kentuck's JournalIs Trump's big "press conference" a diversion from another big story?
Perhaps, someone is going to turn himself in to authorities about that time? What better time to slip in and get your mugshot than when media is delving into the deep meaning of your publicized announcement?
Of course, the first GOP debate is on the horizon. How can he capture the media attention without attending the debate?
It seems there is always an ulterior motive in all his decisions.
His conniving brain must be working overtime this morning?
Republicans are going to continue to deny reality.
There was an attempted coup to overthrow the elected government. They believe it was all politics, and all is fair in politics and war.
The Defendant stole top secret documents, including nuclear secrets and military information that could do great harm to our country. Most Republicans do not believe it is a big deal. After all, Biden and Pence had confidential information in their possession also.
The Defendant, along with many Republican conspirators, conspired to steal elections in several states and deny the nomination to Joe Biden and the American people. Many of those conspirators were in the US Congress. They could see nothing wrong with that.
How could they possibly admit that they were wrong without looking like two-bit criminals themselves? Instead, they say that Biden has weaponized the DOJ for political reasons.
The Defendant has committed too many crimes to even list, starting with his business deals, that were against the laws of the Constitution. Everyone over-looked the crimes.
Now, the Defendant has four indictments against him, with more than 90 charges, and Republicans continue to defend his actions. If denial was a river, they would be drowning.
With Putin weakened by the war in Ukraine, could Defendant slip into Russia and take over?
From what I have read, they love him over there. He and Tucker are on Russian TV almost every night.
He could fly out in the middle of the night, with a stopover at his golf course in Scotland, and then fly into Moscow the next evening. I'm sure he has some friends that would help him. Boris Epshteyn could call ahead for him. From what I have read, he went to school in Moscow and speaks fluent Russian.
The Defendant could call for Putin to step down and tell the Russian people that he would take over for an interim period, until they could have elections. Of course, he would be on the ballot.
The Russian people seem to be very much like the MAGAts, they would probably eat it up?
Then, everyone would be happy. America would be rid of the lying turd and Russia would have a new leader. The Defendant would finally get his wish of being an autocrat, a malevolent dictator, if you wish.
Why is Defendant waiting until Monday to give major announcement?
I think he is playing mind games with the other 18 co-conspirators. He doesn't want them to desert the cause at this time. They are loyal followers and they will wait until Monday to see what he has to say before they make any decisions about cooperating or spilling the beans. Just one of them could spoil the whole charade.
In the meantime, he will be working the phones and getting their loyalty pledges. It's going to be a big challenge for him to try and keep all these people on the same page, in my opinion.
And another, and another, and another, and another...
Four indictments.
And we are supposed to believe it is all a "witch hunt"?
As the indicted defendant goes about his normal business, of lying and name-calling and tearing down our democracy. Surely if he pretends strongly enough, all of his supporters will agree with him that there is really nothing to these indictments except politics and people that hate him.
Perhaps it is only an Oscar-worthy display of bravado? Even with the chocolate all over his face, he still denies that he stole the cookies from the cookie jar. But he does it with such sincerity and persuasiveness.
Who could doubt such an honest person?
Republicans have little faith in democracy or the jury system.
They seem to believe that no one can get a fair trial if the jury is chosen from a population that is primarily Democratic by Party registration?
Why else would they not rush to clear their name if they are charged with a serious crime? If they are innocent as they profess, then why so fearful at facing a jury of your peers?
It is anti-American to distrust the cornerstone of our democracy, the justice system, in such a manner.
Perhaps, just maybe, there is another reason Republicans do not want to go in front of a jury?
Why they chose Georgia?
It was mostly the decision of Trump and Giuliani, in my opinion. Georgia was the most "Republican" of all the contested states, with a Republican Governor, Secretary of State, and State House.
Although Georgia, or no one state, would give Trump the votes he needed to win the electoral votes for the presidency, it would cast doubt on the other states in question, or so they hoped.
They believed Georgia would be the catalyst to challenging the votes in the other states and moving their legislators to act in their behalf.
It was a conspiracy from the beginning. Few, if any, of the conspirators actually believed that Trump won the election, but they were willing to go along with the crazy, illegal scheme.
Now, it has come almost full circle.
All that is left is the trial and the verdict.
Those that stand with democracy and the law will be rewarded.
I do not doubt that.
Although we may be apprehensive or fearful about the future, I do believe that justice will triumph.
The lies and conspiracies will eventually dissipate into the nothingness from which they came.
Believing this, it keeps me going.
Angel From Montgomery
I think the whole country is sick and tired of his bullshit...
...including most Republicans.
His monotonous screeds are like Chinese water torture to most sane people.
Most understand that he is running for the White House to stay out of the Jail House.
His lies are being exposed one by one and they will be laid bare in a jury trial.
That should be a national holiday.
