What's more about computer help and support than this?

(Perhaps you've seen this before, if not, get out the tissues.)

About 12 months ago, a Youtube tech video maker guy lost his apartment in a fire.

He lost his clothes, his cameras, some of his computers and hard drives.

He makes his money on Youtube making Youtube videos about technology, as do about a couple dozen people around the world.

Well, some of those Youtube guys got together and did this.

Tear alert.. at 11 minutes into the short video, (19 minutes into the longer one), father and son scene..that's what got to me!

No, this is not a contrived video, not a joke, this really happened, and was really recorded and shared on Youtube about ten months ago.

Guys (or women) taking care of each other.. isn't this what ultimately "computer help and support" is all about?

If You Think Jeb Bush Is A Moderate, Then You Missed His 1994 Campaign

If You Think Jeb Bush Is A Moderate, Then You Missed His 1994 Campaign

The cornerstone of Bush's campaign was a sweeping set of conservative proposals that, if enacted, would have made Florida a virtual laboratory for far-right policy.

"I would abolish the Department of Education as it now exists, reducing the 2,000 person bureaucracy to about 50 to administer federal education funding and maintain minimum academic standards in Florida's schools," Bush told the Orlando Sentinel in a November 1994 interview.

Bush also laid out a plan to require that any proposed new taxes be approved directly by Florida voters, a strategy that would have made it nearly impossible to pass them. What state revenue there was, Bush said, should be used whenever possible to hire private corporations to replace state employees.

"We must push privatization [of government] in every area where privatization is possible," Bush told the Sentinel.

Bill Maher on Terrorism and the Charlie Hebdo Attack

"We have to stop saying, 'Well we should not insult a great religion,'" Maher continued. "First of all, there are no great religions. They're all stupid and dangerous. And we should insult them. And we should be able to insult whatever we want. That is what free speech is like."

Maher finished his discussion with host Jimmy Kimmel by emphasizing that the Muslim religion supports violence.

"I know most Muslim people would not have carried out an attack like this," Maher said, "but here's the important point: hundreds of millions of them support an attack like this. They applaud an attack like this. … When you make fun of the Prophet, you get what's coming to you. … This is a problem in the world that we have to stand up to."

Scientists Are Beginning to Figure Out Why Conservatives Are…Conservative

Scientists Are Beginning to Figure Out Why Conservatives Are…Conservative

In other words, the conservative ideology, and especially one of its major facets—centered on a strong military, tough law enforcement, resistance to immigration, widespread availability of guns—would seem well tailored for an underlying, threat-oriented biology.

The authors go on to speculate that this ultimately reflects an evolutionary imperative. "One possibility," they write, "is that a strong negativity bias was extremely useful in the Pleistocene," when it would have been super-helpful in preventing you from getting killed. (The Pleistocene epoch lasted from roughly 2.5 million years ago until 12,000 years ago.) We had John Hibbing on the Inquiring Minds podcast earlier this year, and he discussed these ideas in depth; you can listen here:

Gohmert warns America: ‘It’s going to devastate this country’ if I’m not elected Speaker of the Hous

Gohmert warns America: ‘It’s going to devastate this country’ if I’m not elected Speaker of the House

Gohmert predicted that up to 30 percent of Republicans could “abandon” the party if Boehner was not ousted as Speaker.

“They are so fed up that we are not fighting for what we said, and if we don’t show them that, it’s going to devastate this country,” he remarked. “We could have another Democratic president in 2016. We have got to show the American people that they don’t need to abandon the Republican Party. There are people in the party that are willing to stand up and fight for the very things we promised we would do.”

“And we can do those things. We can put Obama on the defensive just by completely getting rid of the Internal Revenue code,” Gohmert added. “We can do that.”

The Ten Commandments: open for comment.

The 10 Commandments List, Short Form
You shall have no other gods before Me.
You shall not make idols.
You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Honor your father and your mother.
You shall not murder.
You shall not commit adultery.
You shall not steal.
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
You shall not covet.

http://lifehopeandtruth.com/bible/10-commandments/the-ten-commandments/10-commandments-list/

Aside from the reason why anyone would obey her/his creator, why would it be necessary to "COMMAND" people to obey the CREATOR's creation?

Aside from the fact that at least 7 of the 10 commandments have nothing to do with taking care of each other on this, (among 100,000, 000, 000 one hundred billion planets), somehow this one god delivered this to us, his chosen people, much hundreds of years before Jesus Christ.

This is offensive to most Chistians, and some Jewish folks and some Muslims. Just get that straight:

Does science ever play a part in The Ten Commandments?

Discuss among yourselves.

1 Why do we need 10 when seveal are re-statements of each other?

2. What is the nature of a "commandment" when a god can intercede and fix it, or make it word, depending upon the beliefs and mind of the believer?

3. If a god gave us this universe, why did he/she need to tell us what to do with it that we could not figure out for ourselves?

Mrs. Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, looks back at her quips and concerns in 2014.

Betty added a comment to her own video:

"Facts have a notorious liberal bias. And an open mind is Satan's blow-up sex toy."

Don't miss some of the comments on this video.

Then there's this from a viewer:

What science can verifiably show is wrong about the Bible is called an allegory, what science can't disprove about the Bible is called "truth".

Sarah Palin Named American Achiever of 2014 By Deranged Wingnut Website

You gotta love it when conservatives make such fools of themselves that it’s impossible to tell the difference between satire and reality. An epic and hilarious example of this is the article published by the ultra right-wing blog American Thinker (a name that must have been chosen for its irony).

Sarah Palin

The alleged “Thinkers” have chosen Sarah Palin as their recipient of the 2014 American Achiever honors. Now, you may be wondering what in hell Palin achieved to deserve that recognition. She hasn’t done a single thing since resigning after half a term as governor of Alaska other than her laughable reality programs and some embarrassing segments on Fox News. Well, the Thinkers spell out specifically what she managed to achieve:

“It would be the height of churlishness for even the most inveterate leftist to deny the import of someone who made Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People” list, and then the Smithsonian Institution’s “100 Most Significant Americans Of All Time” list. Both affirmations were earned by former Alaska governor and vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.”

Forgive my churlishness, but this inveterate leftist has no problem denying Palin’s import. Particularly when the examples of her achievements in 2014 include making a Time magazine list that was published four years ago in 2010. Yep, that’s the listing to which the Thinkers linked. And the tribute in Time was written by that bastion of modern political relevance, Ted Nugent.

Pope Francis offered "affection and prayers" to those affected by the Norman Atlantic ferry fire

1 dead as hundreds await rescue on burning ferry

http://edition.cnn.com/2014/12/28/world/europe/italy-greece-ferry-fire/

What else has he got?

What? This guy who rules over the minds and hearts of about a billion of the 7 billion people all over the world doesn't have a navy or more than one or two helicopters to help out?

What's he got? "affection and prayers"!

That will do it.

I wonder if this thread will be reported as "disrespectful" to those with "sincerely-held" religious affiliations or beliefs.

We shall see.

But really, what do these religious leaders have to offer humankind when they are literally burning to death on a sinking ferry? "affection and prayers"

Intervention: Congressman Alan Grayson and Osceola commissioner step in on gay marriage

UPDATE: THIS AFTERNOON, STATE ATTORNEY JEFF ASHTON RELEASED THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT:

"State Attorney Jeffrey L. Ashton informed the Clerks of Courts in Orange and Osceola counties today that his office will not prosecute them for issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples when the ban is lifted on January 6th."

VICTORY!!!!

Maybe it's the holiday crunch and the associated number of days people will be drinking outside of the office – or perhaps because it's a huge and necessary battle about why equality matters in this state and nationwide – but the developments in Florida's gay marriage conundrum are happening almost every hour on the hour. Yesterday, we reported that Miami-Dade Clerk of Courts Harvey Ruvin was seeking some clarity from the courts on whether he was actually going to be able to issue marriage licenses on Jan. 6, seeing as, well, the marriage ban is unconstitutional in every way possible, and the U.S. Supreme Court has denied U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi a stay on the issuance of licenses next month. Many of the state's 67 county clerks, though, fear legal retribution, thanks to a discredited report from advisers to the state clerks association.
