Democratic lawmakers file articles of impeachment against Kristi Noem
(The Guardian) The Democratic representative Robin Kelly on Wednesday formally introduced articles of impeachment against Donald Trumps homeland security secretary, Kristi Noem, following the fatal shooting of a US citizen by an immigration agent in Minneapolis last week. Secretary Noem has brought her reign of terror to the Chicagoland area, LA, New Orleans, Charlotte, Durham and communities east, north, to south to east to west Kelly said in a press conference on Wednesday. She needs to be held accountable for her actions. Kelly, an Illinois Democrat, said she filed three articles of impeachment against Noem obstruction of Congress, violation of public trust, and self-dealing and has the backing of 70 members of Congress.

NATO becomes far more formidable and effective with Greenland in the hands of the UNITED STATES, Trump wrote. Anything less than that is unacceptable. Greenland, a semiautonomous territory of NATO ally Denmark, is at the center of a geopolitical storm as Trump insists he wants to own it and residents of its capital, Nuuk, say it isnt for sale. The White House hasnt ruled out taking the Arctic island by force.

According to the poll, 52 percent of respondents believe that agent Jonathan Rosss use of force was "not justified," while only 28 percent defend the action. Furthermore, 53 percent of participants believe the agent should face criminal charges.

(CBS News) According to figures from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), 22.8 million people have signed up for ACA coverage for 2026 since open enrollment started on Nov. 1. That's down 1.4 million from the number of Americans who had enrolled in Obamacare, as the health plans are known, a year ago. Nationally, around 800,000 fewer people have selected plans compared to a similar time last year, marking a 3.5% drop in total enrollment so far. That includes a decrease in both new consumers signing up for ACA plans and existing enrollees re-upping them. Open ACA enrollment in most states for February coverage ends on Jan. 15.
