Trump is burning it down slowly to rebuild it in the MAGA image. Get it over with quick. Shut it down. Do it on our terms, not his. It's happening anyway.
This may be a dumb question, but it's sincere and I'd like an answer. If I can have my neighbor arrested for punching me
in the face, and it's on video, why can't Renee Nicole Good's wife make a criminal complaint? Aren't many arrests the result of a citizen's complaint that a crime has been committed? When exactly can "do you want to press charges?" get asked of the victim?
"Don't make any bad decisions" is their new pre-self defense killing language.
I've seen a number of videos of ICE agents saying that, some with gun in hand.
It chills me. It angers me. Any decision is a bad decision if it ends up getting you shot. And going anywhere ICE is could get you shot. So if you go anywhere ICE is and get shot, the default guilty party is you for being there. The very combination of being there and being shot by ICE is what will stamp you with being a "Domestic Terrorist". This is the Administration's de facto legal stance. And they are going to get away with it. All he needs is every branch of government, one third of America to practically worship him and one third of America to do nothing.
This is not the turning point I thought it would be. We've seen turning points come and go, each with greater urgency but weaker momentum to change the direction we're headed. I fear the juggernaut of insanity has completely overwhelmed us. I fear the center will not hold.
Does anyone here think ass agent Ross will or won't be charged for any criminal homicide?
I'm not so sure.
I don't think Nicole was badly hit by that first shot. I believe it was the next two that killed her.
Did you see where that bullet entered the window? Way down in the corner. Follow a bullet coming from anywhere near the right front fender/headlight area and entering the front window in the right lower corner where it did. It looks way far off from any trajectory leading to a lethal head shot. It is so far off, it may have missed her completely.
It was the second and third shot that throws self defense out the window.
But if she was alive with a non-fatal wound, or no wound at all, after that first shot, manslaughter doesn't cut it.
This better end up in the hands of a jury that is allowed to see all the evidence.
I don't know how many Afghans were allowed into the US. Tens of thousands? Hundreds of thousands?
Every time I see the number, especially in Facebook memes, it gets bigger. The right has vilified every Afghan brought in under that program and they've vilified President Biden for letting them all in.
And somehow, the more they say he let in, the more they vilify. The worse they make it seem.
But here's the thing. Out of that huge number, whatever it is, how many Afghan immigrants have committed an act of terror or violence that made headlines in the last five years?
I don't remember any.
That fact that no one has mentioned this program or the Afghans invited here, or have been in the news since they arrived speaks to me of its success. I haven't seen many talking heads pointing this out.
Is this lasting pace, or just a glorified ceasefire?
Because I've seen no hint of a structured settlement both sides could live with.
I'm ignorant about most everything, so tell me why we shouldn't just let Trump's government shut down.
Let the deadline pass. Most every die hard MAGAT wants every Democrat and every liberal they can identify in jail. That's not an exaggeration. And it seems, so does Trump.
We are losing everything that was American Democracy. The government is all his now. Hand it to him on its deathbed. Kill it dead so he can't bring it back to life.
I know the idea is ridiculous, but someone's gotta tell me why.
How I feel: We're done. Toast. The coup is almost complete. And so
fuck funding a government that is lost to us. I'd rather have an economic disaster than a fascist takeover.
And I'm convinced nothing, now, except an economic disaster will disrupt his plans and finally bring him down.
Those text messages have made everyone following Kirk's death a conspiracy theorist. Everyone.
"Nobody's buying any of this" has been said by everyone from Steve Bannon to Cenk Uiger. And I really don't know what to think anymore. Well, I'll tell you. I read all the texts available. I bought it. Sounded ligit. The guy text confessed to his lover. Cut. And. Dried.
And then I watched my usual political channels on YouTube, on all sides on the political spectrum. None of them are "buying this".
The texts are too conversational. with complete sentences dominating. Weird especially for a 'terminally online' 22 yr old.
The confession is too complete, giving Prosecutors everything they need to convict. An added bonus is letting everyone know his father is super-pro-MAGA, as if Robinson's yearlong live in lover wasn't well aware of that all ready.
There are no timestamps provided, hinting that Robinson had knowledge of things going on that he couldn't have had.
I don't know the truth. I don't know what to think. If the whole country feels this way, I only fear that so many - including me- are ripe for manipulation. And they are better at that.
