While Marijuana is now legal, police can still pull you over for excessive use the same way that they can stop you for a dui. If someone reeks of alcohol or weed, cops can stop you and arrest you.
Suing Trump
The Trump Regime just posted an image of the bastard as Superman. Probably fair use but I wish Warners could sue that son of a bitch. Copyright infringement. The bastard has been in our faces every god damned day for over ten years and I am sick of it. I hope that the son of a bitch dies of natural causes and soon. That would be a great day. Son of a bitch throwing little old ladies out of nursing homes and starving kids. I want to see his damned obituary.
Gothic Horror
I did not see a Culture Forum for Gothic Horror so I am posting this here. I like Gothic Horror like Edgar Allen Poe. I am not a fan of gore and excessive violence. I intended to write a Vampire Trilogy similar to Anne Rice's work except more Masculine and History and War Oriented. The Trilogy Titles are -- Immortal Blood (I believe this title has been taken. I have had this title for decades), Eternal Night, and Infinite Darkness. After the Trilogy was concluded I intended to Open up the Immortal Blood world to other Authors through an Anthology Book or Series. I don't have the time to write the books but I might adapt them and write some Film Treatments. really would have liked to have met Ann Rice. She is one of the people that made me want to write. Anyway, any Vampire or Gothic fans out there? A break from politics as usual. Usually I read this sort of Stuff closer to Spooky Season. Maybe favorite books combining Gothic Horror with Fantasy or similar Genres?

Restoring the Federal Government
The NIH and the other Agencies and Departments that have been damaged by this current Administration need to be restored. I think Democrats allied with some more Moderate Republicans could retake the House and Senate in 2026 and we could get past the American Trauma that we have gone through these past six months. Constructive and Reasonable comments are welcome and I am always open to corrections and discussion.
Universal Basic Income II
I know that UBI is a Tech Bro kind of idea, but it might work as a Democratic Policy. It would vastly simplify the Federal Bureaucracy. All Federal Workers that lose their jobs in the Process would be eligible for UBI and could go off of UBI if they were willing and able. The Federal Government could be saved. We need to defend and restore the NIH and other Crown Jewels of American Civilization. We could also get a lot of former Republican voters with such a policy when we regain control of the House in 2026. Just an idea.
Recruiting More Democrats
We need to recruit more High Level Establishment Dems and anti-MAGA Republicans to this Site. There are a lot of good people and ideas here and word needs to get out. Pod Save America, Dr. Maddow, Tim Miller, Bryan Taylor Cohen (sp?) should at least have some Staff and Assistants following DU. More ideas are on the way.
Medicare For All
If we could get UBI and Medicare for All that would be a great political accomplishment. Medicare For All should have private insurance on top of basic Medicare (if someone wants it and can afford it). The Super Rich will always have access to high level medicine regardless. So three tiers- Medicare For All, Supplemental Private Insurance, and Platinum Level Care for the Super Rich. I am not a Fan of some in the so called Billionaire Class but we need to get some of them on our side. Gates is the best example of how a Responsible Businessman should act. More can be said but I will leave off for now.
Policy Forum
I did a quick scan and I did not see a Policy Forum here on DU. Someone should contact Earl and get a Policy Forum going. I studied Political Science at the Rockefeller College in Albany. I am sure that there are other Policy Oriented Folks here on DU. We need more Policy discussions here on DU.
