What it is to have an adult in the room

I've read the letter posted by the Iranian leader. A truly eloquent lesson on the history of Iran.
Compare that to the coming tirade by TSF. We all know how juvenile it will be.

Lawfare: Iran Will Retaliate in the U.S. We May Not See It in Time

This article came out on Tuesday, but I just saw it. It says the obvious - TSF has broken our government so that we will not be able to defend ourselves when the terrorists strike. No paywall at link.

On the first day of the U.S.-Israeli airstrikes in Iran, a strange short-wave radio signal began broadcasting a message in Farsi. A man’s voice repeatedly announced, “Tavajjoh! Txavajjoh!” (Attention! Attention!), followed by a string of numbers. As of late last week, the voice has broadcast the seemingly random numbers nearly 10 times.

The mysterious broadcast immediately sparked concern. Some have suggested it is someone outside Iran trying to reach inside the country. The federal government appears concerned that it may be a person or agency inside Iran communicating a message “intended to activate or provide instructions to prepositioned sleeper assets operating outside of Iran.”

Given Iran’s history of malicious operations outside of its soil, that concern is unsurprising. Long before this current conflict, Iran has engaged in terrorist attacks, targeted assassinations, cyberattacks, and information operations—and it uses a network of proxies and spies to amplify its reach, including within the United States.

This time, however, there is one crucial difference. In previous administrations, hundreds of national security professionals across agencies relentlessly pursued answers and took action to thwart attacks during international conflict, respond, and hold the perpetrators accountable. But the Trump administration has gutted this capacity through firings, forced resignations, and slashed budgets at agencies such as the FBI, the Justice Department, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the National Security Agency (NSA), and more. The public servants who remain are already stretched thin, and many have been assigned to other White House priorities like immigration enforcement and Epstein document review.

Pretty much what many of us have been saying since TSF came back into office.

Is the Government Punishing Anthropic for Speech?

https://www.dorfonlaw.org/2026/03/is-government-punishing-anthropic-for.html

An interesting op Ed on the issue of Anthropic being blacklisted by the government. I always enjoy the articles written here, they give me a thoughtful set of differing opinions. No paywall, feel free to read the whole thing without trackers or ads or a paywall of any sort.

I want to raise a question about Anthropic's contention that the government is retaliating against it for free speech. Recall that Anthropic doesn't want its products used for mass surveillance or in autonomous weapons but that the Defense Department sought to change those terms to allow any lawful use. The hammer of the supply-chain risk designation is pretty obviously designed to punish Anthropic, but is it designed to punish Anthropic for speech? To answer that question, I'll consider a hypothetical one.

Post 55 communities question - downside?

I'm visiting some friends in AZ this week and they live in a "55 and up" community. It looks like a nice place, unbelievably low property taxes (because no schools), lots of social activities and the whole world here is geared towards folks my age.

It seems a little odd to me that the local ecology is so narrowly designed. There are no young families here, unless they are visiting Grandma. No schools, no day cares, no public parks, no police... Weird.

So what is the downside to this? What am I missing here? It just seems unhealthy to me that a community is so narrowly designed, but I can't come up with any real reason why that is so.

Homeland Security suspends TSA PreCheck and Global Entry airport security programs

Source: AP

WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is suspending the TSA PreCheck and Global Entry airport security programs as a partial government shutdown continues.

The programs are designed to help speed registered travelers through security lines. Suspending them could cause headaches for fliers.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement that “shutdowns have serious real world consequences.” She also said that “TSA and CBP are prioritizing the general traveling population at our airports and ports of entry and suspending courtesy and special privilege escorts.”

The partial government shutdown began Feb. 14 after Democrats and the White House were unable to reach a deal on legislation to fund the Department of Homeland Security. Democrats have been demanding changes to immigration operations that are core to President Donald Trump’s deportation campaign.

How many ultra-rich support the GOP because they are in the Epstein Files?

This question has been going through my head for several days now. The Republican Party has been in charge of the DOJ and the FBI since Epstein was first arrested. So many others have been discovered, then squirreled away, the names never coming out. The current DOJ continues to hide the identities of those pedophiles for some reason.

How many of those sending big money to the GOP are doing so because their names are in those files?

Speculate- who is on the E List?

Since this investigation started on 2003, Republicans have been in charge at the FBI and DOJ. They have been the ones responsible for hiding all those names and all those actions. Well, it's finally coming out and this shit is pretty heinous. I keep hearing that this will take down a lot of powerful people. ("People", not just "men&quot

This has me thinking that a large number of Very Powerful within the GOP are not just mentioned, but they have their actions described as well. Because the GOP is so adamant that this remains under wraps, it has me thinking that there must be some very powerful folks recorded in those documents.

How many members of the Supreme Court are listed? Judging from the responses of those running interference, I'd say at least two. Of course we know that TSF is all over those papers. I bet there are at least five Senators and more than ten high value campaign donors as well.

I want to see all of them exposed, prosecuted and imprisoned. It will need to wait until the Democrats are back in power, but it MUST happen.

Attorneys: can't the Bar do anything?

I'm not an attorney, and I didn't play one on TV. Like most of us, I use them when needed, but I understand very little about how they work.

What I want to know is- why isn't the Bar Association taking a vocal stand against the obvious abuses of our legal system? Pam Bondi shouldn't be practicing law IMO, but then again, I'm not an attorney. Those of you who are, please explain why the Bar has remained so silent.

My example is the Attorney General, but the question is really applicable to all the members of the Trump administration who are attorneys.
