Being frank, what chance to the HR-1, George Floyd or any even mildly 'progressive' bill stand in

the Senate with conditions as they are. It doesn't seem like they have much but I'm open, hopeful to hear differently. It doesn't seem like anything stands much of a chance and it would blow if the Biden administration it stuck mostly spinning its wheel in Republican mud aside from EOs that will used for toilet paper the instant another inevitably gets the Big Chair.

Who are the congressional Democratic members that seem to vote counter to the Party constantly?

Such as voting against the Covid relief bill, against HR1, etc. Is it always the same people or am I misunerstanding?

This Senator Has Got the Math Wrong About a $15 Minimum Wag

Senator John Thune, Republican of South Dakota, said Wednesday that he opposed raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour, explaining that he earned just $6 an hour as a teenager working over summer vacations as a restaurant cook.

Mr. Thune has been rightly and roundly roasted for innumeracy. He was a teenager in the 1970s. Earning $6 an hour back then is equivalent to earning more than $20 an hour today, because inflation has reduced the purchasing power of each dollar.

On the merits, Mr. Thune ought to endorse a higher minimum wage.

The simple problem with the filibuster... (Well, duh, Nexus2)

There is practically nothing that the Democratic Party cares about that ten Republicans are willing to vote for. :-/

Should the 'stimulus' payments be made monthly?

I put quotes around on stimulus because I really believe they'd more accurately called rescue and aid payments since that is what the tend to do for myself and most of the people I know that receive them. The amount, while welcome and helpful, isn't -that- much overall and can be eaten up pretty quickly but normal expenses, particularly in the chaotic environment we're all stuck in.

I know its got the odds a snowball in blast furnace of happening but I was wondering what other board members felt about the subject.

So in reaction to the possibility of witnesses being called during the impeachment

Republicans pul their old stand by of threatening to gum up everything (Cabinet appoints, Covid relief, etc) essentially holding the nation hostage more or less out of spite and that was a big reason the Democratic Party side backed down? That's what Neal Katayal seemed to be saying on MSNBC this morning.

Why have so many seemingly fell through the cracks when it comes to the 600 dollar stimulus checks?

There's been several board members that I've seen and quite a few IRL that I've encountered including my own mother. Yet I haven't seen any official mention of the issue or what someone might do about the matter. Can we look forward ( ) to similar issue with the upcoming checks?

Progressives Renew Push for $2,000 Monthly Stimulus Checks but Economists Are Skeptical

Amid the ongoing debate over a new coronavirus relief package, progressives in Congress are advocating for $2,000 stimulus checks—not just once but every month until the pandemic is over.

More than 50 House Democrats, led by Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, sent a letter to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday urging their administration to back recurring direct cash payments.

"One more check is not enough," Omar wrote, likely referencing the $1,400 payment included in the president's $1.9 trillion relief package.

I think this has about as much of a chance of happening as I have becoming to Professional Unicorn rancher. But the idea, IMO, has merit especially after seeing the 'compromise' offering like reducing the stimulus payments to 400 dollars. Which won't cover one month's rent in most places.

What do you think the alternate GOP Covid proposal will look like?

Will it even by a good faith proposal or just a delaying tactic?

Edit: GOP senators offer Covid-19 relief counterproposal to force talks with White House back to middle
