I am writing about the Senate Reconciliation Bill and attempts to sell/dispose of public lands across the American West.

I am opposed to any land disposal whatsoever. This proposal to dismantle public lands in the West must be stopped, removed from the Reconciliation Bill, and never be brought forth again.

I can’t express the importance of public lands across the West. Lands being sold to the highest bidder is a betrayal of the spirit of public land, the character of the West, and how we live.

This land disposal must be stopped!

Have they changed any income tax rates, or is it still just all talk?

As I am self-employed, I have to pay estimated tax for the 2025 tax year by April 15, June 15, September 15 and January 15th. So I have to make an estimated payment in the next 2 weeks.

It's complicated for me because I never know exactly how much income I will have for the year, and the income is seasonal as well. Plus I have small investments which I won't know the final income until early next year. So it's already complicated for us.

On top of that, there is all this hot air about changing the tax rates (T said he wanted no income tax on incomes under $150,000). I assume that's just more BS and that won't really happen.

Apparently as of now, the rates for the 2025 tax year are still 10%, 12%, 22%, 24%, 32%, 35%, and 37%, but the thresholds between each rate are adjusted for inflation. This is what we have to go by for this tax year?

What will America be like 1 year from now?

What will be different from how it is today?

The investor class takes a hit. Will that help stop Trump/Musk?

Stock market drops for the last couple of weeks and "bigly" today. Finally someone other than poor or middle class people are hurt by T & M. Now will there finally some real pushback?

Will Elon's coup succeed or fail?

And why?

I think it's doomed to fail even if it nominally "succeeds," because where is he going to find people with the expertise to run all these specific functions in government? Is he going to use AI to run it? Will it be a "self-driving" sort of government? How is he going to implement his wild fantasy of a techno corporatocracy? He doesn't even know how anything works in government. What if it all crashes like one of his self-driving cars? Then what?
