a majority government.
As at 2 a.m. ET, Elections Canada showed the Liberals winning 157 seats compared to the Conservatives' 122 seats, with nearly 95% of polls across the country reporting.

My patient's dad tested positive. I am livid!
I am a private duty nurse and one of my medically fragile patient's parents are willfully unvaccinated. I broached the subject of vaccines a few weeks ago as the Delta variant was spreading. They did not give a specific reason why they weren't vaccinated, but it is part of my job to educate and I did and let it go.
I found out today that the dad who works in the public, was positive for Covid. I am so angry! Their 1 yo child is medically fragile and this disease could easily kill him. They have another child, 6 yo who is also at risk.
I have just had it. If this child gets sick and dies, I think CPS should be called. Stupid dumb assed idiots!! Gggrrrr!
