Twitter suspends journalists who have been covering Elon Musk and the company
Source: NBC News
Twitter suspended several high-profile journalists Thursday evening who have been covering the company and Elon Musk.
The suspensions come a day after Twitter changed its policies around accounts that track private jets, including one owned by Elon Musk.
The accounts of Ryan Mac of The New York Times, Donie O'Sullivan of CNN, Drew Harwell of The Washington Post, Matt Binder of Mashable, Micah Lee of The Intercept and independent journalists Aaron Rupar and Tony Webster had all been suspended as of Thursday evening.
It was not immediately clear why their accounts were suspended.
The Twitter account for Mastodon, a platform billed as an alternative, was also suspended early Thursday evening.

So much for Elon's freedom of speech claim ...
Re Trumps Request for Special Master .. DoJ has already done that
https://twitter.com/DevlinBarrett/status/1564260557875732480NEW: Trumps Mar-a-Lago documents already examined by filter team, Justice Dept. tells judge. Officials say the attorney-client privilege review was completed even before the judge's weekend ruling suggesting a special master might be appointed.
https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.flsd.618763/gov.uscourts.flsd.618763.31.0_6.pdf
Although the government will provide the Court more detail in its forthcoming
supplemental filing, the government notes that, before the Court issued its Preliminary
Order, and in accordance with the judicially authorized search warrant's provisions,
the Privilege Review Team (as described in paragraphs 81-84 of the search warrant
affidavit) identified a limited set of materials that potentially contain attorney-client
privileged information, completed its review of those materials, and is in the process
of following the procedures set forth in paragraph 84 of the search warrant affidavit to
address potential privilege disputes, if any.
The DoJ response tomorrow will deal with some of the other bogus claims like those related to executive privilege (already waived in writing by the White House and backed up by a SCOTUS decision against Trump last winter) and the Presidential Records Act Trump pretending it applies when the warrant did not rely on it nor need to.
Hey Lindsey, if u get indicted, no one will be rioting in the streets for u

I'll leave Fani to speak for herself and the people of Georgia in the link above.
You'll see just how capable she is.
Lindsey is no match for her.
She clobbers him.
Key Details about Trump's lawyer for the Mar-a-lago cases
Emptywheel is nearly always excellent. No disappointment with this post:
KEY DETAILS ABOUT EVAN CORCORAN THAT EVAN CORCORAN DID NOT DISCLOSE TO JUDGE AILEEN CANNON (CAPS from Emptywheel blog)
https://www.emptywheel.net/2022/08/29/key-details-about-evan-corcoran-that-evan-corcoran-did-not-disclose-to-judge-aileen-cannon/
DoJ has until tomorrow to respond. As of the writing of the judge's order, DoJ had not been properly served
Evan Corcoran is a lawyer for Trump.
Emptywheel documents a bunch of the issues related to Corcoran and this Special Master case.
I'll let their good blog speak for itself.
Corcoran did the search for the classified documents in June and drafted the letter that the OAN Tv personality lawyer (Christina Bobb) signed.
The OAN TV personality lawyer (Christina Bobb) signed the letter because she was the custodian of the documents.
So who gave her and Corcoran top level security clearance and when? ....
And since they were involved in the search and the letter falsely declaring to the FBI that there were no more classified documents at Mar-a-lago, who is the lawyer representing them against the potential obstruction charges?
Corcoran has some significant conflict of interest issues here as Emptywheel points out. It's a great blog post.
Tomorrow, DoJ has to respond (as they finally got served properly).
They're going to cream these buffoons on the Presidential records act, etc.
Wednesday is not going to be a good day for Trump with respect to this case as the media covers the response
Affidavit in a nutshell

NYT: Mitch McConnell "said to believe Pres. Trump committed impeachable offenses"
https://twitter.com/MSNBC/status/1349112999747977218I guess we'll see where that goes ... don't want to get our hopes up ...
This is something you'd never see from Trump
https://twitter.com/MichelleKinney/status/1318978084771594244You can't fake that.
Joe's been doing it for decades.
Looks like Trump is still getting an IV
See the bandage on his hand taken at his recent rally:
https://twitter.com/tombrennerphoto/status/1315007980241399813
Here's a link to a Trump pic showing his hands when he arrived home from the hospital with no bandages on his hands

So the bandage - typically for an IV based upon the care given to my parents - is more recent - came after Walter Reed visit.
My observant sister sent me these.
This was chilling for me to watch and absorb ...
Ari Melber asks David Frum to weigh in on Georgia's return to work. Video should be at the spot where Frum starts his response:
Frum's response at 34:44 is what caught my attention.
Frum makes reference to this article
Coronavirus Advice From Abroad: 7 Lessons Americas Governors Should Not Ignore as They Reopen Their Economies
https://www.propublica.org/article/coronavirus-advice-from-abroad-7-lessons-americas-governors-should-not-ignore-as-they-reopen-their-economies
Frum also discusses it here:
https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/04/trump-trading-lives-poor-economic-growth/610264/
I think there's a good chance Frum is correct.
Trump will panic that he cannot get reelected unless the economy is back. He knows that will take time. They floated a trial balloon earlier and got the feedback on the objections they'll have to overcome. Since they're not doing any of the seven things they would need to do to bring the economy back, Trump will see it as he has no choice. There will be a political calculation to let many die to bring the economy back.
How else can it be? Trump isn't doing any of the things he would need to to bring the economy back like many advised Propublica. Not bringing back the economy is not an option for Trump politically. So the worst may well be yet to come.
"Take the punch. Mostly minorities and the poor ..."
"Mortality rate for opening up ...."
What a horror.
Talk me down.
I cannot believe what I just typed but I'm struggling to refute it.
And this buffoon is the one going to make this decision?
