piddyprints
piddyprints's JournalI just got my application for mail-in ballot.
For some reason, it's required to apply, even though I always vote by mail. This time, it's asking for my social security number. I'm not comfortable writing in on a paper that anyone in the election office can see. Why do they need it? They have my birthdate, and I've been voting here for 20 years. Is this part of the GOP obsession with voter fraud? What would you do? I'm really not comfortable with this. It's not as if my vote counts here (TN), but I'd still like to do it.
Update: yessirree, thanks to the bloated one, we need to submit our social security number to vote by mail. Thats one way to get us to stop voting. Im not willing to risk identity theft for a vote that wont matter anyway. This county is so fucked.
Has anyone ever used Bring a Trailer?
Im considering listing my car with them. Has anyone bought or sold a car through them? What was your experience like?
TIA
Who needs a heart?
I have 24 to give away and will be checking in periodically.
Edit: Thank you for the hearts! I still have plenty to give out. Reply if you need one.
What is this about selling my information?
It comes up when I post something, but goes away with the default of basically, "go ahead" before I get a chance to click "Don't."
I would like the default to be "NEVER EVER SELL MY INFORMATION TO ANYONE, EVEN IF I CAN'T CLICK THE DANG BUTTON IN TIME!" Why is it even an option to sell my information?
Got my income tax refund.
I filed on Jan. 31 and the refund was deposited today. Maybe they haven't broken that yet? Someone else posted that theirs came in a week, so I've been checking every day. Knowing someone else got their quickly gave me hope.
Anyway, I'm relieved.
I have hearts to give.
If you need one, please reply. Ill check back in the morning.
Update: I have 4 left. I'll keep checking in.
What is going on with the mail?
The tracking on my packages says they're at my post office, or the post office of their final destination. But instead of then being "Out for Delivery," they're "in transit to the next facility." Then they go to a neighboring town. WTF? My post office said they never actually got to them, but they will eventually. I've had at least 3 packages all out lost since before Christmas. One went from Ohio to Dallas, TX, in order to get to Virginia and it took 3 weeks with Priority Mail.
I know DeJoy has been a nightmare, but why has it gotten exponentially worse just in the past month or so?
Question about Bluesky...
I was able to get it onto my iPhone and signed up, etc. Then I downloaded the app to my computer and tried to sign in. I did write down my password, but it doesn't work. So I tried to reset it. I have been trying for 3 days to get a reset code, but I never get one. (Yes, I have looked in my Junk folder.) Now what? I can't even change my password on my iPhone because I need a reset code for that.
Also, what is my username? piddyprints or piddyprints.bluesky.social or my email address?
TIA
Update: I emailed support and got their auto-reply. I don't know if that's good or bad at this point.
I wish...
I could be warned if a post or any replies to it contain a picture of that disgusting glob of orange goo before I open it. My goal, for the next however many years he'll be shitting on our country, is to try to stay informed without having to see pictures of that disgusting filth. It's like having PTSD along with the current and upcoming trauma. I had to severely limit my DU time after the election because it sends my stress level up. However, I would like to stay informed. Can't that be done without actually having to look at TSF-porn? I stopped listening to NPR years ago because they insisted on forcing his whiny voice over my speakers.
Anyway, that's my wish.
Took Simon to the vet today.
Dont know how many of you remember MissHoneyChurch. She fell in love with baby Simon kitten while visiting us in early 2007. Of course, we kept him here, as she couldnt ship him and quarantine him. He was such a tiny thing. Every time she visited, he acted as if she had never left
until last year, when it was just too long for him to remember.
He has been in kidney failure for about 2 years. He stopped eating yesterday, so I took him to urgent care today. His weight is still good (almost 12 pounds!) but he just wasnt feeling good. Doc gave him some different shots to help him feel better. But he is definitely on borrowed time. Hes sitting next to me for wine time now, looking like he might be interested in some supper in a few minutes.
Many of our pets were born in 2006 and 2007. Simon is the last one of that batch. We had to say goodbye to 17-year-old Sarabi in May. I have a 21-year-old cat who came to me separately. She is also in kidney failure, but doing well so far.
Its hard. Just saying
I love them all and wish they could live forever. Just glad we have an excellent vet care here and well do what we can to make them comfortable and happy.
🥰
Heres to all the wonderful DU pet lovers.
