Sources were firm that the GOP, as it is presently known, may no longer exist after this investigation and a new party of the right may have to form. ACLU lawsuit claims Leon County bail system unconstitutional

The bail system for poor criminal defendants in Leon County is unlawful and unconstitutional, according to a federal lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union earlier this month.

The class-action lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida against the state of Florida stems from the detainment of Brittany Knight since June 17, 2016, on charges of aggravated manslaughter of a child.

After entering a plea of no contest, Knight was sentenced to nine years in state prison and five years of probation on Oct. 18. On Wednesday, she filed to dismiss two claims of excessive bail.

But five days earlier, on Oct. 13, the ACLU claimed that the inability to pay bail in cases like hers was burdensome.

In the next 25 years, AI will evolve to the point where it will know more on an intellectual level than any human. In the next 50 or 100 years, an AI might know more than the entire population of the planet put together. At that point, there are serious questions to ask about whether this AI — which could design and program additional AI programs all on its own, read data from an almost infinite number of data sources, and control almost every connected device on the planet — will somehow rise in status to become more like a god, something that can write its own bible and draw humans to worship it.

Recently, reports surfaced that a controversy-plagued engineer who once worked at Uber has started a new religion. Anthony Levandowski filed paperwork for a nonprofit religious organization called The Way of the Future. Its mission: “To develop and promote the realization of a Godhead based on artificial intelligence and through understanding and worship of the Godhead contribute to the betterment of society.”
Building divinity

Of course, this is nothing new. The Singularity is another quasi-spiritual idea that believes an AI will become smarter than humans at some point. You might laugh at the notion of an AI being so powerful that humans bow down to worship it, but several experts who talked to VentureBeat argue that the idea is a lot more feasible than you might think.

One of the experts is Vince Lynch, who started a company called IV.AI that builds custom AI for the enterprise. Lynch explained how there are some similarities between organized religion and how an AI actually works. In the Bible used by Christians, for example, Lynch says there are many recurring themes, imagery, and metaphors.

A Denver school teacher has sued President Donald Trump claiming his recent administrative rule changes creating religious and moral exemptions to the Affordable Care Act violate her rights and discriminate against women.

Jessica Campbell, 30, relies on hormonal contraception for medical reasons, according to a civil rights lawsuit filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in Denver on her behalf by Denver attorneys Alan Kennedy-Shaffer and Joel Judd.

The lawsuit seeks a preliminary and permanent injunction to prevent Trump and several of his cabinet members from enforcing two interim final rules: the religious and moral exemptions of the Affordable Care Act.

Trump is not implementing sanctions....as U.S. warns public

about attacks on energy, industrial firms

(Reuters) - The U.S government issued a rare public warning about hacking campaigns targeting energy and industrial firms, the latest evidence that cyber attacks present an increasing threat to the power industry and other public infrastructure.

The Department of Homeland Security and Federal Bureau of Investigation warned in a report distributed via email late on Friday that the nuclear, energy, aviation, water and critical manufacturing industries have been targeted along with government entities in attacks dating back to at least May.

The agencies warned that hackers had succeeded in compromising some targeted networks, but did not identify specific victims or describe any cases of sabotage.
