kentuck's JournalDonald Trump is no Abraham Lincoln.
In fact, he is not like any other president in history, although he had similar criminal inclinations as Richard Nixon. He should not be viewed with the same lens as all the other presidents. None of them betrayed our country or shit on our Constitution the way that Trump has done.
There is no denying that he had a lot of supporters and is considered a duly-elected president of this country. But it should come with an asterisk*. He cheated, lied, and broke the law dozens of times. He was an habitual criminal.
No president should ever be put on a pedestal and considered above the law. They are the ones that execute the laws. They should be held to the highest standard.
Merrick Garland has no choice but to indict the former president*. It is necessary in order for the rule of law to continue. It is necessary for our democracy, however unpalatable it may be to all the politicians in Washington and across our nation.
In my opinion, it is not a matter of whether or not Trump will be indicted, it is a matter of when. Let his defenders step forth.
MAGAts understand the law.
They know that espionage is a very serious offense against our nation. They know it is not legal to withhold evidence from the FBI. They understand that attempted extortion is a crime.
They may believe that Donald Trump won the last election but they do not believe it is OK to steal the nation's secrets and hold them for ransom.
They believe in the basic rules of law, just as most other Americans believe. We should not believe that they are willing to overlook the laws of the country just because they believe Joe Biden is not the legitimate president.
Many of them understand that those who break the law, be it Hunter Biden, Joe Biden, Bill Clinton, or Donald Trump, they must be held accountable. Not all of them, but most of them believe in the rule of law, in my opinion. If they do not understand that, they must be cast aside. They are part of the problem, not the solution.
That is why Merrick Garland must indict and prosecute the crimes that have been committed in broad daylight. It is damn near treason and the MAGAts know it.
The rule of law must be restored.
Where are the peacemakers?
This Russian war in the Ukraine could very easily flare up into a world conflagration.
The world would hope there would be someone calling for peace? "An eye for an eye and soon the whole world is walking around blind."
They need some sort of compromise or truce of some sort.
Where are the leaders of the world?
We need peace.
Why did the J6 Committee move their hearing to the 13th?
Previously, it was reported that it was going to be held on the 18th?
Do they just want to go home and campaign or would there be another reason?
Could they have a bombshell to drop?
Are there enough questions about Trump and the documents to subpoena him to answer?
Under oath?
If he refused, it would be an automatic indictment. He would know before hand what the stakes are?
He needs to answer some questions.
It's time to get serious.
If the DOJ starts now, they will be ready to make a decision, of whether or not to charge, after the election.
He should be subpoenaed now.
Just my opinion.
Trump Indicts the DOJ...
He claims they stole his documents from his home and office. He says they are now using the court system to maintain control of the documents.
Seeking relief from the tyrannical DOJ, Trump has gone to the Supreme Court to halt this unprecedented attack upon his character and reputation.
He will not be happy until the DOJ is discredited and behind bars.
The penalty should be harsh for stealing our nation's secrets.
The people of this country simply will not put up with it.
Why did Trump send back 15 boxes of documents to the National Archive?
Some of them classified?
If he thought they belonged to him, why did he give them back? Could it be that he knew they were the property of the National Archives?
So, he knows he broke the law by withholding the other boxes from the Archives.
He knows he broke the law when he stole the documents.
He is thumbing his nose at the rule of law.
Does President Biden have any role to play in the stolen documents case?
After all, he is the head of the Executive Branch of government and the missing documents belong to the Executive Branch.
Could he not say, "I hereby declare that all documents missing from our Archives be labeled as "classified" and immediately returned to their proper location" ?
Could he not demand that all the documents, even those in question by the Courts, be returned to the National Archives, by order of executive privilege?
Could he take them to court for the immediate return of all the documents?
Those that refuse or block the request of the Executive Branch, by order of the President, would be in violation of the law and subject to legal recourse?
Does Joe Biden have any role in this mess?
If Trump's lawyers know that he is withholding classified documents...?
Do they have the right to withhold that information from the DOJ?
Can they be held criminally liable, the same as their client?
What should we make of the story that the DOJ has informed the lawyers that they believe there are more classified documents?
From a distance, this looks like this story has turned a corner.
There is no doubt but that the former president is obstructing the DOJ investigation. He has made no effort to help the government retrieve these secret documents. Actually, quite the opposite.
He has put the DOJ in the corner and left them no option but to indict on obstruction and espionage charges.
He has bought himself a little time by going to the Supreme Court, but unless they decide to take the side of the Traitor Trump, this crime spree is about to end.
Trump has backslid into doing just what Judge Dearie was trying to prevent him from doing...
...before Judge Cannon ruled against the Special Master.
He was going to require him to say which documents were "planted by the FBI" during the search warrant of Mar-a-Lago. But Judge Cannon said, "No, you can't make him stop lying in public", paraphrasing.
Now, he is back to saying the FBI planted the evidence during their search. He did not take long to prove Judge Cannon wrong in her decision.
