When these Repug Senators believe that voting not to allow witnesses or evidence in the trial or voting to acquit - is the lesser of two evils - one has to really wonder what Trump is holding over their heads?
To sacrifice their integrity. To disregard an oath to God. To put Party ahead of Country. To risk their legacy for a criminal. To have to face their children or in the future their grandchildren and tell them they didn't have enough guts to stand up to this bully.
I just don't get it. I'm sorry - no job - not even being Senator in these United States is worth destroying one's integrity. So they lose their seat in the Senate - it's not like its the end of the world for them. Everyone of them is comfortable and certainly don't lack money. Everyone of them will get another job if they want it.
What is Trump holding over them? Did he threaten their lives? Does Trump really have deep, dark secrets on each and every one of these Senators that can ruin them? Are they in the loop and do they feel if they take Trump down - they'll go down with him?
What is it? I just don't get it - that all 53 of these Senators are criminals like Trump.
I respect what Romney did today - but he did the right thing. Did it really take guts to do what he did? He's rich. He doesn't need the job. He won't starve if they throw him out of the Party. It will probably - in a strange way - help his image. Maybe he still thinks he can run as his Party's nominee for president in the future.
But I keep wondering - what kind of hold does Trump have on these folks.

I don't think I'll be able to watch Trump. I might start watching but I'll turn it off when he tells his first lie.

We May Have Lost Our Best Opportunity To Remove Trump. That Was To Hold Him Accountable For Sexual..
related crimes a long time ago back when it was front page news.
His pussy grabbing. His walking in to dressing rooms because he could. His sexual assaults on women. His accused rapes.
The climate was right to hold him accountable for all these crimes. We had the 'me too' movement working for us. We had Cosby. We had Roger Ailes. We had Hollywood stars and moguls going down. Weinstein. Epstein. Prince Andrew. etc, etc, etc.
We held their feet to the fire and they were banished from their pedestals
If we would have kept the pressure on Trump - he too could have been banished. His Repug protectors would not go there to protect him. It would have been political suicide for them to protect him.
If we would have pushed this sexual issue they couldn’t have shielded Trump. Too volatile of an issue and women would have crucified any Repug if they tried to protect Trump in those cases.
Just think about how those other guys I mentioned above went down. I heard that Joni Ernst is saying that Trump is a prince compared to Clinton. At least Clinton’s dalliance was with someone that was consenting. Really Joni? - a prince compared to Clinton?
The ‘me too’ movement was and is too powerful and the issue is too sensitive and close to the hearts and minds of women.
Instead we gave Trump a pass. We enabled him. We let these opportunities slip through our grasp. Comics made jokes about him. During that period where Trump was under the gun – we and the MSM supported Trump more than the women accusers.
We lost our best opportunity to remove him. Look where it got us.

As A Way Of Saving Themselves And Give Them A Talking Point For November - Will The Repug Senators .
move to 'censure' Trump - because they can use Lamar's justification (and I heard it this a.m. from Rubio) that the president did it - but it doesn't rise to the level of impeachment and removal from office.
Does anyone thing that this might be in the back of the minds of the Repugs?
It would be an interesting move on their part - if they did do this.

be very wary of what you read and believe between now and the Nov. election. There will be a lot of fake news you will have to deal with.
A Trump acquittal will open the floodgates for all kinds of deception because remember - if the president believes it is in the interest of the American People - it is legal.
So don't get caught in his/their trap. Keep an open mind when you hear and see all those evil stories about the Dems and remember what we set out to do when this all started.
Vote for the Dem nominee whomever it is. Our goal now is to beat the pants off of Trump and the Repugs and take back the WH and the Senate.
