Rethugs actively root against the USA - Womens World Cup Spoiler inside!

Just got a text from my brother (he's family, and I love him, but can't stand his political views) about the USWNT losing their game. All the typical "Go Woke, Go Broke" and they should concentrate on the game instead of political correctness. Admits he was rooting against them, and I know he wasn't alone in that. Let it be known from sea to shining sea, reThugs actively root against the USA and would rather have Putin win it.

Scoop: YouTube reverses misinformation policy to allow U.S. election denialism

Source: Axios

In a reversal of its election integrity policy, YouTube will leave up content that says fraud, errors or glitches occurred in the 2020 presidential election and other U.S. elections, the company confirmed to Axios Friday.

Why it matters: YouTube established the policy in December 2020, after enough states had certified the 2020 election results. Now, the company said in a statement, leaving the policy in place may have the effect of "curtailing political speech without meaningfully reducing the risk of violence or other real-world harm."

"Two years, tens of thousands of video removals, and one election cycle later, we recognized it was time to reevaluate the effects of this policy in today's changed landscape," YouTube said in a statement.
"With that in mind, and with 2024 campaigns well underway, we will stop removing content that advances false claims that widespread fraud, errors, or glitches occurred in the 2020 and other past US Presidential elections."

President Biden fell on stage during commencement speech

Yikes, he took a pretty good fall. He was helped back up and looked fine. Honestly got back up quicker than I could have. Praying he is ok. As someone that has had horrible experiences with my grandmother and father both falling repeatedly, it is just such a bad thing to have happen. Cue the heartless right wing scumbags with their shitty comments and memes.

Biden administration to approve major Alaska oil drilling project Willow

Source: CNN

The Biden administration is soon set to approve ConocoPhillips’ Willow Project, a major oil drilling project on Alaska’s North Slope, according to a congressional source familiar with the details. The decision will be announced next week, the source confirmed.

The expected approval is a victory for Alaska’s bipartisan congressional delegation and a coalition of Alaska Native tribes and groups who hailed the drilling venture as a much-needed new source of revenue and jobs for the remote region. It is a major blow to climate groups and Alaska Natives who oppose Willow, arguing the project will hurt the president’s ambitious climate goals and pose health and environmental risks.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre pushed back Friday, saying no final decision on the project had been made, and that the US Department of the Interior would make an “independent decision on the Willow Project.”

“No final decisions have been made – anyone who says there has been a final decision is wrong,” Jean-Pierre said. “President Biden is delivering on the most aggressive climate agenda of any US president in history and spurring an unprecedented expansion of clean energy.”

I understand the sensitivity around this issue, and I appreciate the unfortunate dependence we still have on fossil fuels. But I hope the administration has some immense last second pushback to make them reconsider approving the 3 sites. Approve 1, you can say you approved it, and ConocoPhillips will not proceed (hopefully).

Disappointed, no masks at all. Expect it from the mouth-breathing neckbeards

But I wish the elected and appointed officials from our side of the aisle did the responsible thing in such a large gathering.

Naval Station Norfolk welcomes first Black female commanding officer

Source: NBC - WAVY 10

The world’s largest naval base will soon have its first Black woman as commanding officer.

Capt. Janet Days, 54, will take command as Naval Station Norfolk’s 51st commanding officer in a change of command ceremony Friday.

Days will relieve Capt. David Dees, who will then assume duties as the chief of staff for commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic.

It is not lost on her that few decades ago, there were few positions in the Navy available for a Black person. Her dedication to the military dates back her the service of her father, George Hanks.

I hope this is allowed in LBN since it isn't a national source. But I think the implications of this are certainly of great importance to our country. The largest naval base in the world, Naval Station Norfolk, has it's first ever Black, female CO. I know there are plenty of people here that have issues/problems with the US military, and no doubt there are very valid concerns. But it makes me very happy to see this, and I wish Capt. Days a very successful command! Congratulations!

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema pulls in cash from Wall Street, real estate titans as she mulls reelection bid

Source: CNBC

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema raked in campaign cash from corporate leaders at the end of last year as she prepared for a potential high-stakes 2024 reelection bid in the battleground state of Arizona.

Sinema, a centrist swing vote in the narrowly split Senate, switched her party affiliation from Democrat to independent in December. Real estate and private equity leaders, who have long helped to fill Sinema’s campaign coffers, contributed to a healthy cash haul for the senator in the final months of last year.

As Sinema considers whether to launch a bid for a second Senate term, the senator’s campaign entered 2023 flush with cash, with $8.2 million on hand, according to a new Federal Election Commission filing. Sinema’s campaign raised over $800,000 during that time period, and a portion of those funds came from affiliated committees, according to campaign filings that became public Tuesday.

Since October, Sinema has seen the support of leaders from private equity giants such as Blackstone, along with the president of America’s largest business lobbying group, the Chamber of Commerce, according to the filing.

In rare 100-0 vote, VA House of Delegates passes bill to commemorate Green Book sites

The House of Delegates gave us a rare example of bipartisanship last week. HB 1968, which seeks to memorialize sites named in the “Green Book,” passed with a unanimous 100-0 vote on Jan. 24.

The bill would create roadside historical markers at the sites of former restaurants, hotels, gas stations and other businesses that catered to Black travelers during the Jim Crow era.

Commonly referred to as “The Green Book,” the “Negro Traveler’s Green Book” was a guide published during the Jim Crow era that allowed Black people to traverse the American South – and later most of the country – safely, while avoiding businesses operated by white segregationists. (If it sounds familiar, Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen starred in a 2018 movie about it.)

“That green book was a lifeline for so many African-American travelers, and here in the commonwealth, we are still commemorating those sites,” the bill’s sponsor, Del. Michael Mullin (D), said. “We know of about 315 of them still. Many have been lost to history, and so, what we are doing right now is we are going to put up roadside markers at the first 60 that we already have roadside markers at now.”

Did the DOJ do any searches at drumpf Tower or any other shithole places the toad stayed?

They seem to be tearing apart any place President Biden has ever even looked at, much less stayed. Meanwhile they search one closet at drumpf's tacky ass cesspool and call it a day. I am sure the little mushroom has docs stored other places.
