I'm seeing a lot of scary posts about possible coups

For those of you not given to conspiracies how much of a threat do you think this truly is? To me it seems like many different levels of government would have to conspire so it seems unlikely, but it's a distressing thought nevertheless. Hopefully it's just more fear porn, a common occurrence during this nightmarish administration. It seems that all Trump's legal efforts to undermine the election will ultimately fail. Let's hope then they don't do something even more crazy than usual.

It seems there's a lot of talk that we've won

but I'm having a hard time reconciling that rail thin lead in Nevada and some maybe (minor) uncertainly surrounding Arizona. Not trying to wet the bed but somebody who feels convinced Biden is going to win please calm my/our (for the others still feeling uneasy) nerves. Thanks!

For those of you who have done a deep dive into early voting

how strong is it looking for Democrats? Thanks in advance!

There's no way Trump could still be contagious, right?

Just a little worried about the debate and Biden's safety. Really hoping it doesn't happen. As far as I know, COVID-19 patients usually cease to be contagious about 10 days after symptoms begin. However, the White House's lack of clarity on the president's health makes me uncomfortable. What a shit show.

Voted!

Came prepared this time with a new face shield to protect myself from the Trump supporters who refuse to wear masks (In Montgomery County, where I live in TX, there is a mask mandate, just like everywhere in the state, but the Republican judge in our county went out of his way to let everyone know he will not enforce it. Most people still wear masks but it's frustrating). Got some funny looks with my mask and shield but I've got parents in their 70's so I'm not messing around. Took about 35 minutes and it felt good to exercise my constitutional right. Now, I've got to try to not worry about the things I can't control (Easier said than done).

So what's the status for future presidential debates?

I'm hearing mixed things. I know about the competing town halls tomorrow, but I'm really hoping there are no more in person debates. Biden doesn't need to do it and how can anyone possibly trust Trump at this point? I mean, it's likely he is no longer contagious but you just can't trust anything the WH says about Covid tests or anything else for that matter. Stay away Joe!

I tried to early vote today

in Montgomery County, TX, in The Woodlands, a suburb of Houston. I was told the line to get into vote would be about 2 hours, which isn't a problem as I would wait all day to vote if I had to. However, very few people in the line were spaced 6 feet apart and many were not wearing masks, either. I realize outside is less of an issue than inside and I'd expect most the of voters to put on their masks when they went inside to vote but the sheer crowds made me a little uncomfortable, especially when a lady decked out in MAGA gear got directly behind me in line. Surprise Surprise: No mask! I wanted to tell her "You know they're not going to let you in like that with Trump gear," but why bother. I could sense a developing Karen moment. Anyway, to counter this issue, I decided I'm going to order a face shield to go along with my mask and try to arrive at the polling location before they open at 8. In '16, I early voted the first week (today is the first day in TX) and it took 15 minutes. All signs point to a high turnout election, which is great news for Democrats everywhere! I just wish more people took this pandemic seriously.
